Who: Armitage Hux and you
Broadcast: No
Action: Aboard the H.S. Marsiva or SS.Bishop
When: Upon arrival and after the shuffle.
A: Aboard the H.S.Marsiva
While dealing with droids was nothing new, he did find it strange the the main ship had no humanoid staff onboard. Everything seemed reliant on droids and computers. Hux did note that it was very sterile. It was clear that this was only meant to be a temporary station. He knew that many wouldn't take kindly to lack of personal to greet them and answer their many questions. It didn't bother him.
Not wanting to really interact with the few guests that were there with him, he turned to stare out the windows. He stood in military stance as if he were standing in front of his own view port. He still wore his uniform and great coat, the only thing he had from home. The stars were so different here. None of the constellations he recognized were there. He idly wondered where they were. Were they just wandering aimlessly through the galaxy collecting people for entertainment? Or was there an goal? How did this even start?
He hated waiting to be assigned to his new post. He also hated the fact that he would no longer be a general or that this wasn't a military setting. He only hoped his new job would keep him occupied.
B: Aboard the S.S. Bishop
Upon arrival to his new station, Hux made it his job to understand the ship's layout. While he was no longer a general or was with the First Order, he proceeded to wear his uniform and great coat. It was the only thing he had from home and he worked hard to earn that uniform and title. He wasn't about to give it up.
He easily noted it was nothing like his old ship the Finalizer. However, it wasn't horrible. It was well outfitted with everything necessary. A very basic ship. Yet...it didn't have his tea. Hux would have to place a complaint about this and see if they could even acquire it. He had to substitute his daily in take of tea their version of caff. It made him, more irritable then normal. There were a few other minor complaints...but those he felt were minor and he could adjust to them. It was the growing pains of having to readjust to a lesser rank. He continued to prowl around the ship taking account of everything that he could see and had access to.
Hux then made his way to the engine room where he set to work. He wanted to find the files and records of what had been done and what needed to be done.
C: Wild Card
Your choice of where you would like to run into Hux. It can be on either ship or another location entirely.

C : Supply Run!
I have no idea what you are looking for. And I doubt any merchant here does either. You may need to get creative.
[And shop by smell or something, she wasn't sure how he'd be able to find something to his liking since she avoided the stuff. But odds were pretty good that with everything else being so alien- for lack of a better term- that name alone wouldn't cut it.
On the bright side, member of the Starstrikers or not, shopping with a four-armed giant warrior did at least mean crowds weren't as big a problem as they could have been for Hux. Provided he stayed close, at least. Because when the giant, warhammer-wielding alien moved, so did everyone else. Out of her way.]
You should have a small stipend of credits to your name. If you require more, I can accommodate you- within reason.
no subject
While, I appreciate the offer, I will stick to the credits given. I wish to not rely on someone else to support my needs. Even if I can't find my tarine tea, I hope to find something close to it.
[Warily, he kept near her and only stopped when he found a herbal and spice booth. He did appreciate that her presence gave him a crowd free shopping experience. He proceeded to investigate each set of teas that they vendor had to offer.
It had been forever since he had to actually shop for something. He was used to simply placing an order in and having it sent to him. Or send someone out to get the supplies.
He did want to give some simple clothing and a weapon. He didn't want to get his uniform worn out or have his coat ruined. He also hated not having a weapon on his person.]
no subject
I will not argue. But I will advise you get used to the idea. It is rarely possible to handle everything in this ridiculous fleet alone- at some point you will have to rely on others. With what may vary, but it is true for everyone here.
[For her part, most of it involved just dealing with...well, just about anything not related to battle, but still. She'd also relied heavily on Sayid handling any crew matters that needed even the slightest degree of tact, and that's probably going to be a problem going forward, but she'd stubbornly keep that to herself for the time being.
Instead, she'll busy herself looking over some of the herbs and spices for sale as Hux browses the teas. The Bishop actually had a proper cook now, so she was giving serious thought to stocking up just to see what he could do with it.]
no subject
Where I come from it's hard to trust others. One learned quick to not show any form of weakness that can be used against them.
[Much to his dismay he was not having much like finding his tea. He found a few possibles that could tie him over, but they weren't the same.]
no subject
[And to be honest, most of you are still infuriatingly alien to her, with a completely ridiculous objection to resolving all of life's problems through combat.]
Whatever you consider the normal state of affairs, it does not apply here. It is in your interest to adapt accordingly.
[She'll let him get back to his sampling though- she's given up trying to make heads or tails of any of the ingredients being offered, and is instead now making arrangements to have a few cases of everything delivered back to the Bishop. Let Sam figure it out.]
no subject
[Hux snapped back, finding her tone condensing. He made his purchases and turned to leave Looma's side. He was too frustrated to play nice and he wasn't at all happy with the situation. This was nothing like the way he had grown up in and he was at a complete loss of how to handle things.]
no subject
...you humans must do things differently, if you are only a warrior when you have an army at your disposal. But if it bothers you, change your augment- the ship has had two security officers before, and I doubt anything has been done to prevent it from happening again. Or start gathering better weapons.
