Welcome to the Lone Breaker System. The planet consists of a single ghost town that replenishes its stock daily, and a desert that does not. There are quite a few points of interest, no consequences, and a mystery to be investigated!

Hoooh. [it's a soft sound, impressed by his work] Can you save them to your device, too? Surely someone has figured out how to transfer files.

[He smiles, happy with her reaction.] I haven't tried, honestly. But I bet I could figure it out! Mostly I keep them on the cards or print them.

You can print them? That's cool. Your camera is a lot better than the one we've got on the devices, though. You must get a lot of interesting shots.

Yeah! I found a printer on that one planet that was mostly city. [The trick was stocking up on paper and ink whenever we found some, just in case their next landing was lacking.] Well, beauty is the eye of the beholder.

That's lucky. I'm surprised printers exist in this world - everything is surprisingly advanced in some places. [her lips twitch, almost a smile] That's true.

I was, too, but I'm glad they do! I've been selling prints to locals on the good planets. [Not the murder planets.] No one to sell to but the Fleet this time around.

Ahh, that's unfortunate. But at least you can get pretty shots here to sell elsewhere, right?

That's the plan! [He gives his camera a little tap.] Even if no one wants them, I like having the memories.

That's a good way to think about it.

Thanks! [He grins and fiddles with the settings on his camera.] So what have you been up to on this creepy ghost planet?

It is creepy, isn't it? I don't like it at all. [she shrugs] I've been looking around. Looking into why this place is like this. Shopping. [...] Even if the clothes aren't very cute.

The clothes here beat what we get on the ships, at least. [Still, he did't do a lot of clothes shopping here.] Did you find anything? About why this place is the way it is?

There is that. [but she shakes her head at the question] Not yet. Aside from the original inhabitants aren't here anymore - I thought maybe they would have been hiding somewhere, but - there's no dreams. Just the fleet's.

Creepier and creepier. Think they all up and left?

It's possible. But it's also possible they all died, too.

They've left behind something powerful enough to reset an entire city. You don't just leave that kind of technology behind.

I guess that's true... [He frowns hard.] But if they didn't leave, then ... what could have killed so many people? [And was it still around?]

There's too many possibilities to list them. But I don't think it's a threat now - there wouldn't be animals around if that were the case. They're good at figuring out something's wrong long before we would.

Is that true? [He doesn't spend a lot of time around animals. There wasn't a lot of nature in the city. And the nature they encountered on the road was usually bent on killing them (or vice versa).] No threat would be nice. Would be nicer to have some answers though.

[her lips twitch into a faint smile] It's true. Animals have a sense for danger far stronger than humans do. If you're ever in the woods and it becomes quiet, there's likely a predator around - or something else. [the smile is gone as quickly as it appears] It would. Hopefully we get one before we leave.

That's a good survival tip! I'll have to remember that. [He nods.] Well, until then, might as well make the best of what we've been given. How's your ship doing on supplies?

I think we're doing all right. I try to keep things stocked for everyone, just in case. It helps that I can go early after the reset, since I don't sleep. What about your ship?

That’s good. Let me know if that changes and you need any help, okay? [He shrugs.] I think we’re doing good. Feels kinda weird just taking stuff, but our kitchen’s going to be well-stocked for a while, that’s for sure.

Mmm, it's a little weird, but . . . no one's here, so I don't think anyone would be angry. But I'll let you know - let me know too, if you guys need help, okay?

Sure hope not... [He's seen enough horror films. You never know.] Thanks! I will. In the meantime, wanna help me find more weird critters for my collection?

I'd love to. [she's easy to please, and simple offers like hanging out with someone is enough to brighten her usual deadpan nature] I know where some of them like to graze? But we'd have to be careful, they're jumpy.
