How bad it was or wasn't doesn't matter. It's that anything happened at all! I don't ever need to see such personal things...

[His hands at his sides now, because... now he's much less angry and feels bad more than anything.]

Some memories aren't meant to be known or seen by others.

Well, I'm glad you feel that way. Thank you. [It was nice to know that people didn't like when they were unknowingly forced to view someone's private thoughts.]

But I am always willing to talk if you did see something that made you uncomfortable. [He won't enjoy the talk, but he will talk willing about it if someone approaches him.]

Besides, [He slides a donut closer to Chuuya.] Are you really going to let them win?

The only thing I will say about it is this: It's good to remember your past, and I do hope that you never forget it. But I hope you don't let it hold you back from living life the way you would like.

[He says, staring at the donuts with disgust.]

Do I strike you as the type of man who doesn't live my life the way I want to? [Said with a bit of a smirk as he stuffs another donut into his mouth.

Although, in reality, he was letting his past define how he lives his life. Seeing as his whole life has become about living as Rem would. Not that he sees it that way.]

[He crosses his arms, staring at Vash. Serious expression.]

You do remind me entirely too much of an old friend. Or, I should say, former friend. With a person like him... I've had to learn to read a person's eyes, smile... and go deeper than what is on the surface.

A former friend? Sorry to hear about the former part.

So? What do you see when you look into my eyes? [One person once said to him:

You were always smiling, real friendly like, but the way you smiled was so empty it hurt to watch you.

It was rare when someone saw through his mask. He couldn't help but be curious by what Chuuya saw now. How careful was his mask? What weaknesses did he show?]

I'm not gonna stand here and talk about that sort of thing with you in a place like this.

[He realizes he started the conversation, but he looks at the donuts and remembers where they are. He scratches the side of his head.]

So, uh, do you mind picking me up one of the white frosted donuts? I'll give donuts another chance. I'm no quitter.

That's the spirit! [Vash reaches down and picks up the requested donut. Finding a plate to put it on before sliding it towards Chuuya.] Now, remember, you can't blame me if it's got a weird citrus taste.

[He narrows his eyes at Vash. Just. What.]

What do you mean by weird? Citrus isn't usually weird... unless something was done to it.

[Suspiciously staring at Vash.]

Maybe I don't want it after all.

Have you not tried to eat anything here yet? [Vash blinks in surprise. He really shouldn't be that surprise. Not everyone is a glutton for food like Vash is.] Well, you're about to find out. All the found around here as a small citrus taste to it. Eat an apple? Citrus. Eat a hot dog? Citrus. Eat an orange... well, citrus-- bad example, but you get what I mean.

Or at least, I haven't found anything that doesn't have that citrus taste to it. The donuts aren't too bad with it. Kind of nice.

Don't worry about what I've been eating. [Not that he thinks Vash was worried, but still, he can't give away all his secrets!] That's strange - now I understand why people have been wary of eating in this place. Perhaps it's one of those cultural things, similar to how some place like their cheese aged and some like their breads sweetened.

It could be. Or it could be a side of effect of whatever causes all the reboots around here.

Hard to say for the moment. [Vash throws a bit more donut into his mouth and talks with his mouth full.] It certainly is a bit of a mystery that needs to be solved still at the moment!