[Actually, come to think of it...]
...though you may wish to do that anyway. The ones in the armory are only slightly better than having nothing at all.
B: Engine Room
Don't touch anything. I'm running a system check right now and I can't afford to have something fall out of place.
[Eyes hidden behind the reflection on the round glasses, Pidge didn't even look up from the screen of the large laptop that was set up before her. This was a work hour for Pidge, after all. Nothing was going to ruin that.]
no subject
[Hux spoke in a brisk tone as he approached her, following the sound of her voice. He didn't bother speaking in a loud voice, but he made sure it also wasn't his normal soft tone. He was used to having his voice heard by the entire bridge.]
I'm assuming you must be Pidge?
no subject
That's right. And you're new. Which makes me the senior engineer here. [Her eyes drop back to her monitor, flicking from side to side as she examined all of the readings.] Assuming you actually are an engineer.
no subject
I'm not here to prove what I can and can't do, especially to someone such as you.
[Hux responded in a cold tone. As he spoke he then reached over and shut made sure to shut the computer closed. He gave her a chance to play nicely, show chose to throw her weight around instead.]
This is where I am assigned to do my job. I'm only going to ask once more. Where do you wish for me to start?
no subject
[Which she punctuates by grabbing up the machine and pulling it closer to her, still glaring up at him.]
What're you even capable of? Because if all you have is whatever the implant put in your head, I don't think I have a use for you.
no subject
Every one of us has to have an implant placed inside us whether we wish it to or not. And that includes you. You can be the greatest engineer in your world, but that does not mean you can simply handle the technology here. That implant helps you understand what is provided to make you more capable of doing the job. Don't go patronizing me for the fact that the both of us have an implant.
I gave you a chance to earn respect as I had readily wanted to accept you and what you had to share. You chose to throw your weight around instead. Regardless whether you wish to work with me or not-- I am assigned to this ship and post.
no subject
Look, unless you happen to have been transferred over to this ship from elsewhere within the Fleet with the very same type of implant as this one and have actually been here for a year, then I still know more about this ship and this tech than you do. I've been managing this place just fine on my own, but if you really think you can help me out, then prove it. Until then you're just one more breather on this ship.
no subject
You have fun ruling this little hole of yours. I have other important things to worry about that don't require your aide. Have a good day.
[Hux then proceeded to give a mock bow toward Pidge and turned about to exit the room. He was done trying to argue with someone who refused to even budge when all he did was ask where to help. He would set up his work shop elsewhere.]
no subject
[And then under her breath as he leaves, she adds-] Figures he can't even prove his usefulness...
C - Wildcard - Iskaulit
Hey... settling in okay?
no subject
As best as I can, I suppose. The ship is nothing like what I'm used to, but at least it's a ship. The Captain is at least tolerable. I've had worse.
no subject
Lunch?
[He nodded a little.]
I've seen a bit of that. These ships are pretty small and weak compared to the Castle of Lions back home, but they're way more advanced that what I first learned on in the Garrison. What ship did you end up on?
no subject
[He followed Keith toward the Melting Pot, although he wasn't too familiar with the food. He was used to the bland food that was offered to the crew at home.]
I was stationed on the S.S. Bishop. I'm supposed to engineer there, but apparently people are judgemental on what type of implant you have and what skills that go with it. I'm looking to hook up own station where I can work in peace.
no subject
[Keith's comment was flat, like he was reserving judgement on something. Keith had mixed feelings about Looma right now. They'd started off on bad footing and, while things were a little smoother now, they weren't exactly friends.]
Good luck with that.
But, I know the engineer that was already there. Pidge? She's this tiny powerhouse of scientific genius. She's done stuff with alien tech back home that I didn't think was possible. She might be able to set you up with a station. She's managed to do way more with stuff here than I could... even if I had the right augment for it.
[Once inside, Keith settled at a table and started to look over the menu.]
no subject
I'm afraid your teammate has no desire to work with me. She made that clear the minute I entered the room.
Since she is your team mate, I will not pursue to push the matter further. I will put my own station together and work from there. There is work I can do that I don't need to work with her on.
[Hux stared at the menu unsure of what to get since the food was foreign to him.]
no subject
Pidge can be... Well, she can be a little difficult at first. But, she'll come around if you take the time to get to know her and let her get to know you.
[He shrugged.] She and I didn't exactly get along right off the bat, either. [In fact, they'd had a pretty heated moment between them when she decided to leave Team Voltron to find her family early on.]
She also knows how smart she is, and that can sometimes end up being rubbed in people's faces. [Keith shrugged.] She's being honest, but kind of blunt.
