[when the video begins, it focuses on a fairly large creature, sat in the cargo bay of the Caprine. It's sat on its hind legs with one paw raised in front of its face, claws flexing almost curiously. It then sighs, a bemused look crossing its face]

This isn't good. [it murmurs; for those who are familiar with Baku, her voice comes out of the giant creature, along with a deeper, more growly tone.

It's then that it notices the device, and with a low growl - that could be similar to any number of different animals - a big paw comes down on top of it, ending the video]

[later, she puts up another broadcast, only this time it's strictly voice only. She does not sound very happy]

Can a glitch keep someone from returning to their human form? Asking for a friend.

[at least her sense of humor is intact]

I guess, while I'm here - if anyone has any nightmares they'd like to get rid of, I'd be happy to eat them. It might be a power thing keeping me like this, I don't know.

[ Should he... do something about this? If there's a giant animal here it should probably be restrained, but he's not really eager to take the lead on doing that when this isn't his fault to begin with. ]

[it was a shot in the dark, but she didn't expect anyone to be interested in her offer - at least, not until she made a proper post about it]

[the animal in question turns at the noise, ears twitching. Ah, caught. She should have moved to her room while she had the chance]

Oh. [she never shows herself to anyone, not like this. This is incredibly strange] Um . . . hi. I didn't mean to - er, get stuck like this.

[After years with the Fleet, Shinji knows better than to question any of the weird crap he comes across on the network. So, yeah, it's just whatever: he's willing to believe this creature can do exactly what she says she can do.

Are there any, uh... side... side effects... to that kind of thing? Eating nightmares?

You certainly don't sound like one.

[But, given what Rose has seen, it's not outside the realm of possibilities, either. She can sense the other girl is telling the truth.]

Supposing that I do believe you, what happens to those whose dreams you eat? Are there any adverse effects?

If I eat someone's nightmare, they won't remember their other dreams from that night, whether they're good or bad. And they'll get a good night's sleep - that's less me and more an effect of completely removing a nightmare, though.

The only adverse anything is that I see the nightmare when I'm eating it. [she puffs out a noise] Which, understandably, people have reservations about. But I don't speak about what I see.

Other than that, there's nothing bad. For the person, they don't remember any of their other dreams that night, and they do get a good night's sleep. And for me, I get a meal.

The gods I've dealt with in the past have sounded much more regal.

[She hesitates on choosing the last word. 'Regal' is a close approximation, but Rose isn't entirely sure if it's accurate.]

Will I have your word? That you won't speak about what you see?

Oh. I'm not a god, but - the ones I work for sound like that. Regal and stuck up and overly formal. I'm only formal when it calls for it.

[she's not technically a god either, but getting into technicalities could drag on forever]

Mm, you have my word. I don't speak about it to anyone, not even you.

[ Well, that... wasn't what he expected. ]

[ So this is-- one of his crewmates? Stuck, like... He has a moment of wildly imagining someone half-eaten by a giant creature. but obviously that's not what she means. ]

I appreciate the offer, but I don't think you can help me. [her eyes twitch] Unless you have magic that'll help me change back into my human form.

There's no such thing.

[ He says that automatically-- but honestly, sounds a little doubtful. It's harder to be skeptical when there's a giant beast talking to you. ]

Oh, I can assure you that my human form exists. [she knows what he meant, but she decides to go in a different direction] Have you seen the little Japanese girl running around here? The captain?

[ He can't help it, his mouth twitches into a half smile at that, it feels like a joke. He still doesn't believe in magic. Whatever's going on here, it's--

No, he's not even going to try to come up with an explanation. ]

Well, Captain. [ It sounds kind of teasing but... only incidentally, because all of this is insane. Mostly he's just not keen on being formal about authority. ] I gotta admit, I thought someone forgot to mention picking up a big souvenir down there.

[it's probably for the best, even those who understand magic can't explain it all]

I would be very worried if that were the case. [she's huge, she doesn't know how anyone would miss her]

Not saying yes or no. Also asking for a friend. [Haha.] But, how do you eat a nightmare? [Color him curious.]

[First things first:]

The glitches can alter us physically, so it's entirely possible they'd be able to keep someone from returning to a form they usually keep. If this is happening to your 'friend' I'm sure it will pass. That said, I'm a healer, I could take a look, if you'd like.

But curiosity begs I ask, is that a magic you can do? Turn dreams into energy for yourself?

[Oh dear. Still, that was definitely a mythical creature she saw on screen and she's fascinated. But she'll keep that to herself.]

I see. [she loves when people join in on the joke] Then, please tell your friend that I put it in my mouth, chew, and swallow. Much like how anyone else would eat.

For beings like me, nightmares are tangible things. I've been told that to others, it looks like I'm eating a ball of television static. Which I suppose makes sense, as people's dreams appear as televisions to me.

[she explains, as if it's entirely normal]

Ahh, that's troublesome. Thank you for answering - if it lasts longer than a day, I may take you up on your offer. I'm—. . . my friend is a bit big and takes up a lot of space.

As for your curiosity . . . no, it isn't magic. I go into the realm of dreams, find the nightmare, and physically eat it. It turns into energy for me like food does for anyone else.

No . . . I don't think so. Unless you know how to change me back. [it's lighthearted, despite how inwardly she's freaking out a little] This sometimes happens when I don't have enough energy left, but . . . I've been eating regularly. So it's strange.

Mmm. One of those glitches turned me into a cat for an entire week, once. I wouldn't put it past them to do much the same to you.
