Welcome to the Lone Breaker System. The planet consists of a single ghost town that replenishes its stock daily, and a desert that does not. There are quite a few points of interest, no consequences, and a mystery to be investigated!

No. The best thing to do is approach it warily and take what we can.

[ There's no real sympathy in Loki's face. He doesn't have the empathy to feel for a people long gone. Why would he? ]

They can't use it, wherever they are. Dead, probably. It would fit the mold of what we've run into in the past.

What mold?

Death and destruction. There was a planet a few months ago we had to evacuate to a local waystation because of a meteor. The next few generations might be able to live there once everything settles. The planet after that was full of cannibals who shot down half the fleet while the rest of us were stuck in the sky.

Assholes tried to board the ships for sacrifices, but we held them off okay. There were some old fleet members that came to help, though I've never seen them before.

So the worlds vary in terms of intensity?

Yeah. The one before this was nice. There were three planets and they all had their own weather. It was a good place to stock up. Nothing bad happened.

[ Hmm. ]

So the planets we are taken to . . . they're not random.

I really don't think they are. Not at this point.

[ He nods. ]

Are there records in the Fleet? I'd like to look at them.

They're posted to the network. I know there are physical copies of things that others have found out in the library, too. One of the other captains may have their own hard copy.

[ He grimaces. ]

They shouldn't be that hard to track down. Having a physical copy is a little harder for the Atroma to mess with, at least.

Is there a physical copy?

There should be one in the library. People have been collaborating on it for a long time, now. It would be stupid to keep everything we find on the planets on our communicators.

[ That's true, but it wouldn't surprise him. ]

There should be network posts of things happening, too. Like the planet of cannibals after communications went back up, and the rogue fleet members who showed up.

I would prefer not to scroll through months of nonsense just to find what I need.

I don't blame you. It would get boring after a while. The captains might have more information than I do.

The captains?

Yeah, the captains of the other ships. They tend to get involved when shit happens.
