[So this is where she goes when she wants time to think, apparently. The bunker is a place she won't enter; between the heavy aftermath of a mass death and the understandably stricken reactions of its visitors, the atmosphere is far too toxic. But it doesn't mean she isn't grieving. The deaths could not be helped and are god knows how far in the past, but the fact that these people have been forgotten - not acknowledged even by this automated town, let alone the rest of space - is something that sits very poorly. She can't even change anything about the town to reflect its population's final days.

She's walking the rollercoaster tracks, very high up, thinking over the issue. Don't ask how she got up that high. And don't worry if you should be using the rollercoaster at the time; she can avoid you. Might give you a bit of a scare, though, sorry.

Eventually, she puts a call through to Sam.]

[Outside of town]

[As far as she can go before she suspects (or hopes) she's outside the range of the city's replication science so her work isn't scrubbed. She's not too far from the bunker; it would be pointless if she were too far away from it.

She finds a rock face smooth enough, and between a thick blade and Kirito's lightsaber she carves a memorial. Maybe nobody will ever see it, but if any other visitors come to this place, they should know what happened. It's worth the extra headache.]

I've decided to quit making dreamcatchers and move on to voodoo dolls instead. It's more fun. So if you'd like to take one before I end up throwing them all out, feel free.

[Just so you know. Totally honest, as usual. Less cheerful than normal.

If anyone wants her she'll be curled up in her office with Licorice on her lap. She's so tired of these planets.]

Hang them up. Eat the dreams that get trapped in them.

[a shrug as if that's perfectly normal] The Spider Woman would hate to see them tossed away.

Isn't it unhealthy, eating a bunch of nightmares?

[It's a dry question, but now she's very curious. Who are you, mystery lady.]

[she hums a little]

For others, probably. But I find them pretty good. I don't know what the nutrition value on them is, though.

Plenty of fibre, I'd imagine.

I don't have many left, but if you'd like to drop by we can work something out.

[A dream eater is both kind of her field and a possible cause for concern, but she'll be able to work out more in person.]

Mmm. They're sweeter than one would think.

I do, though I've never been. Is now an all right time to visit?

[she's already on her way over, but it's polite to ask]

As good a time as any. Look for the doctor's office.

[it only takes a matter of minutes to get there, and as directed, she heads for the doctor's office. And ever polite, she doesn't peek in if the door's open, and doesn't just invite herself in - she knocks, steps back, and waits]

[There's a muffled 'come in!' from within, because despite Katie's curiosity she's not particularly wary. For one, her own crew knock all the time. For another, a nightmare-eating (fae? spirit?) is obviously not chewing through the Fleet at a rate of knots because she'd have noticed.

She'll be sitting on the edge of her desk and rummaging through a box when Baku enters.]

[she enters quietly and shuts the door behind her, with a murmured "I'm coming in". When she turns, she greets Katie with a nod; despite how small and young she appears, she's not hiding anything about her]

Hello again. Are voodoo dolls really more fun?

[Oh. Younger than she really thought over the comms, but then Katie's an expert in apparent age not meaning a damn thing. She smiles after a moment, though, can't help herself; whatever this girl is, it's a little like sunlight invaded her office. There's not really much of a trace of banality here.

Which probably means she's not human, but Katie already guessed that.]

They can be. I mean, if you use them traditionally it's all very conventional and dull, so I suppose it depends on how creative you are. More fun to give someone an itch on their back they can't quite reach.

[Despite her words, there's zero voodoo dolls in evidence in here. There are dolls, of the easily woven wool variety, all lined up on a shelf. And dreamcatchers adorning the walls, just a handful; they're temporary and not meant to stay. If Baku can sense dream-related magic, well, it's pretty rife in here.]

[she definitely gives off an air of being much older than she is, what with how she folds her hands in front of her and stands up straight. She doesn't miss the smile, though, and it makes her tilt her head, curious]

That does sound more fun than tradition. [she can absolutely sense the magic, and she can't help but be drawn to one of them on the wall, reaching up almost to touch it - but stopping herself. It's impolite to touch someone else's work without permission] These are wonderful - the Spider Woman would be proud of your work.

Do you think so? [She's proud, but her eyes are still measuring.]

I met a Spider Woman a long time ago. I wonder if they're related.

What's required in eating nightmares?

[she turns to look over her should, interest peaked] I do. You've met a version of her?

[she turns properly after giving the dreamcatcher one last, appreciative look]

Being a baku, mostly. I'm the only one of my kind - in species and as something that devours nightmares. So I guess . . . that and having an appetite?

You're very up front. How refreshing.

[...she's met Vriska. Who has spider history. That's close, right? She leaves that unanswered for now.]

Baku... Japanese spirit? Or fairy? [Only going by looks here. She hasn't heard of Baku before, but she's a lot more unfamiliar with the eastern fae than the western kind.]

There isn't any point in lying. Or so I'm told is the case here.

[she nods] I'm a spirit, yes. Fairies are . . . mm, they live more in the west, though we have a few who live in the mountains. [she tilts her head] May I ask what you are?

[She grins, tucking her feet up on the chair with her.]

Well, I'm not a spirit. Have you heard of pooka?

The name sounds familiar? [she taps her chin thoughtfully] But I don't want to be rude and assume. What is a pooka, if I may ask?

[Oh, dear.]

They're shapeshifters who believe in the importance of being extremely honest. Not tricksters like the sidhe.

Oh, then I'm mistaken. Ireland has something called pookas or similar - but I'm admittedly not that familiar with western creatures. That's a nice trait to have, though - being honest.

[Oh, dear.]

Isn't it? It's the easiest thing in the world, for a sidhe like me.

[Maybe she can call Sam up and get him to give an explanation.]

[she pauses, head tilting curiously.
