Action/Voice. Sherlock Sam and the Funky Bunch
Who: Sam Winchester
Broadcast: Fleetwide Video
Action: Planetside
When: Throughout end of March.
[Action. OPTION A. (At Some Point Earlier in March)]
[Being soulless had not been the worst thing in the world for Sam. There's worse to glitch to. But when he wakes up one morning fully resouled and with every memory of being either a pervert or an ass, he resolves to groan into his hands and wish to go back to sleep for a few years. But life's not nearly so generous to a Winchester, so sooner or later he's up and around the fleet again (trying to pretend he didn't hit on someone who is like a sister, or insult everyone's hair, or make out with a friend. Oh god. Regardless, he is... around. Gym, The Space bar to work, the Bloodsport.
He's Sam again. Like, sappy furrow-browed Sam. Thank god?]
[Action. OPTION B. (Later in March)]
[When they land on the planet, Sam's instantly skeptical. It means he should be digging around in whatever has bodies of literature, obviously - so he's in the library, nose-deep, brow wrinkled in deep thought where he scours over blueprints, informational works, and so on. Feel free to break his concentration or make him go sleep or eat, because he's kinda getting really involved in living in this damn library.]
Voice.
Hey, guys. I think I've got something that'll help us. So this place - Nariba Relia, it was some passion project with regards to settling down and making a planet inhabitable. Actually, that's kind of what we're used to, right? Planets that aren't quite as inhabitable, people adapting where needed. Anyway, they were working on this replicator tech - I'm assuming that's the replacement of already used supplies, like we've been seeing in town.
There's not much else here that talks about it, but it's at least something... I've found a few blueprints here, too - if anyone wants to look into them, I'm more than happy to pass off whatever I come across so we can find where the hell the people here went. I, um. I also wonder if the fleet... uses something similar to replicator technology?
I mean, we always seem stocked with particular foods, don't we? In the kitchens. Sure, we can bring our own foods aboard the ships, but I've always wondered how they restocked the basic gels and all that. If we were on typical spaceships from home, I'm sure we'd have run out of rations by now, right? It's just a thought.
Anyone interested in sifting through these blueprints with me? There are a hell of a lot; a whole town's worth, and all that.
Maybe we can get something out of them that we could have from Nariba Relia's citizens.
[AKA feel free to find any information you need through these blueprints he's got laid out.
Also please dear god don't mention the soulless thing.]

No, just... trying to take potshots at myself and failing miserably.
I've had bad luck with anything remotely romantic. Not that — what we did was romantic! I mean, it was nice and - and you were nice, really great, but I'm not really... I wasn't my usual self...
[He looks like he's going to die. That's him, Sam, gonna die for the twentieth time.]

It's okay. I get it. My track record was pretty terrible until Winn. Who is practically perfect in all the ways except being here. [She feels a little bad not giving Reid more credit. Things had been really good. Their break just...broke so badly and she'd rather not go into any of that.]
And I'm really, really not over him at all, but it's also been soooo many months and what happened with me and not-quite-you was...all of those things you said. [She smiles a little and actually blushes slightly. Be proud, Sam, the Kitty blush is a somewhat rare sighting.]
no subject
I guess — right place, right time? For a quick rebound kiss.
[He smiles a little.]
I wanted to at least... be transparent. My track record is a literal dumpster fire, so I can definitely relate. And I'm not bothered by what we did or anything, just... that I wasn't honest about it at the time. Or that I wasn't... all there.
Literally. All there.
[He huffs, finding some humor in it.]
no subject
And I wasn't honest either. I mean, I was all there—tangible and everything—but I didn't say anything about Winn or where I was with things and it just kind of felt nice letting it get out of hand and not thinking about it for awhile I guess. [She's almost surprised it didn't go further.]
I'm glad you're not bothered, I mean, I did kind of accidentally take advantage of you I think? Or I don't know. I feel like I should have seen the signals saying something was different with you.
no subject
No way. It's not like you hit me with a spell or love potion or - whatever. It was still me enough, so... it's all good, really. [A pause.] We're good, then, right...? Still friends?
[That was his biggest concern. Messing with a good friendship.
He doesn't get a lot of those inside the workplace, y'know?]
no subject
Hey, all the stuff we talked about? Was that all true? [She figures a guy without a soul probably doesn't mind lying now and then. And it wasn't exactly happy stuff, but she did feel closer to him talking about it. The attraction wasn't only the hotness and availability.]
no subject
Yeah. It was true enough... Though, uh. I'm not as good at dealing with baggage as a soulless man.
[He laughs weakly.]
no subject
no subject
Got it. Sounds like me when I'm drunk at happy hour.
[put me out of my misery]
Uh. I hope you don't mind dealing with this guy more.
[He gestures to himself.]
no subject
And of course I like this version of you. I always have. Plus, you've never hunted me which definitely gets you bonus points.
no subject
I've gotten that a few times. I know our reputation is pretty crappy, but... I don't just, uh. I don't just hunt anybody, you know? I hunt killers. [He sighs, rolling his eyes.] Though I guess I kinda let some people slide depending. Um. It's complicated.
no subject
If it wasn't complicated I'd be worried.
no subject
... Sorry about Dean, then. I know he's — blunt.
And... kind of an asshole sometimes, about these things.
[It's not a secret, Dean Winchester is bad at being cool with the supernatural.
There are very few exceptions.]
no subject
And none of that is on you.
[She would definitely balk at being listed as "supernatural."]
no subject
[He smiles a little more naturally, the air about him less anxious.]
no subject
[Her expression softens a little.] I'm sorry he's not here.
[Pause.] Okay, I guess I probably should have gone with, "I'm sorry you're not back home with him."
no subject
[A shrug, and he looks regretful about that; he knows this place isn't great, not really. There is a lot of calmness compared to home, but they're still held against their will. It's just... god, home can be shitty.]
... I'd prefer he be here.
no subject
I mean, if I was still alive there I don't know...I might choose to go back and keep trying to make things better, but I can't say I don't prefer it here. [Especially when she was with Winn, but even now.]
1/2
Well, in that case... Let's try to enjoy it while it lasts.
no subject
[He flusters. Just a little. Dammit.]
no subject
no subject
[He clears his throat, recognizing the trap he's been teased into. The flustering persists, like ebola, thanks.]
I mean, anybody who argues that is probably legally blind.
no subject
Thanks, Sam. And no worries. I'm in agreement with letting it end where it started. I'm kind of a mess right now anyway. [Yes, someone is worried about being too much of a mess for you, Sam. Soak it in.]
no subject
Don't worry, I'm sure I've got you beat there.
Which I'm hoping isn't the kind of competition you're looking for.