[Still, he didn't blame Hux for getting upset if Pidge had kicked him out of the Bishop's engine room.] Having your own place might not be a terrible idea to start with.
[As for food... Keith decided to go simple and ordered the mac and cheese.]
no subject
[It was good to know that she was difficult with her own team mates. While she may have doe a lot of admirable things at home, her behavior reflected poorly on Hux. Her behavior reminded him of his father and that was not something he liked to reflect on. Had this happened at home on his ship, she would have been severely punished for her behavior and transferred.]
She's young and has a lot to learn.
[Unable to make his mind he randomly picked at the shepherds pie. It was always a chore on finding something to eat, but he was learning.]
no subject
[If Hux had asked, Keith probably would have offered up some advice on food, but he hadn't thought to because it was easy to forget that Hux wasn't from Earth. So many people in the Fleet were from some version of it, and didn't look insanely alien, that food seemed to be fairly universal here. Plus, Keith was also used to just guessing at what something was with weird colors and textures and tastes that might be good but might be different from what he was used to. Having Earth-like food that wasn't strictly goo-based was pretty awesome for him.]
no subject
However he was grateful for the fact that Keith didn't try to blame him right away and even took to trying to sort it out.]
I have a few projects I would like to try out and see if I can do this. Those will have to wait till I get more familiar with the tech here. That shouldn't take too long. Are spare parts hard to find here or do you have to scavenge for them?
no subject
Mm... not really sure, to be honest. It's not something I usually look out for. Being a pilot means that's not something I really have the knowledge to do around here. It's weird. The augments really do make a difference in how you deal with this place and your position on the ship.
Like, for a while, I was the only pilot on mine. And no one else actually knew how to use the helm console. But, I walked in, and it was like I'd been using it for a while. I'm a good pilot, sure, but I know I've never seen anything like that console before. There should have been a learning curve.
no subject
A lot of my engineer work at home revolved around weaponry or improving the ships so I'm hoping to use those skills here. I doubt we have to worry about a war here, but I would have some form of defense. I noted that these ships really don't have that.
I feel as if the augments make it easier for me to understand what's going on because the tech here is different from home. I don't have to spend a lot of time trying to learn everything. There's no learning curve as you stated with your piloting. It's a little eerie in a sense.
no subject
Yeah, sure.
[He listened as Hux spoke about his experience and what skills he had.]
It varies by ship, actually. Looma tends to prefer to attack first and defend only if completely necessary, I think, so I'm not surprised the Bishop is loaded with weapons. But, yeah... fighting doesn't happen often, but it's happened. It's better to be prepared.
I think that's the point of the augments... to help us adapt faster and get right into being their pawns on this show.
[That last part came out somewhat bitter. Keith didn't like the situation.]
no subject
no subject
No one should have to bow to anyone.
[Just making that clear, here.]
no subject
I just want my own path. I'm tired of someone dictating what it should be.
no subject
[Though, Keith's sense of duty tended to force him to sacrifice his desired path for the good of the universe... someone could argue that he wasn't really free, either.]
no subject
[Hux was grateful that the food finally arrived, so he could have something else to concentrate on. He found that the conversation was taking an awkward tone. Again a reminder that he didn't do well with small talk.]
no subject
I guess... if I didn't have anything else holding me back, I'd try to find my family.
no subject
[Hux quietly asked as he frowned at the prospect of not one to return. He had been brought up that the military was his family.]
no subject
[Keith sighed.]
I didn't have anyone back on Earth. My dad died when I was a kid. My mom left when I was a baby. I was hoping to maybe find her.
no subject
[Hux replied and tried to make an attempt to be reassuring. It was an awkward attempt, but he was trying and was sincere with it. He was a bit hesitant with the rest of the information. He wasn't keen on sharing such personal information, but Keith was revealing some and he felt it safe to do so.]
I never knew my mother. I was taken from her when I was young to be trained for my the military my father was in. I recently learned she had passed away when I tried to find her. Where someone had poisoned my father.
no subject
I'm sorry. That can be hard to deal with.
[Keith wasn't sure how he'd feel if he found out his mom was dead. Honestly, he wouldn't be surprised, but, right now, he had the hope of potentially finding her alive. He wasn't ready to admit that she was dead, yet.]
no subject
Hopefully you can get your questions answered in your search.
no subject
That's the goal.
[He finished up his meal.]
Glad to see you're settling in okay, though... even if Pidge can be something of a pain. I uh... I guess I can try talking to her about it. Or talk to Shiro to talk to her about it. Or something.
no subject
[Hux replied with a nod in his direction. He moved to pay for their meals. It was the least he could do since Keith had been a big help to him when he first arrived.]
no subject
Oh... you don't have to do that...
no subject
[Hux firmly stated as he paid for the meals.]
no subject
Thanks.
