[After engaging in some extremely extra behaviour with a bunch of other extremely extra immortals, Thor came down with a brutal fever on the First Breath and has been holed up in Loki's room ever since. Still, there remain some things he needs to do.

Don't you dare damage my ship.

[Thor opens his mouth to snap back that you'd hardly be able to tell the difference, when he hears footsteps returning along the corridor. Instead he mutters:]

Shut up. [And just waits for Katara to re-enter the room, rubbing absently at his eye socket. He should clean it, but finding the energy to go stand in the bathroom to do that is easier said than done.]

[ ...clearly, they're going to require closer supervision while she's there.

She reenters with Thor's warmed up soup, gives them a glance that is both not fooled by their innocence and also doesn't really want to get into it. So... professionalish smile is go. ] I've got your soup. Do you need help sitting up?

[Thor glances Katara's way then shakes his head, pushing himself back up to sit. Judging by the flicker of discomfort on his face, it's not something he relishes. But he's capable enough.]

[ She frowns a little as she watches him. It's evident that sitting takes effort... and she's not going to force him to rely on her help. Sometimes it was better to be able to continue doing what you could, but...

Katara wonders again what kind of sickness could have made him this ill. She chides herself for not wearing a mask; Trafalgar would be disappointed. ]

You're welcome. [ She had found a serviceable tray in the kitchen this time and came over to lay it carefully over his thighs. ] I just wish I had better news for you. Besides making sure to keep resting and giving your body the the protein and hydration it needs, the best thing you can do is wait this out.

[It does smell good. He just wishes he felt at all keen to eat it. His gaze flickers back over to Katara, taking a moment to fully hear what she's saying. Once he gets it he shakes his head, irritation passing over his features again.]

That is what I assumed.

[ Her gaze narrows for a moment, observing that irritation and assessing in turn. ]

How old are you?

[He pauses in the middle of bringing the spoon to his mouth.]

Fifteen-hundred. Why?

[ She blinks. Yeah. Wow. He looked really good for his age. ]

Two reasons. One, I wanted to get an idea of why your chi pathways looked the way they did. And two... [ she gives him a small, wry expression ] I know that every day you're sick can seem like an eternity. But it'll be over soon, your body is fighting it.

[ And with 1,500 years behind him, he can manage to be in bed for a few more days, she thinks. So stop hurting the process and stay in bed. 8| ]

[He can't help but scowl a little at the logic. Normally he would be bullish about this kind of thing. There are few things he can't persevere through given strong enough incentive, and a fever isn't one of them. Between Loki's admonishments and the weakness sapping him though, Thor can't make much of an argument. He'd like to. He has. But it won't get him anywhere.

He pushes the spoon back into the bowl, only a bit moody.]

Yes, I know. It has improved in the last day. I'm not incapable of moving around a bit.

[And he really will go stir crazy otherwise.]

I will stay put.

Good. [ She smiles at him. ] You already stretched yourself today coming to meet me. If you're feeling better tomorrow, you can probably walk around the ship once, if you have someone to spot you. [ She reaches out to take his temperature again, resting her hand on his head. ] ...but you're still burning up, [ she removes her hand after bending some more surface coolness onto his skin ], and fevers make weakness come on all of a sudden, so you should be careful and keep saving your strength.

[Gloomily, Thor imagines that Loki will dog his steps if he does that. It's no real deterrence though.]

All right. I understand.
