Magic Lessons et al!
Who: Axel and Anybody, really
Broadcast: None planned
Action: On the Tourist
When: The week of April 5-11
[Axel is actually pretty stoked about giving magic lessons. Even if he's not certain Hiro and Steven will be able to produce magic, it'll be kind of nice to do this again. Showing Roxas the ropes and helping him grow and learn had been a really important part of his life, and he hadn't even fully realized it until Roxas was gone. Roxas had given him a purpose beyond just being the Organization's go-to guy when they needed a job done quick and clean, and that's something he misses. He misses purpose. Well, if a Nobody can miss such things. If a Nobody can miss anything.
[No, he's certain he misses it. He's certain he misses Roxas, too.
[He gave Steven and Hiro open invitations to drop in whenever they had time, so whenever they show up, the lesson can begin! He also gave Kaneis an invitation to pop in to try an orange, since he needs to be educated on such things. Basically, the Tourist is too quiet a lot of the time, so Axel doesn't mind visitors. Wanna hang out? Come on by!]

Yeah, I'm... Hiro. Right.
[ok but you have a big gemstone in your stomach why.]
no subject
[He pats his stomach fondly once or twice-- pat, pat-- before glancing between them.]
Hey, Hiro, can you do magic?
remembers to hit post hours later
[he looks over at the wall.]
I've been learning how to do ninja stuff, though.
no subject
[He looks intrigued then.]
Define 'ninja stuff'.
no subject
[He looks quite impressed; already Hiro is in high esteem.]

[he takes a second to breathe, and... runs at the wall. and then he's running up the wall. and then he slowly... very slowly steps onto the ceiling. aaand now he's upside-down.]
This kind of thing, so far.
no subject
That's... How are you even doing that?
[Magnets? Duct tape? Obscene amounts of chewing gum?]
no subject
[Steven shouts that out, far too excited not to, and stares up at Hiro. Magic, clearly, is how he's doing this; it's the only explanation.]
no subject
[and since he hasn't even really attempted the whole "moving blood away from his head" thing yet, he's gonna just. flip down and stick the landing as best as he can. he's still a little shaky.]
Pretty sick, right?
no subject
That's quite a trick. I might wind up taking lessons from you sometime.
[He rolls his shoulders back and cracks his knuckles then.]
So I guess it's my turn to show off now, huh? [He's already shown Steven the basics of Fire, but here in the empty cargo bay he can get a little more creative. He moves about ten feet away from the boys to stand in the middle of the room, then holds his hands out and spreads his fingers. Two balls of flame come to his hands, growing from about the size of a walnut to the size of a soccer ball, and then he drops to one knee in a circular motion, dragging his hands across the floor. Axel is now standing in a ring of fire, and looking pleased with himself.]

That's awesome, Axel! And really useful! How much can you do before you get tired?
no subject
[he stays silent so that axel can respond to steven, but that also may be contributed to the fact that hiro can't find words for how amazing this is.]
no subject
It is pretty useful, that's for sure. Never have to worry about rubbing sticks together when I wanna make a campfire! [He taps his chin then.] Mm, it depends on what I'm doing, and how much I'm doing at once. I've been practicing with magic for more than ten years, though, so I can do a lot before I get worn out. Stamina's something you pick up with time and practice; it can be pretty draining at first.
Whaddaya say, you guys wanna give it a go?

[He sweeps one hand through the air and conjures up a little flame, about the size of a golf ball.]
For something like this, try and think about what a... candle feels like. Just that one little flame, in a dark room, think about what that means. However that feels to you, concentrate on that. And don't worry--a flame you make yourself won't hurt you just holding it like this. [Sure, if you set your shirt on fire it'll hurt, but until you've cast it away the fire won't burn you.]
no subject
(He can't do it-- partially because, once he opens his eyes, he can't help but glance over at Hiro to see if he's done it yet).]
no subject
[well, this lesson's not going to go well.
[for hiro, it doesn't feel like anything good. even a candle's flame turns into something all-encompassing and indiscriminately dangerous when he really gets down to "feeling" it.
[he tries, for a moment, to summon something in front of him, to pool that energy, but he gets nothing with the static his memories with the element cause. eventually, he drops his hands.]
no subject
Don't worry about it too much, guys; it took me a few days to figure it out, and I'm an old pro now. It just takes practice. [He places a hand over his chest. Not his heart (would that he had one), but dead center.] You'll start to feel it, when you're going in the right direction. It feels kinda like... pressure, but from the inside. It doesn't hurt, but you can definitely feel something there, like energy that's all welled up. You've just gotta figure out how to let it out.
[He furrows his brow a little at Hiro then.]
You all right there, kiddo? This ain't supposed to be homework or anything, you're allowed to have fun...
no subject
[He reaches over, touching his arm gently.]
