Who: Thor and you
Broadcast: fleetwide
Action: on the Blue Fish if you want him
When: today
[Thor has obviously stuck his communicator on the desk in his room, because the video opens with him in profile, sitting on his bed. For a few moments all he does is toss a small rubber ball out of the frame, then catch it when it rebounds off the opposite wall with a thud back towards him. He does this a couple of times before he speaks.]
When I arrived in the Fleet, I was told a lot of things and given several warnings. All of them with good purpose. What I remember most though is being told not to try and take out the augment. More than one person told me this.
[A sidelong glance at the communicator, before he throws the ball into the wall again. Thud. Catch.]
No one said why exactly, other than the obvious part where it's stuck in our heads. Still, I would ask what exactly we know about these augments. What's been tried to get them out, what happens when you do? And have they been known to do anything else besides give us information about our ship roles.
If I had heard more about it earlier, I probably wouldn't have-- [Hold that thought: Thor misses the next rebound on the ball and it smacks him in the head, making him jump and drop out of frame for a moment.] --shit.
[Okay, he’s back up, with the offending ball tossed away into a corner. He rubs at his face before continuing, faintly annoyed. Everything is out to spite him today.]
Anyway. If you know something about them, I'd like to hear it. Or even if you have an opinion on them. Those are good too.
[One day he'll make a network post when he's in a cheerful mood. Maybe.]

[That, and Loki vanishing may have prompted him to Do Something more about it.]

[Thor may not have proof of that, but having been in the Fleet for a while it's a reasonable enough assumption. When it comes to Loki, that part matters. It still sprung a deep well of agitation in him that won't go away any time soon.]

Hey. You know, someone already did suggest that I should have people throw things at me rather than against a wall.
[A completely reasonable suggestion.]
action.
Well, it's a really cathartic way of dealing with stuff. We can't really smash Atroma, but we can smash their things. And they have to watch us do it.

[On that note, Thor raises an eyebrow and looks Sokka over.]
You did recover from our last session, I hope.
[Thor has absolutely gone all-in on the Looma training. It has probably been a bit of a bruising experience.]
no subject
[Thor is a good friend, and he appreciates the training a great deal. ]
Well, my back's okay now and my leg's stopped doing that twitchy thing, so I think I'm ready for another round.
no subject
[At least Thor's trained with humans before and knows where not to cross the line.]
We can go again tomorrow then. I expect I will spend today going through all of this information.

[Genuinely. ]

I hadn't realised before how sudden it is when people disappear from the Fleet.

[The number wouldn't connect, and then he couldn't find Loki on the ship manifests, or on the Vanquish when he had gone to look. From there he knew what must have happened, and it stung. It had come with an immediate, unwelcome thought: he left me here. Thor shifts, leaning back against the wall with his arms crossed.]
I admit I have not paid as much attention when it happened to others before.
[It hadn't happened to anyone he really knew until now.]
no subject
[If he sounds bitter about that, it's because he absolutely is. He's lost a lot of people to Atroma's whims over his years here. He's pretty damn sick of it already. ]
I guess it's easy to miss- especially if it happens to people you're not close to. You know, once almost everyone I was close to back home were here - all together. And then one by one, poof.
no subject
[He bites that out a little harder than usual, but it's warranted. He is frustrated, and without any suitable target to hold to task for it. Huffing through his nose, he watches Sokka thoughtfully.]
I didn't realise so many you knew had been here before.
no subject
[Atroma are never HERE to fight against. Hell, they hardly ever speak to them. They can't even shout at their captors most days. ]
Oh yeah, there were about seven of us here at one point. Eight, if you include Zuko's crazy sister which is exactly why we have locks on our doors.
no subject
[No locks would stop either of Thor's siblings if they were inclined to get somewhere. That just puts Loki in mind again though, and the less thought about Hela the better.]
It is a lot, to both have here and to lose. I've heard tell from others that a lot of people from my own universe have been and gone too. Both Avengers and those known to them.
no subject
[He hates Azula. He hates her so much. ]
Avengers, huh? Can't say the name means much, but I've probably come across some of them while I've been here.
no subject
[And Thor has the benefit of Loki no longer being invested in a war.]
Yes, the Avengers are the team I'm part of on Earth. You probably have - Steve Rogers and Natasha Romanoff are the ones still here, along with Sam Wilson.
no subject
[So lucky, so so lucky. ]
Oh, yeah, I think I've seen those guys around. Different social circle to mine, but I recognise the names.
no subject
I'll consider it fortunate then that Loki was from the same time as me. It might have gone ill otherwise.
They have been here for quite a while, some of them. I know there were others in the past who have since gone.
no subject
[They can all be glad he's not a currently backstabbing Loki. ]
That makes sense. This place has a big turnaround, but does like to grab people from the same worlds. It makes me think us being here isn't as random as Atroma likes to pretend it is.
no subject
It does seem that way. There are many from my universe here, but not all from the same time. They are all connected in some way though.
