[IT LOOKS RICKETY AND FREAKY AND STOP! CLIMBING IT! And don't even think about riding it, either! He doesn't like that Sorey's answer wasn't a "no".]

I'm not a- a rabbit! Just because I don't run headlong into machinery that looks designed to kill someone...!

Sorey gives him an irritated look, brushing himself off as he carefully navigates across the ice back onto dry stone.] If it really bugs you that much, I won't try the rides around here. Even though there's no possible way I could get hurt on them even if they were designed for it.

You can't be certain of anything. This place could be riddled with traps, and you're way too happy to just charge right in blind.

There's no malevolence here, Mikleo. No hellions. No darkness, can't you feel it? [Maybe he really can't. He's in Sorey's domain, part of his domain, but Lailah had said that Sorey's Shepherd powers would only get stronger. Maybe Maotelus has something to do with it.] I dunno...maybe I'm imagining it, but a place like this feels like it was full of joy, when it had people inside of it.

That's the problem, though. Full of joy, when it had people. The absence of malevolence means it's as empty as it looks... no citizens, no visitors, no hiding population. Whatever happened here took everyone, and we don't know why.
[That stupid roller coaster made him nervous, sure, but it's just one small piece of the bigger puzzle.]
Truth is, I'd feel better if there was malevolence. Even just a little. It'd make this place halfway normal. Cities shouldn't feel like this.

Thinking of them as ruins is...easier.]
Sometimes... [Sorey says quietly, in a voice maybe like his and maybe not like his, eyes tracking over the rides, looking a little far away as he remembers bright light mottled with darkness on a Throne a million miles and years away,] -sometimes the only thing you can take comfort in is the absence of suffering.
no subject
With a quiet, weary exhale, he dissolves into light and phases into Sorey's body, nestling quietly in his corner of his vessel's soul- filling it more than usual with his presence, though, like outstretched arms trying to spread across too-distant corners. The others aren't here right now, and even the sensation of Maotelus's connection is too far away to be invasive. Right now it's just him.]
"Can we look somewhere else? I don't want to stay here."
no subject
The stretch Mikleo gives inside his soul is possessive, needy. Everything he can't say aloud.]
...yeah, [Sorey murmurs, pressing a palm flat to his chest. I'm here with you.] Let's go check out the library. Got to be a ton of new books there, right?
no subject
[A library sounds like just what they need. Sorey's voice and acceptance is comfort enough for now, and the prospect of books and a slice of normalcy is more to look forward to, so he falls into a soft, comfortable silence. He'll come back out when they reach their destination, but for now... he wants to stay right where he is, selfish and indulgent.]
