I'll keep this brief. My name is Clark - I'm from Kansas.

[ He's been the new guy at work often enough to sound chill about this, but he is feeling a little shaky having woken up here in the middle of his workday. To top it off, not being able to hear his mother's heartbeat is jarring.

Yeah, it does. It's a small town, people don't really stop there unless they're visiting someone. [ It's home, though. ] I'd be happy to go down during Mardi Gras.

Do the memory gaps have something to do with the implant?

Considerin' how little we know 'bout them, could very well be. We don't seem to have a lot of 'nformation on them, despite what people have tried to either learn what they are, or remove them.

Which I don't 'ncourage, by the way. From the stories 've heard, they don't end well. [Hmm, that may be a little too foreboding.] Nothin' lethal, but they do certainly create a feelin' of dread when ya try to mess with them.
