Who: Clark Kent and you.
Broadcast: Fleetwide.
Action: Aboard the Marsiva.
When: The week of his arrival.
I don't suppose I could click my heels three times. . . [ Only Clark gets his little joke. ]
I'll keep this brief. My name is Clark - I'm from Kansas.
[ He's been the new guy at work often enough to sound chill about this, but he is feeling a little shaky having woken up here in the middle of his workday. To top it off, not being able to hear his mother's heartbeat is jarring.
There's some stress baking in Clark's future. ]
What do you make of this place? I'm curious to know how it compares to where you come from.

Well, since you'll probably need to figure something out- what'd you do back home, Clark?
[...yep, every bit as awkward as he thought that would sound.]
We hit up a new system every few weeks, and there's plenty to do there, but the time in between can definitely get boring. It helps if you've got a hobby, or anything that'd let you pick up a job in the fleet. You know, to pass the time, or just earn a few extra credits.

Oh, I'm a journalist. It's a good idea to keep busy, but I really doubt anyone here needs a newspaper to read.
I suppose I could always write a thrilling novel instead, what do you think?

I mean, sure, I doubt there'd be a big market for newspapers, but it might not be a bad idea to keep writing articles. You know, keep a record of anything important that happens. It'd be something useful for any future arrivals to read up on- I could even help out!
[Peter no]
...well, if you wanted any photos attached, anyway. You're not the only one who's worked for a paper, Mister Kent.
[It really didn't take him long at all to slip back into formalities. Getting him to drop those was probably going to be a battle in its own right.]

[ A record would be far more useful than someone trying to continuously get information from word of mouth. ]
You're a photographer? That's great - have you been doing it here too?
oh god I thought I already replied to this I'M SORRY
Plus I mean, any bit of normality helps around here.
no problem!

I mean, I guess there's the part where we're supposedly on some sort of intergalactic reality show, but not everyone seems to buy that. Also nobody's ever really met whoever's responsible for bringing us here, nobody really knows how to leave, and the general consensus is that the protein goo they feed us is less than appetizing. All that stuff's pretty common knowledge, though.
[And he'll just give the camera a defeated shrug of his shoulders to wrap things up.]
Probably stuff you've already heard yourself, but that's all I've got.
