Who: Ben and you folks
Broadcast: Yes
Action: SS Huntress
When: now
action; SS Huntress
[Ben doesn't take teleportation well. In fact, if the confetti and the music didn't tip the ship off, the loud cursing probably does - there you go, Huntress, your security officer is here]
What the fuck—give a guy some fuckin' warning next time, geez! God damn teleporting bullshit.
[once he's calmed down, though - and picked up some of the pudding because far be it from him to turn down free food - he's wandering the ship, peeking his head into rooms to see what's what]
broadcast;
[once he's somewhat settled in and found a place to sit and digest everything going on, Ben decides to set up a broadcast to get some Shit Done]
Anyone here good with cybernetics? Or - I don't know, computers? Advanced stuff, can give you the specfics if you're interested. Don't need you right now, I'm just covering my ass just in case.
[he pauses, and maybe realizes he should . . . introduce himself. Like a normal person would. You know, instead of just getting down to business]
Uh - anyway, name's Ben; if you don't know shit about cybernetics . . . I don't know, come tell me about the weird crap going on here. Or stuff I should know. I like being informed.

[Basically don't be an asshole, though he's a tad too polite to say it that way.]

[Humans can be pretty dumb, though, so who really knows.]

[...] Weird question - how soundproof are the walls? Uh, just in case.
no subject
Not very, I'm afraid. One of our former residents was working towards soundproofing his room, but I don't know how far he got with it, or if the modification would even carry over after he left. The fleet's weird like that.
[Plus he's not sure he recalls which room it was anymore. Been a while.]

Something you need soundproofing for?
no subject
I mean, I don't need it, I just - uh, don't sleep well. Sometimes I really don't sleep well.
no subject
I confess, that's... not entirely uncommon on this ship. We've all been through a lot.
[Here, back home- plenty of phantoms to carry around in one's head.]
This may be a small consolation to you, but we seraphim don't actually need to sleep. If you find yourself awake at night and in need of company, we might at least be able to offer you that.

[but they're all - they all seem so young to him. What the hell world do these kids come from?]
But that's - uh, thanks. [why is everyone so nice] For the offer, that is. I don't - do the company thing that well, but - if I'm up and around I won't say no to someone to talk to, I guess.
no subject
Certainly. I like to think that most of us are happy to help.
[Actually on second thought maybe he'd better not rush to meet that one.]

[he answers a little roughly, but it's . . . well he'll never admit to it, but it's kind of nice. Maybe]
no subject
Is there anything else you need help with for the moment? Questions, a tour, a hot meal?
no subject
Uh - nah, I think I'm good now. I'm all out of questions - if you just wanna - leopard-gesture me towards a free room and the direction of the kitchen, I think I can figure out the rest.

Mikleo glances over at the cat, still idly grooming himself, and it clicks.]
Ah- here.
[The kitten is abruptly, invisibly lifted into the air, where he stares wide-eyed at Ben as his little paws are pointed first in one direction, then another.]
Down that hall are the bunks. The ones occupied are already labeled, so just pick whichever one is empty. And that hall heads towards the kitchen, pass one intersection and take a left. It's open so you can't miss it.
[Happy exploring! The cat's paw waves.]
no subject
Got it. Thanks for talk, hopefully you won't be invisible to me for too long, or however the hell it works.
no subject
Mikleo chuckles briefly, though he does try to juggle the cat away from clawing too aggressively.]
I'm sure it'll be fine. And if not, we have ways around the inconvenience.
no subject
Yeah, that's true. There's always a work around.
no subject
Until then, enjoy your stay on the Huntress. I'll see you around.
[And -click- goes the comm, since he doesn't need it on to hear any kind of response. He's a little tired of the echo that always happens when he has to use it in person.]
