Ever run across anybody you knew before, who doesn't remember you now? I've heard that happens a lot to people who've been in places like this before.

Many times, I've been in this mess for a while, you get used to it. Unless it's someone I was especially close to, I try not to make it known to them I remember them. It just makes things awkward and complicated.

Nope. Never even for a visit. Getting close to ten straight years without stepping toe back home.
