[Yeahhh he's being annoyingly mysterious. Though when Thor just hands over his comm Cas gives him a grateful look, then chucks both comms into a nearby bush and starts walking in the opposite direction they were driving.] I apologize for all the steps. I'm not as capable of securing privacy as I used to be.
[shut your sass up] That was intentional. Do you want the details of why I want to assault the Marvisa, or would you rather just negotiate your role within the plan?
[Cas looks carefully around them, at the crowds milling about, eyeballing lingerers until he's sure they're not listening in.] The reason I'm advertising is to breach the Marvisa to retrieve my friend, Sam Winchester, who is almost certainly trapped on board. Though that is one of my goals, it isn't the only one.
I'm certain. [Well, as certain as the rules apply here, unless they've suddenly decided to stop scrubbing the rosters. Cas has been checking for Sam's name twelve times a day just to make sure it's still there.]
I took a vessel around the exterior of the Marvisa the other day. There are no places to dock, which leads me to believe the only way in is through force. Yours and Loki's assistance with this is vital.
[is that what 'vital' means to u guys] Moderate. I'm not a god. I'm an angel, a seraph to be specific, with mangled Grace besides. I absolutely could not attempt this alone.
[It certainly does to Thor. Don't bring up force if you don't want him to wield it. Still, he nods his understanding.]
I can concentrate my own power on a single point. That would serve best if we aim to puncture the hull.
[He's never attempted to use lightning in space itself. He won't be able to summon any from the clouds, yet his own innate energy should serve enough for this. Briefly, he regrets that Mjolnir is gone, as it would prove useful in this. That's an old grievance though, one that fades each day.]
If it is made of the same stuff as our augments, though, there's a chance it will do nothing.
There's also a chance that Atroma will wield those augments and render us mortal in space, leaving us to die. [An extremely distinct possibility.] But this operation isn't solely about rescuing my friend. I'm hoping this will reveal something we may not otherwise be able to discover without taking the risk.
[Thor is yet to see the augments do anything that extreme. Still, it's possible, which is a concern. He's been mortal before, just not in space.]
They could also just spirit us back into the ships. We have no way of knowing what their response will be. Certainly they don't answer to direct challenges over the communicators.
We should at very least be able to learn if the Marsiva has defensive shields.
I'm also testing their surveillance. As you said, that they monitor the network is a given. [He gestures back toward where he'd dumped their comms. Thus.] But we don't know the extent of their surveillance on the ships, or through these. [Reaches a hand back behind his ear to touch the augment.]
I do not like how little we know of the Atroma's workings. I have been told over and over what not to do. I'm tired of doing nothing - it will get us nowhere. This might, and so it is worth doing.
[Castiel nods along with Thor, slowly. He's honestly of the same mind; even if other people look at it as foolish or useless, he hates sitting around because someone else called something dangerous or a waste of time. At least this way he's doing something.]
Yeah. I agree. [So in that case,] I'd like to do one last test. I want to make a specific section of the plan involving someone, and then speak about it upon the ships. It might mean more danger for the person involved. Would you be willing?
I am. The Atroma are already well aware of my grievances against them. [Thanks to the fact that Thor routinely opens his communicator to a random channel and gives them an earful.] If they do retaliate, they will find the God of Thunder is more than a match for it.
[Lmao you are such....a meathead, but in a very refreshing way. Kinda reminds Cas of how Anna used to be before she fell; the corner of his mouth twitches up, just slightly.]
Then I'll discuss aboard the ships a plan for you to concentrate your power on a specific area of the ship, where captives had been permitted to dock before. It won't be necessary to actually do that when the time comes, but I'd like to examine the area for any changes from before.

[That is probably not what Castiel means, but never let it be said that Thor won't bluntly drop facts on people whenever he feels like it.]
People rarely want to do anything of importance on those things.

Is there more to your reasoning than just the Atroma deserving one?
[Because Thor won't judge him if that's the case.]

I've spoken to Winchester before. I wasn't aware he had gone missing. You're certain he's not been sent home?
[It's reason enough though. Thor would do the same if one of his friends were missing and there was a clear place they should be.]
I have long been unsatisfied with the idea that the Marsiva can't be broken into. All ships have entry points.

[Thor knows perfectly well what he himself can do. Castiel speaks as though he and Loki are accessories to the main event, though.]

[While the specifics of it might elude him, having a device tapped into your head is far from comforting. He rubs at the back of his own head idly.]
Whether they can hear and see what we can is the real question.

A question that may not even be answered. This entire endeavor may be utterly pointless.
Knowing this, do you still wish to join me?

[Thor claps his hands together.]
Now take us back to where you threw away our communicators.
[Don't think he's going to just brush that aside. That's on you, buddy.]
