Action/Voice. Sherlock Sam and the Funky Bunch
Who: Sam Winchester
Broadcast: Fleetwide Video
Action: Planetside
When: Throughout end of March.
[Action. OPTION A. (At Some Point Earlier in March)]
[Being soulless had not been the worst thing in the world for Sam. There's worse to glitch to. But when he wakes up one morning fully resouled and with every memory of being either a pervert or an ass, he resolves to groan into his hands and wish to go back to sleep for a few years. But life's not nearly so generous to a Winchester, so sooner or later he's up and around the fleet again (trying to pretend he didn't hit on someone who is like a sister, or insult everyone's hair, or make out with a friend. Oh god. Regardless, he is... around. Gym, The Space bar to work, the Bloodsport.
He's Sam again. Like, sappy furrow-browed Sam. Thank god?]
[Action. OPTION B. (Later in March)]
[When they land on the planet, Sam's instantly skeptical. It means he should be digging around in whatever has bodies of literature, obviously - so he's in the library, nose-deep, brow wrinkled in deep thought where he scours over blueprints, informational works, and so on. Feel free to break his concentration or make him go sleep or eat, because he's kinda getting really involved in living in this damn library.]
Voice.
Hey, guys. I think I've got something that'll help us. So this place - Nariba Relia, it was some passion project with regards to settling down and making a planet inhabitable. Actually, that's kind of what we're used to, right? Planets that aren't quite as inhabitable, people adapting where needed. Anyway, they were working on this replicator tech - I'm assuming that's the replacement of already used supplies, like we've been seeing in town.
There's not much else here that talks about it, but it's at least something... I've found a few blueprints here, too - if anyone wants to look into them, I'm more than happy to pass off whatever I come across so we can find where the hell the people here went. I, um. I also wonder if the fleet... uses something similar to replicator technology?
I mean, we always seem stocked with particular foods, don't we? In the kitchens. Sure, we can bring our own foods aboard the ships, but I've always wondered how they restocked the basic gels and all that. If we were on typical spaceships from home, I'm sure we'd have run out of rations by now, right? It's just a thought.
Anyone interested in sifting through these blueprints with me? There are a hell of a lot; a whole town's worth, and all that.
Maybe we can get something out of them that we could have from Nariba Relia's citizens.
[AKA feel free to find any information you need through these blueprints he's got laid out.
Also please dear god don't mention the soulless thing.]

With another hand, he thumps a fist on his chest, clearing his throat.]
I'm fine, I'm fine... Sorry, just went down wrong. I'm clearly the pinnacle of functionality today.

He slowly sits back down, hand resting on one of the books before he pulls it over to himself so that Sam isn't distracted by it and eats his damn sandwich.] You're overtaxing yourself. You could ask for my help.
no subject
I know that.
I guess I overdo it when I get the chance now, with how little work there is out in the middle of endless space.
[He is relenting and eating his sandwich more now; happy???]
... But, um... If you'd like to help, I always enjoy the company.

Cas gives a little roll of his eyes a la Dean and just starts paging through the book while Sam eats. He can small the lack of shower on Sam, though thankfully by now he's come to realize it's impolite to tell someone "you are very unwashed" thanks to his time on the street and having been unwashed himself. It's just not nice.]
What do you want to find in these records, Sam? [Cas asks, though it doesn't entirely sound like he's looking for some direction.]

He pats his hand on the papers scattered on the table.]
Anything, at this point.
[He figures Cas knows he's trying to find the missing townsfolk; typical Winchester casework, typical bleeding heart concern for what the fuck happened on a planet he'll only be on for another few weeks, thanks to the Atroma.]
We can't investigate here forever; we're on a timer.

[Whoever was here is dead and gone, man.]

We can't stop until we have proof.
... Then at that point, it's a matter of making sure that, uh... if we do find them on this planet — we'd want to make sure they're at peace. [He taps a pen to his forehead, eyeing his at least half-eaten sandwich. Look how well he's doing!!] The last universe I was in had a similar issue, only it was completely abandoned. We only knew what happened when their ghosts started walking the village.

Researching for days without hardly any food or sleep because of a strict in-system timetable, for example.]

He stops for a second to tie it back, still scowling down in deep thought at the blue prints scattered in front of him like it's a puzzle missing a few pieces; it's never stopped him before, okay? And the sandwich, afterward, is completely wiped out. RIP.]
Man, this isn't even the first time technology on these planets have completely backfired... Some of the other planets we've visited have had issues being sustainable, too. We've had to fix a lot of problems elsewhere, anyway.

Thematic, [he notes tonelessly.] Does the pattern seem intentional?
no subject
I feel like it's no coincidence.
I'm just not sure if it's really for 'television'.
