Action: Lone Breaker System
When: The fleet will be in this system from 3/10 to 4/14

Welcome to the Lone Breaker System. The planet consists of a single ghost town that replenishes its stock daily, and a desert that does not. There are quite a few points of interest, no consequences, and a mystery to be investigated!

More system info is here!

[...yes, sharing is good, but... wait.

Why is bravery involved in hunting? Katara's Sister Senses are tingling. (then again, they haven't really stopped since this whole 'fight me to become my bethrothed' conversation happened, but this is a different frequency, the far more familiar: What did my brother get into now frequency.)]

That's great! What were you hunting?

Giant serpents! Well, giant by their standards at least.

[Unsurprisingly, the universe where someone like Looma wasn't all that unusual also had giant terrifying monsters in it that dwarfed anything they'd seen here so far.]

The locals warned us of them. They said it was just as likely they would hunt us! Sokka handled himself well, given the obvious danger. I imagine he might have counted as a snack, had they managed to sink their teeth into him.

[Yeah, she knew it.

/sigh.]

How giant were they?

[Like... Unagi-sized? Bigger? Smaller?]

[She has to pause before answering that, if only because, well...she knows even dealing with the humans she was familiar with, there was no guarantee that any units of measurement would be common between them. But she figures out a way to answer that question soon enough!]

Nearly three times as long as I am tall! Even the head alone was only barely shorter than your arm!

[There's a comforting picture, maybe don't dwell on it.]

[Okay, give her a second to process that...

Again, not as bad as she'd thought. Definitely could be worse. Unless they went against a whole nest of them. Tell her you didn't go up against a whole nest of them.]

That's pretty impressive! Did they travel on their own?

[Please tell her they traveled on their own.]
tough_love: (REALLY exciting~)

Sometimes! It was more common to encounter two or three of them at a time. I believe those were the younger creatures- the ones encountered alone were typically the largest, and the most dangerous.

[And the most fun, but Looma's aware she had a durability advantage most humans did not. She could take a few bites no problem, humans on the other hand...]

They were likely the oldest, and knew how to best use their surroundings to their advantage. Also more likely to try isolating us, for an easier kill!

[She is entirely too giddy about fond recollections of how monster snakes were trying to eat them for this to be healthy.]

Well... I'm glad neither of you had to take on one of those snakes alone. At home, in the spring, the men of my village used to go whaling. Some of the whales were almost as big as snakes you describe, and in the ocean they'd be just as dangerous. Working together was very important in order for everyone to come back safely.

[So... hunting giant things - not all that uncommon to her worldview. Gleeing at how they almost were eaten... a biiiiiiiiiiit moreso.]
