[ Loki is sitting on a chair, decked in . . . a large fancy red robe. The background music is currently playing this song, something he heard on the planet and immediately stole for his own needs. He's sitting on the chair, legs slightly up in the air like he don't care because guess what — ]

It seems my request was approved and I am now the captain of the First Breath. Rest assured, I will treat my crew benevolently. Possibly with beer and movies.

[ Loki has never liked competitions.

Which seems like a paradox because Loki certainly likes to win. But he never had the acumen for Asgard's sports. He could barely lift their swords and axes, after all, constantly stumbling and falling into the dirt. A weakling. It was his mother, a shield-maiden of old who gifted him with his daggers, showed him the form he needed. And like the crack of a white, Loki's knife-throw was impeccable. He could cut down men twice his size meters away. So he found himself here, one of the Bright Birds (for now), flicking daggers at the bulls eye with ease, letting the applause wash over him.

It felt . . . good. That doesn't happen very often for Loki. Briefly, he wonders if this is how Thor feels all the time. He waves back briefly. ]

[ ii. poker ]

[ Money is not something Loki gives a lot of thought to. He has noticed the decent influx of money that comes to him via the Atroma and he is a little pleased. A twisted sense of appreciation in a way (something Loki has never been fully able to rebuke, even if he recognizes where it stems from). Either way, he's not going to complain about it as he moves the cash forward before leaning back with a lazy smirk. His opponent looks most disgruntled, folding his cards and leaving Loki with the winnings. As they leave Loki's table, some of Loki's cards vanish in a flicker of gold light. As the next person approaches, Loki smiles, sitting up straight. ]

[ iii. thor merchandise ]

[ Eventually, the lure of competing (and winning easily, even if he is cheating half the time) gets old, so he takes up the lucrative job of marketing. Everyone who comes up to the stall gets a Thor button to pin on their shirts. Unfortunately, after a while, the button changes to "THOR SUCKS" because that's just how life is. However, when you come back for your refund, Loki is gone.

But for now, you can come up and get some authentic Thor merchandise! ]

Only if you're telling me that "Thor" and "mighty" are synonymous. Otherwise, it's just a little... [...and then she laughs at herself and shakes her head.] Actually, no, wait, nevermind. You're right. I could never picture saying something like that about someone else in all seriousness. It's a bit much.

Really? [She's astonished more than skeptical.] You mean people are actually buying these things?

[Geeze, Thor's a nice guy and he's really strong, but this is ridiculous.]

Why would they is more the question. Putting someone else's face on your body is just weird.

[ Even if Thor had a very nice face, objectively speaking. ]

But people do seem to be into that here. [ She doesn't really get it. ] So... good luck on your sales?

[ Not that he cares. For Loki, acquiring funds is easy. ]

[ She is somehow not at all sure she made her intent clear, so before she moves away, Katara adds: ] I thought it was a good joke, Loki. I'd have asked for some for Sokka, except I think he'd like it.

[ Loki smirks, oil-slick. ]

You should get him one anyway. It's worth the price.

[ She blinks and laughs. ] No - I meant, ones with Sokka's face. I don't think I want to have to explain to Thor why either of us is wearing his face. He's a shipmate, and that'd be... weird.

[ Listen. One does not just go Lauding Crewmates all willy-nilly. The ships are small enough without having to compete with egoes and head sizes. ]

[ Loki merely taps a badge. Sokka's face shows up while Thor's mysteriously vanishes. ]

Ha! [Brilliant grin at him.] That's amazing!

[ Loki shrugs. ]

It is a little magic, nothing more.

[ And it'll still say Sokka Sucks in a few hours. Because Loki is terrible. ]

It's still pretty amazing to me. [ She glances back up from the pin to Loki. ] But like I said, I think he'd like them. So it wouldn't be as much fun for me to tease him with one.

[In fact... now that she sees it... she's sure he'd like them. D8] I already had to throw out two armfuls of Waves regalia that he's trying to decorate the ship with - I don't want to give him any other ideas.

As a sibling, I can guarantee, this one will be . . . fun to keep.

[Her eyebrows raise in question and she glances from Loki back to her brother's smiling face.

Well. Now she has to know.

And she could ask, sure. But that'd be a lot less fun than --] Alright. How much?

[ Chaos is not worth putting a price too. Besides, this isn't one of Thor's mindless fans. ]

[ ...listen. Her upbringing is not one which leads her to turn away an offer of 'free' when she didn't want to pay very much for something anyway. It's a little weird to not have to bargain to get it down so low, but she'll take it. She holds out her hand to do so. ]

[ Loki casually drops it into her palm without much fanfare. ]

I hope it proves entertaining.

[Katara moves to stick the pin in her bag.]

Me too. [A quick smile.] Thanks again, Loki.

[ Loki shrugs in reply. He's uncomfortable with the idea of "thanks". ]
