Oh, definitely. And possibly traded as such considering how many of us have been in other places before. Maybe all the mysterious overlords are in touch.

Similar themes. Trapped, here for such-and-such amusement, or some other vague purpose.

Vague purposes sounds about right. I always assume it's an experiment.

What do you think about the 'reality tv show' thing? Any weight to it?

I dismissed it pretty immediately, but I can't really say it's impossible. [Dismissing it just makes it easier to live without worrying about being scrutinized by a large audience.] It could always be an experiment and exploitation. What do you think?

I'm in about the same boat. I sincerely doubt it, but I can't prove otherwise. Though I am curious about the motivation behind trying to sell the TV show story to us before giving up on it before very long.

You think they've given up on trying to convince us? [She wonders if she missed anything. She did fall asleep for two months about a year ago and seeing the whole place as a ruse doesn't exactly inspire her to follow their breadcrumbs so it's very possible.]

All I'm saying is that between the pretty abrupt breakdown in communications and all this business about terraforming, on top of the lack of 'brand name recognition...' Us being the twelfth cycle of whatever this is is pretty damning.

Mmm, in Marina I was in the third cycle. There were some hints early on about previous prison populations, but then nothing.

Well, there were actually people from that time. Just two and you rarely saw them which was unusual considering how small and confined the place was. And then after awhile we never heard from them again.

Yeah, seems like. I meant more that they're remnants of a time prior that were quickly disposed of before they could reveal any particularly useful information.

It does feel like things changed around their exit. There have been more threats. At least in the years I've been here. The first one was extremely peaceful. [At least by her standards.] And then we started running into slavers and cannibals and dying planets. Not sure what it was like before my time, but the first calibrations was they thing they brought up the most.

Calibrations does seem relatively unplanned, but you have to wonder why the footage was left on the network at all if they didn't want us to see something like that. They've scrubbed footage before.
