video.
Who: Thor and you
Broadcast: fleetwide
Action: on the Blue Fish if you want him
When: today
[Thor has obviously stuck his communicator on the desk in his room, because the video opens with him in profile, sitting on his bed. For a few moments all he does is toss a small rubber ball out of the frame, then catch it when it rebounds off the opposite wall with a thud back towards him. He does this a couple of times before he speaks.]
When I arrived in the Fleet, I was told a lot of things and given several warnings. All of them with good purpose. What I remember most though is being told not to try and take out the augment. More than one person told me this.
[A sidelong glance at the communicator, before he throws the ball into the wall again. Thud. Catch.]
No one said why exactly, other than the obvious part where it's stuck in our heads. Still, I would ask what exactly we know about these augments. What's been tried to get them out, what happens when you do? And have they been known to do anything else besides give us information about our ship roles.
If I had heard more about it earlier, I probably wouldn't have-- [Hold that thought: Thor misses the next rebound on the ball and it smacks him in the head, making him jump and drop out of frame for a moment.] --shit.
[Okay, he’s back up, with the offending ball tossed away into a corner. He rubs at his face before continuing, faintly annoyed. Everything is out to spite him today.]
Anyway. If you know something about them, I'd like to hear it. Or even if you have an opinion on them. Those are good too.
[One day he'll make a network post when he's in a cheerful mood. Maybe.]

[A nod.] It's a very dangerous risk, and I'm not sure it's worth it. If Atroma is the only way we have to go home, I'd rather stay close to them.

[Thor, being fresh into the Fleet at the time, had largely forgotten about the particulars of that. Jumping forward two years in the interim hasn't helped his memory of the event, which was mainly taken up with the one-on-one battles he had fought on the ground besides.]
Does that not just leave us in the same situation? Relying on the whims of our captors to get us home.
[It's something he really doesn't enjoy. He's tried playing along with a puppeteer's strings before, and got burned by it.]

[His tone a little bit... darker then. Speaking of experience with being a puppet, speaking of a need to find Atroma and punching them in their faces that he keeps controlled. While being in the fleet isn't as bad as being the Galra's gladiator, when he's reminded of the actual context of their current situation, he definitely feels the tension in both body and mind.]
We've found planets with valuable information, and I think by staying here we may gain even more - resources too. And with the Interceptors on the outside, we can be their people in the inside. They've lost a great deal of people, while here we have access to magical healing and resurrection. I want everyone to be able to go back to their worlds, unlike some participants from the Interceptors' season.
[He talks like a commander in a war - because he's one at home, and Atroma just takes that side of him out.]
I don't blame you for wanting out, though. You could try asking the Interceptors how - I had no luck. But I'd recommend a meeting in person, the connection we have with them isn't very secure.

Thor sets his jaw, but he nods. He does accept what Shiro's saying, little though he likes it.]
I don't like this idleness. I would prefer doing something about it, but I cannot see what, yet. It sounds like speaking to these Interceptors myself would not much help with that.

[He's incredibly frustrated, and it shows. Mentioning the heist, though, reminds him of something.]
Have you seen the document we've put together with the different bits of information we've been finding? Including the time we were sent back to the Marsiva.

I won't need to copy it, but I'll have a look sometime.

[The document and the augments both.]
