Video - Open

[Video opens to a dark screen as Kramm's face is right up in it as he tries to secure the device. After a moment he backs up enough for the screen to focus on his scaly face, a little touch of red as his forked tongue sticks out in concentration, his blue eyes screwed up as well. Once he seems happy enough with the arrangement, however, he beams with excitement and settles back to smile and wave congenially at the camera.]

Uh, hi! Hello! Kramm here, I'm new. Not, uh, used to this sort of ... thing. I think I'm reaching everyone but let's be honest, I have no idea. [He shrugs his broad shoulders. He's dressed in simple leathers, his green scalemail armor draped over the chair behind him.]

Anyway, just thought I'd give a little formal greeting. Who's been down to the planet yet? What's your favorite place? I really liked the rides until I got stuck on one for a few hours, but ... I'll probably go back tomorrow.

[There's a long awkward pause as he waits for responses, wondering if it's even gone out to anyone. He hums a little tune and taps his clawed fingers on his knees for the moment.]

[she usually prefers just calling - or whatever the voice function is called - but it isn't every day someone immediately reminds her of back home. Not that she misses the place, but the people . . . well, she misses the people she traveled with. Sometimes]

You got stuck on one of those metal monstrosities?

Yeah! I've never seen anything quite like it!

[The novelty hasn't quite worn off yet, but it'll probably be short-lived]

There's different ones, right? Different ships? How many are there?

They are certainly . . . ah, unique. Though something I'd rather see from afar rather than close up.

[she's an adventurous type, but not in that way]

Of the ships we're all on? There are fifteen total. There is also the Iskaulit, that has bars and a library and things of that sort.

[His face almost literally lights up, a wide grin breaking across his muzzle,] Bars? Plural, that? What are they like?

[Librarys ... not so much his thing. Places with alcohol ... exactly up his ally.]

Plural, yes. I prefer the darker one ran by Crowley, but there is another that is . . . the - atmosphere? Seems more open, I suppose. I think that is the word.

Honestly, it comes down to a matter of preference.

Hi, Kramm. I'm Mon-El. [Unfazed by his looks. He's seen all kinds of races in his travels to various worlds and visitors to Daxam.]

Why didn't you just call for help if you were stuck? I'm sure one of us could have gotten you off the ride. It's just the kind of heroing Kara's been missing. [Okay, she likes big, flashy heroing too, but helping people is always quality heroing.]

[He pauses for a moment, then settles back in his seat and stares out into the middle-distance for a moment since the idea of calling for help hadn't even crossed his mind. Then he shrugs with a chuckle,]

It wasn't so bad. Weather was nice, spectacular view, and it started up on its own again eventually. Perhaps next time I will reach out to this Kara.

And, it's nice to meet you too, Mon-El.

At least it was a nice day for it. And if you just got here you probably didn't have a lot of other plans. [Heck, he's been here awhile and he doesn't have any other plans!]

Nice to meet you. Where are you from?

[He hmms thoughtfully for a moment,] I'm from all over, I mean on my world at least. My clan traveled a bit, when I was growing up, passing along the word of Tiamat to whoever would listen, or at least not immediately run us out of town. Once I, uh ... parted ways, just sort of ... meandered. We had nothing like this, though. I heard rumors of skyships but I don't think they went quite this far up!

I think that's a surprise for a lot of people who come here. [Mon-El was used to space travel already, so it took more adjustment for him that other people weren't.] Tiamat? Is that your god?

[He chuckles awkwardly, and reaches up to pick at his headscales.] Uh, more theirs. Didn't really fit in with my way of thinking, once I got older. Kind of the reason I got kicked out --

[He clears his throat and pushes the conversation elsewhere.]

You got gods?

[He nods.] We do. I was not particularly...devote? More time for fun that way I guess. [He sounds low key embarrassed about that lifestyle.]

And now here we are in space ships.

Space ships. It's pretty cool, but cramped ... it's really exciting and all but, sometimes I miss the open road.

Well, there are usually planets or moons or space stations we we can stretch out on. The Iskaulit is bigger too which can help.

Yeah? Man you sound like you really know the score here. I wouldn't pass up a chance to pick your brain, get some extra survival tips for non-spacefaring folktypes.

Hey, Kramm. Looks like we're shipmates.

[Natasha is calm, politely welcoming. A little reserved, but not cold.]

You haven't been around too long, have you? Hate to hear I missed giving you a proper welcome.

[His face brightens, because being shipmates means she's basically a party member, far as he's concerned.]

Oh no, you haven't missed much. I've only been here, uh ... I haven't been here long and, admittedly, I have spent a lot of time on the planet. It's just so amazing to me; you just hop into one of these little steel birds and down you go to an entire world. I'm used to walking for days to get to the next village. Gunna get fat and lazy in now time.

So. You've got my name, might I have yours?

Romanoff. Natasha Romanoff. [Not exactly the expression she expected. On the other hand, she's not sure what expression she would expect. Still at this point she's not going to be put off too much by it.] Nice to meet you.

Enjoy the planet while you can. As long as nothing's trying to blow it up, might as well get what you can out of it. You'll miss it when we're drifting again.

[He had a few questions, and a pleasant greeting, but they all die in the swatch of confusion that follows as he listens to her.]

... blow up a planet. Blow up a -- [He motions behind him, maybe not in the true direction of but indicating in movement rather than voice the planet they are currently in orbit around.] -- but it's huge!

You're right. It is. [Natasha hadn't quite expected to be the first person to bring this up.] And saying blow it up might be somewhat hyperbolic. But a fair number of the worlds we've stopped on have ended up in some kind of existential crisis.

[He blinks for a moment as it sinks in. He's just had to get used to the idea of planets, lots of them, all over the place, and now he's trying to wrap his head around the idea of something with enough juice to smash such a big thing in.]

... so you've seen it happen?

Wait, excuse me, hold on. Hello. I'm Hawke.

[Adalwolfe's face takes up the whole frame.]

Are you a dragon?

Oh, uh, [He chuckles and taps his knees with his talons for a moment. Sure, dragonborns weren't exactly common everywhere on his world, but at least people knew what they were. This here was a new experience entirely.]

Dragonborn, rather. I guess, sort of decended from. Ancient history. Such an expanse of time that breeds legend and myth. You; you're a human, right?

Why did you even get on one of those rides in the first place? Way too creepy.

[He shrugs.] I was curious. It looked like fun. I mean, it was fun - stuck bit notwithstanding. Might go back again tomorrow.

Why in the world do you want to go back? You could get stuck again, or... or who knows what could happen to you! I mean, jeez...

I only got stuck, not like I lost any limbs or anything. Besides, a little bit of unknowing can be fun in its own way. Do you want to join me?
