[He takes the dismissive gesture as such and doesn't pry; he doesn't usually do this much talking, and it's starting to feel like an interrogation, which he doesn't want... yet. Kaname might get mad if he went that far for no reason.

Instead he takes another shot- the last shot- and stands up, this time opting to be the one to head over and set up the targets. Still on guard, of course, but just... checking.]

By the time Messer gets back from resetting the targets, he's bouncing from one foot to the other. Not quite impatient, but standing still is not his favorite.]

You said you protect Kaname. Does that make you a bodyguard back home?

[Messer is briefly taken aback by the question- it's entirely logical, but he'd assumed Kaname would have explained the nature of their relationship already. She's probably just respecting his privacy or something, though he'd hardly use the word private for any of it.

I- [-was-] I'm a pilot. Each member of the Walkure group was assigned a pilot for protection, transportation, and to perform in an accompanying air show. I was Kaname's.

[He'd been in big, clunky air ships, and once figured out how to operate a smaller flying vehicle (it was a rush, but also terrifying).]

Air shows? So you must be really good!

Our performance was little more than supplemental- the focus was always ensuring Walkure could work unhindered.

[He looks over Messer for a brief second, then nods decisively.]
