Excuse me? Hello! Ah... [She was excited that she finally got her line working to the fleet, but now that she's actually addressing everyone she feels a bit nervous. But she wants to help, and that overrides any nerves that are buzzing around]

My name is Colette Brunel. I just arrived the other day, and I saw... [she pauses, worried] I saw the attack that happened. I'm sorry to ask for help at a time like this, but I'm not sure how to get off of the ship that I'm currently on. If I can leave, I'd like to come and help on the ships that were hurt.

I think-- [it feels strange to say, and doesn't quite feel real] that I understand how to fix some of those ships. I'm not sure how, but I can see some of the damage from here.

So, I hope I can help! And if there's anything that I can do in the meantime before I leave this ship, please let me know.

[mm, she nibbles a bit on her lower lip as if she's not sure if she should say more, but she'll end it there. She feels bad asking for help before she's actually helped anyone, but she has looked all over this ship and hasn't been able to find a way to leave]

[asdlkgha! she winces at the sudden loud noise, but balls up her hands and holds them in front of her chest, leaning... in... towards the device? Because everyone knows that's how it works]

[ it stays on audio for a bit, but as more metal clangs about, Colette might be able to pick up a familiar voice amidst the clangs ("ow, ow, stupid--!").

finally, with a grunt from the source, it switches to video and Lloyd's face appears on the feed. there's a bandage on his head and a couple of small cuts and burns here and there, but he otherwise looks alright-- and very, very surprised. ]

[Hello, yes. The video sure is showing a wide shot of a smoking pile of ship, sitting crooked on a landing pad with... a lot of stuff broken off. Really, it looks like it's about to fall apart at any minute.]

That is my ship. If you've any idea where to start fixing it, I'd appreciate it.

[Usually, he'd be skeptical about asking someone her age but. Fuck it.]

[While Allen always knows it's a strong possibility people won't remember him- Colette and him had been friends for years. So...it's really hard not to have his whole face light up when he sees her video feed. It's been a long forty-eight hours and he has missed Colette.]

Colette!

Ah...I'm afraid you'll probably be stuck on the Marsiva until Saturday- another five days from now. That's what usually happens when people arrive.

[if there is any face that makes her feel instantly better about a given situation, it's Lloyd. Just seeing him feels like a big weight off her chest and she smiles wide with relief]

Lloyd! Are you with everyone else-- [oh noooo, he's in a different ship? that background doesn't look like the white ship that she's on]

Are you okay?

[oh no, she raises her hands over her mouth in worry, but then pulls them down to her chest and nods firmly!]

Mm! I'll be there as soon as I can!

O-One I figure out how to get there...

Oh! [she looks appropriate confused by someone knowing her name, but not bothered by it]

I-I see. Is there no way that people from those hurt ships could come over here?

[ holy crap. holy crap, this is for real. Colette is actually here, Atroma actually brought her here. Lloyd runs a hand through his hair, still trying to process this; he needs a quick moment to gather himself because this is the first time he's seen her in months and seeing her face after all that chaos is nothing short of relieving. ]

Y-yeah! Yeah, we're okay! One of our engines got hit pretty bad, but we're still flying. [ let's conveniently leave out the part where he was in the single most dangerous room while the attack was happening :') ]

Where are you? Are you on the Marsiva?

[He sighs.]

You can't. Not yet. You're only permitted to leave when they allow. Someone's informed you of this, haven't they?

Yes! I think so. A few of us woke up here, and someone said that we need to stay here for a little while? [she obviously doesn't seem to be a fan of the idea]

I might have missed it... I'm sorry. [whoops]

But once I'm allowed to leave, will I be able to travel between the ships?

[Reluctantly:] It's fine.

[It's not. He hates explaining this junk. Deep breath.] Once you leave, you'll have the freedom to move, yes. You'll be assigned to a crew and have access to a shuttle for transportation. You'll be able to help to your heart's content then.

[she doesn't know him well enough to know exactly what he's feeling, but she knows suppressed stress when she sees it. She nods...]

Okay, thank you. [she pauses.... She knows the sentiment of what she wants to say, but not how to say it] Will you be safe in the meantime?

[ don't worry gurl he ain't the strongest kid in school for nothin ]

Yeah, they'll put you on a new ship in a few days, but you're gonna be stuck there for a bit. [ it's kind of unfair since he wants to see Colette in person now, but eh, he went this long without her.

except he's already feeling giddy and excited at the prospect of seeing her. crap. ]

Man... I'm so glad to see you, though! It was getting kinda lonely with just two of us here.

Of course. [A bit overconfident there, bud. But! His tone softens.] I don't suppose you could answer my initial question from just the visuals? I'm... we're at a bit of a loss as to what to do. Where to start.

[Ah...he knows that confused look. He's seen it enough times before to know what it means. He swallows and bites back the enthusiasm by a lot. Whoops. He could have played that better]

Ah...no, I-I don't think so. At least- I've never heard of someone getting into the Marsiva once they leave it.

[aw, her shoulders droop a bit when Lloyd confirms what she heard. But she reminds herself this is probably a good thing. She wouldn't want to leave the little girl that she met all alone D:]

You were lonely? [huh, well that distracts her from what she was thinking about]

Isn't everyone here? We were all together before I arrived, did something happen?

Mm... [she leans closer to the display to really concentrate]

That thing on the front-- [she points... but then realizes that's not helpful] The big panel that's nearly fallen off.

It looks really heavy! If it's left on like that it might hurt the panels that it's attached to. Maybe a good place to start would be taking off outside panels that are barely attached.

[she can almost see the change in his demeanor, and it worries her a bit.]

Oh, alright. [mm.............. she wants to ask the thing but she doesn't want to be a butt]

And-- I'm sorry to change the subject, but did you know my name? [no Colette, he guessed it. Allen is a good guesser]

[ he shakes his head ] I wasn't alone!

[ even if they're not from the same dimension, Kaneis is still a familiar friend. regardless of atmosphere, he'll always cherish his company. ]

You're the second person here that I know from back home. [ technically third, but he absolutely refuses to count that illusion of his father. ] For a while, it was just me and Zel--

[ the feed is cut for a minute and there's nothing but radio silence. after a bit, the feed gets turned back on, but Lloyd seems to be in a different room: the lighting is dimmer. ]

Colette? Can you see this? [ he seems to be whispering. this must be a big deal! ]

Ah! [she jumps like a dork and looks around... like is something going to appear behind her? But when she looks back she's worried that like, somehow she broke it and that's why he disappeared. She somehow leans in ever closer to the screen to figure out where he went, and then jumps back a bit as he suddenly appears again.

But she's quick enough on the uptake, and yes of course she whispers back like a nerd]

Y-Yes! I can still see you. Did something happen?
