Broadcast to the SS Caprine
I have appreciated having you as compatriots since I first arrived. Current circumstances have required me to move to another ship however. There was no option not to transfer.

In light of the fact that my move has left the Caprine without lab support, I am offering to assist the Caprine in this regard until the ship gains medical support of their own. If you need me for any reason, you can contact me or I'll be on the Blameless now.

[New ship, only slightly different. The basic design wasn't too different from the SS Caprine. However, there were things about it that were different. It had been customized by a different crew than the Caprine had had.

So this called for investigation! After going to the lab at the back of ship and looking it over to make sure everything was in order, he headed out into the corridor to explore the ship. Especially if he was going to be the First Mate of the Blameless, he needed to know where everything was.

He's just wandering the public areas of the ship. Maybe he'll run into one of the crew at some point]

You are meant to be a superior officer to myself aboard this ship, Officer. It is really only appropriate and polite that I should address you as such since we don't know each other well.

[Pouring a second cup of tea, he gets some lemon and milk and honey onto a little tray as well before setting these on the table. This way the other can prepare his tea how he likes as they both enjoy a cup.]

I can't disagree with that. If that is that is what you want to call me.

[Ulaz wasn't going to require it, but if he felt he had to, there was no point in objecting. That was his rank after all as Shiro had requested.

Ulaz followed him over to table, sitting down. This new version of a hot beverage was starting to grow on him. As as experimenting with ways to take it. He found he liked it with this yellow fruit called a lemon...]

[Oh thank everything. Someone who doesn't mind him being polite until they can become friends. It's such a relief and the smile he wears now says as much.

Taking a sip of his tea, he chuckles softly.]

Yes, I suppose one who knows the captain better would be a better babysitter for him.

[Look. He pays attention and reads between lines really well.]

[Ulaz prepares his tea, putting a some lemon and honey in it. Just to touch of the honey though.

He glanced up at Sandalio's comment]

His health is a concern of the other paladins. But he has also become my friend here.

[The partial reason that he was there, to block Haggar from moving to the ship or make it more difficult for her to be undetected, would not be mentioned unless there was a reason]

I recall you mentioning the latter. Of course the former isn't too much a surprise given the habits I've witnessed since being on this ship. He does appear to be quite eager to work himself to illness.

[He sighs heavily. What a stubborn, stubborn man.]

I will not ask for details for I feel that it is his place to share with me when he is comfortable. However, I will ask this. Has he been through great trials in his time to leave him in such a state?

He is a hardworker. He wants to protect people, to have all of the answers. Unfortunately such people may not be able to turn that off when there is too much around them to do. It usually ends up being at their expense when that happens.

[At the comment about "great trials", Ulaz paused mid-raising his cup of tea. Great trials? Oh definitely yes. Ulaz was part of the reason for them. He was also the reason Shiro got away from them. But he couldn't say any of this. It wasn't his place for details and he hadn't even told Shiro everything]

He has been through a lot in his time, before coming to lead his team.

[He nods. He doesn't plan to ask anything further. Clearly Ulaz knows things but Sandalio is aware that he's not nearly close enough to his captain to go prying into matters of his past like that. Instead he simply settles for that nod.]

Though I am not one of his team and I am not familiar with his history as you are, please let me know if there is ever anything I can do to assist.

If there is something you can do, I will let you know. Hopefully we will be able to take care of it now that we know there was a problem.

[Hence why he is on the Blameless. Well, Haggar was the main reason he was on the Blameless, but that fell into the category of ensuring Shiro's health and well-being. He was sure Haggar would really be able to take away any advancement he'd made in a matter of seconds]

Having you here will help. Especially since you'll be able to tell the rest of us if there is a problem that needs to be attended to.

Of course. If there is something you need to know, the ship will be informed.

[At the moment, Haggar being in the fleet was not an issue. If she started causing problems or actively started to harass Shiro or trying to come aboard the Blameless, then they would need to be informed of her.

That is what I suspected, of course.

[Though he does wonder if perhaps there is...more. But that Ulaz simply doesn't seem to feel it is necessary for them to know yet. Truthfully it makes his curious nature want to pry and find out more. To gather information.

Apparently even though it's been twenty years since he was a spy some habits just die hard.]

As of the moment, it is not required.

[Then oddly they had something in common that neither of them was sharing. It was not in a spy's nature to admit their true purpose so easily. It came with the territory of making sure they stayed hidden]

Are there others from your world here in the fleet?

If there are then they simply haven't made themselves known to me. If they were from my pack then I would know right away though.

[The whole Alpha thing would kick in in that case.]

[He'd never heard of a group of humans referred to like that before. Maybe they were. He'd never seen a human until Shiro so who knew]

Ah yes. Since you are new to the ship, you should be made aware. I am a werewolf. Though I appear human I am actually more of a shapeshifter with my other form being that of a wolf. During the time of the full moon I become feral as this form and will be locked in the cargo bay with the cameras to monitor me.

[That is definitely important for all crew members to know in his opinion.]

[Thank you for explaining because werewolf was not something he knew of. Now he knew though]

I see. Yes, it is important that I know this.

[Considering he's very strong and not particular scared of anything, he'd probably be putting himself in the way if Sandalio was out in that form]

I suppose keep basil, silver, and sunlight away from me. I also don't believe there is anything you should worry about concerning my wolf form. The only time it presents a danger is during the time of the full moon and I am locked away during that time.

I will remember that. There is something about those three items that have an effect with your situation?

The first two will make me ill but are good deterrents during the full moon as a result. The third will actually cause me harm given how young I am despite my power as an Alpha.

I will remember that in case it is needed at some point.

[No writing it down. If someone decided they didn't like Sandalio and found that note, they could make things difficult for him]

There are beings I know of that can change their appearance such as Alteans, but completely transformation to animal is not something I've heard about before.

It isn't really common where I am from either. Most are not able to survive the change from human to werewolf.

The transformation is that severe that it kills? May I ask how this condition comes to be since it doesn't sound like it is hereditary.

[Since if it was, it a natural source of population control and a rather harsh one at that]

I prefer not to go into details on the matter but I will say that the Alpha of the pack will have the ability to change humans. Naturally we do not simply go around biting every person we come across. That would be terribly monstrous. However, there are those who come to be part of the pack who are human. They are something like our caretakers and when the Alpha feels the time is right they can attempt to change them with the knowledge that the one being changed has a high chance of not surviving.

[Ulaz listened to the information that Sandalio provided. Interesting he noticed when he called going around "biting every person" as monstrous. So it still seemed there was some civility in how what could be a rather horrific act was handled.

Based on that information, it sounded like this transformation was more brought on by some sort of virus or something that caused a transformation. Not that he was going to say this, but it was something to consider]

Thank you for telling me. I understand I think as much as I need to understand so I don't need more information.

[Gory details are not something he takes too much concern with. He's been there and done that]

Of course. I am still getting used to people not being aware of important matters about my kind so I am trying to make sure that information is known to our crew.
