[He doesn't feel good about her weapon of choice but now isn't the time to question it. Kaidan nods at the gesture, then jogs quickly in the direction she'd indicated. This time he makes no effort to move stealthily - it's about getting noticed. His boots kick up pebbles and sand as he goes.]

Hey! Other here! [Frankly, he's not sure this will work. It might be ugly as all hell but it doesn't look like it's a predator animal, but it's better safe and than sorry.]

[ It might not be a predator, but it's definitely confused enough by the noise and the shouting that it blurbles and wobbles and kind of... blunders its way in that direction while making a very strange noise. Jayden takes the opportunity, stands, pushes her arc lightning through her arms and around the arrow before loosing it--

-- She hits the thing in the back of, erm, one of its heads. Was that a head? There's eyes, she thinks ugh, whatever. Point is! She hit it! And it flails in place, convulsing from the shock. She puts her bow down, grabs her shotgun instead, and heads over to Kaidan's side. She keeps her eyes on it, but it doesn't seem to be reorienting itself just yet. ]

Thanks. Target practice got... weird.

[He's seriously starting consider just taking it out himself when the arrow slams into it with a splorch and jolt of lighting that he certainly did not expect but...]

[He moves cautiously towards the beast]

[ She follows behind him, ready to react if it suddenly blobbles back onto its many, many hooves. Clearly between the two of them, they're gonna be just fine. Still... ]

[ It didn't seem dangerous, after the initial shock factor of "what the fuck is that thing what the fuck" wore off, but... who can say? ]

[If nothing else, to put it out of it's misery. He raises his rifle at one of the heads, then pauses to wait for her to do the same]

[There's a loud explosion of gore across the sand, but the antelope-thing stops moving for good. Kaidan safeties his rifle with a sigh.]

You know...I've been to a lot of different planets...even before I came here. And I've seen a lot of alien wildlife, and lot of it isn't pretty. But this...just looks like something went wrong somewhere.

[ Jayden slings her shotgun back over her shoulder and crosses her arms. ]

So have I - and I agree. Wouldn't be surprised if we find out something did go wrong. City's empty, after all...

[ She looks back down at it. ]

... Nothing would just evolve this way. Right?
