[The stores do draw him, but the homes are an easy source for home goods. Not that scavenging was his goal when he arrived here - the empty houses were at first a mere curiosity and a search for clues about who may have been here first - but the temptation is far too much in the long run.

As Tempest approaches one such building, Felix exits the front door - his arms laden with what appears to be a set of heavy drapes. He's moderately taken aback to not find himself alone, and fumbles with the folds of cloth in his surprise.]

Oh...ah...Tempest. Fancy meeting you here.

[she certainly hadn't expected the door to open as she approached either, and the magic she begins to call up in her mind is quickly dismissed when she realizes who it is]]

Felix, hello. Goodness, you startled me a bit.

[He isn't nearly as quick with that as she is. Magic, for him, is generally a matter of pre-planning and not spontaneity. Generally.

He clears his throat]

Not a place one would typically expect company, yes. What bring you out here?

I am looking for supplies, mostly. Anything the ship may need, or items for my pets.

[you know, given her small, slowly growing army in her room. She raises an eyebrow at what he's carrying] I take it you are doing the same, more or less?

Ah...more or less. Shopping for the essentials on other planets usually means that I have little else to spare for smaller comforts, but as budget is not an issue it seemed prudent to take advantage of the opportunity.

[Meaning he usually spends most of his credits on clothes, books, and alcohol.]

I did come here hoping to learn more about the people who lived here before. I...may have gotten distracted.

So I see. Though I would not consider drapes a comfort nor an essential.

[and she gives said drapes a pointed look] Especially given we are in space.

[He lifts his chin, mildly offended] I'm not sure what that has to do with it. I find the walls cold and I'm tired of looking at them. I consider anything that will help with that both of those things.

Well . . . the walls are cold. [she's taking it literally] Do you intend to warm them up with your drapes?

[Well, it is literally true, but that's only part of his concern]

That is the general idea. And they could be rotated on occasion for different looks. Or perhaps they'll be bedcurtains. I haven't decided. I think I'll have to take a shuttle down here and divest the place of furniture. The library could use an update as well.

I . . . see. [no, no she doesn't] I suppose I do not see the point in . . . caring about decoration?
