[After engaging in some extremely extra behaviour with a bunch of other extremely extra immortals, Thor came down with a brutal fever on the First Breath and has been holed up in Loki's room ever since. Still, there remain some things he needs to do.

No longer.

[ Loki rises unsteadily, pushing his hair back. ]

I should . . . [ His brow furrows, struggling to recall what else needs to be done. He hasn't had enough rest. ]

[rebuildyourruins]

[Frowning, Thor sits up himself.]

Sit down.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki blinks, turning towards Thor with a frown. ]

I can handle this.

[rebuildyourruins]

[There's a long pause while Thor just stares at him, before he shrugs.]

All right. What will you do?

[Loki hadn't finished his sentence earlier. Calling his bluff will require him to come up with an answer.]

[dothelokimotion]

I will . . . [ Damnit. Loki struggles, swaying slightly. ] . . . Meals. And water. I should get that.

[rebuildyourruins]

[Thor's gaze slides sideways, checking something as he shifts to the edge of the bed.]

There's water on the desk.

[dothelokimotion]

[ A pause. ]

Oh.

[rebuildyourruins]

Are you that hungry?

[A little unfair to ask, since he's sure the answer is no. If Loki's feeling at all similar to Thor... which is likely, given the fevered look in his eyes.]

[dothelokimotion]

. . . No.

[ Loki picks at the edges of his sleeves. ]

[rebuildyourruins]

Then there's no reason for you to go anywhere right now.

[Thor's still watching Loki, just in case he sways a bit too hard. Otherwise, he's made no move to corral him back to bed.]

[dothelokimotion]

[ Frustrated but defeated, Loki slowly moves back onto the bed, curling his arms around himself. ]

I wanted to do it right.

[rebuildyourruins]

[That's better. Thor doesn't bother disguising his relief, letting out a sigh. He pats Loki's shoulder.]

You are. But you aren't well either, Loki.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki huffs at that. ]

Neither of us make good patients.

[rebuildyourruins]

That's because we should never be ill like this.

[He knows exactly where it's come from, and why it's hitting him worse. It's pure cause and effect. Thor lies back down, rubbing irritably at his eye socket.]

It's a pain.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki chuckles. ]

Remember when Mother would bribe you into staying in bed?

[He grins a bit, crooked.]

Yes. With honeyed bread. It did work for a time.

[Never for long, but enough for him to fall asleep and give her a few hours respite.]

You would stuff your face with it.

[rebuildyourruins]

I was sick, I was allowed.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki weakly elbows him. ]

That's not how it works.

[rebuildyourruins]

[Thor swats Loki's arm away.]

I always got better afterwards so I would say it did. Besides, she brought you sweets too.

[dothelokimotion]

[ Loki sniffs. ]

Because she liked me.

[rebuildyourruins]

And the pathetic looks you kept giving her.

[Piggy-backing off Thor's sickness. Terrible.]

[ Loki smiles weakly. ]
