I'll keep this brief. My name is Clark - I'm from Kansas.

[ He's been the new guy at work often enough to sound chill about this, but he is feeling a little shaky having woken up here in the middle of his workday. To top it off, not being able to hear his mother's heartbeat is jarring.

There's some stress baking in Clark's future. ]

What do you make of this place? I'm curious to know how it compares to where you come from.

I think all of us have better things to do. [ He sighs heavily. ]

[ It's a little strong, but it doesn't shock him. People don't usually say that without having a good reason. ]

There's always someone like that. Who think they're bettering the world, but don't give a shit about who they step on to get what they want.

[ Softly: ]

He never thought he'd ever be able to kill somebody until Zod.

Peace is more important than killing, but he hurts because they might be the same for this young man. ]

Let's hope the Atroma don't bring him here.

If he does, he doesn't have hold. Doesn't have his men.

He'd get torn apart before he could say something smart. There are people a lot stronger than he is in the Fleet.

[ Personally, he'd love to see Negan go up against someone like Kara or Natasha. They'd eat him alive. Not that death mattered in this place for long.. ]

[ All that anger.

Clark just hurts for him. ]

Yes, there are. [ Himself included. ]

You sound like you know a thing or two about it.

[ His tone is more curious than condescending. Everything is possible in the fleet. There are even gods. Who is to say that another one hasn't shown up? ]

[ He pauses. ]

[ He doesn't like to presume he's above all. Clark, until recently, had never met anyone who's as strong as him.

But I think that's a conversation best had over a cup of coffee, don't you?

If you want to keep it semi-private, yeah. With this, anyone can listen.

[ It's an interesting idea, of course. Sitting down for a chat with someone of unknown strength. There are plenty of ways to get to know somebody, and this way seems unfamiliar to him. It's a little nostalgic, isn't it? ]

[ He'd like Carl to feel safe meeting him. ]

Sure, I'd like that. Either is fine, but most people tend to think the Red Fish is kind of creepy. So maybe the Iskaulit. There's a pretty good diner.
