[If your character dreams, they may be visited by either Baku or Castiel within the next two weeks. They'd appear suddenly in their dream or, if no dream is available, they might pull up a neutral space for your character to ease into before talking to them.

They're not here to intrude; just to ask permission. Permission to share a memory. If your character has defenses against spiritual/psychic intrusion, they'll take that as a no and leave unless they're responded to.

If you would like your character to just experience the memory (from Castiel's perspective) without threading out the interaction, please feel free to have them acquire this knowledge. If you would like to thread with either Baku or Castiel, please indicate in the subject line if you have a preference.

[Not quite in those words, but pretty much. Disillusion, thy name is Sokka.

He knows he wants answers, but as they come surging in, wow does he regret his choices a little bit. Is that Thor?!!!!. By the time they get to the blob, his mind his reeling. He's never seen anything like that in all his time here. What the hell IS it?

When it's over, he stares at Cas, wide eyed. ]

Wow. Well. That.

[He turns to stare into the middle distance. ]

That sure was A Thing.

Yes. [Gravely.] I couldn't identify the creature either.

I've never seen that before. Not once.

[A fact which is deeply worrying to him. ]

And that was everything?

Subtracting travel time, yes. We couldn't damage the vessel, nor find a way inside, despite considerable efforts towards both.

Most windows were impossible to see through except that one. And the dread...it increased in intensity as we drew closer and remained near the ship, to the point of physical debilitation.

I guess it was worth a try. Though still pretty dumb in the grand scheme of things.

[Lucky they're all about as close to immortal as you can get.]

Huh. Maybe that's where the dread from touching our augments comes from. [His hand subconsciously hovers near the back of his neck. ] Did it feel about the same?

I can't be sure, as I haven't touched the augment myself. [Rolls his eyes]

[It was the WORST IDEA, Cas. ]

But you're willing to go knocking on Atroma's literal front door?

Of course. Do you not seek out answers when you have questions? [Is he supposed to be afraid of those guys? What's the worst they can do, torture and kill? yawn ]

[But Cas, his body is human and prone to dying. ]

Well, I can't actually survive in the vacuum of space- and after what happened to Beau and Diamond I'm a little less excited to go slamming into the Marsvia.

You don't have to. [CONFUSED. Did this guy get the impression that Cas was inviting him or] That's why I chose to do it.

[Sokka exhales, staring at the ceiling. ]

Thanks for clearing that up, buddy. I take it you mean 'seeking answers' some other way?

...everyone must seek out information as they're capable. I can survive the vacuum of space, so that's where I went. You have your own merits and methods, I'm sure, so you'll use those to find answers.

I do, I have been. I got a whole ton of starcharts that...unfortunately nobody recognises. I mean, eventually someone might? Law of averages and everything.

[......ohhhhhh] Ah. You feel inadequate.

[Sokka stares up at him. ]

...Wow, man. Just come right out and say it. Thanks for your subtlety.

No, no- [Crouches down on the ice floe, a bit shorter than Sokka sitting up in the canoe but at least like this they're more eye-to-eye. Castiel's expression is...well, earnest, though maybe not as obviously so to a stranger, but his eyes are wide and imploring at least.] I understand. I constantly find myself inadequate...I understand the frustration.

[The earnestness is...well something at least. Sokka blinks, trying to guess if this is mockery or- no, no it seems legit. ]

You know, I got to give you like... a seven for effort but I'm gonna guess you're not known for your pep talks.

No, not typically. [In fact he usually seems to make things worse, because Dean is so sensitive about things. Sokka looks to be about the same.

Castiel stands back up, hands back into his coat pockets.] I mean what I said. I'm sharing this memory with others in the hope that someone will be able to tell me or do something I can't.

[Sokka rubs the back of his head, considering. ]

I dunno. I mean, I could think on it? If we could breach the hull in any way, we could at least try to get a sample.

That is a future goal. [Wailing on it doesn't seem to do much. They'll have to find a way to break the warding.]

Hmm, it's something to think on. Finding a weak spot and using it to our advantage. It's just the finding part, first. How much of the ship did you guys cover?

The entirety of the exterior, but I've been informed that the ship can change its shape. [Though if it's warded, there must be something inside or around it that can still erect a kind of repelling field even when it assumes a different shape. Powerful magic indeed.]

Yeah that makes sense, especially when we have the calibrations. Were you around for those?

No. But I've heard them referenced; what are they?

They've happened twice- we're taken into the Marsiva, we have our own rooms, but we live in this communal area of the ship. We're induced into sleep at the end of each day, and then we walk into each other's dreams- access each others memories. It's pretty invasive and terrible.

Anyway, when we're on the Marsiva, it's all enclosed into this big space. Like, no way of getting out to the rest of the ship. But there has to be some way through, right? It just makes sense.
