Arrival
Who: Moira and YOU
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Aboard the SS Heron
When: 6/16
Broadcast
[Have you ever beheld the face of sheer displeasure and disdain all at once? Well here it is again if you have and if you haven't...you learned something new. Because Moira is irritated beyond measure at these circumstances.
Though, likely not for the reason you might think.
Behind her is the lab that is hers now. (She doesn't care that it's supposedly another person's as well.) She does have the Lab Support augment, after all.]
I suppose that this sad excuse for a lab is what we are given to work with here. For something with the supposed funds to bring us here and even provide for such things this is rather...pathetic.
[She lifts a bottle (one will notice that it's her right hand which is decidedly purple, has metallic like veins along the surface and even has very long purple nails on it) and it looks like it's taking all the willpower not to sneer at it.]
Is no proper research done in this place? Are there no areas devoted to scientific discovery? I will have to make do if there are not.
[Then, to be polite, she nods her head.]
Thank you for your assistance in this matter.
SS Heron
[Moira's found herself to be wildly disappointed with all of this. Even the location where Winston was raised was more advanced than this and continued to be after the apes took over and attacked the scientists. Arriving on this ship, she'd looked around for a moment before striding forward. She wanted to assess the state of the lab for herself. Likely it would be equally as unpleasant a sight as everything else but there was just one way to be sure of that fact.
Which meant that one was sure to find a very tall woman who was a new arrival brushing away confetti from herself. She wasn't interested in such childish displays. Not when she needed to know what she had to work with so she could begin to rebuild her research.
Not to mention rebuilding her Biotic Grasp.]

There is so much more to learn about life than the mere concepts of lifespans and improved medications.

[She smiles then.]
Rather I am more intrigued to know what it is that you are.

[He nods his head.]
I AM THE ANTHROPOMORPHIC PERSONIFICATION OF DEATH FROM A PLANET KNOWN AS DISCWORLD. A PLEASURE TO MAKE YOUR ACQUAINTANCE, MISS...?
no subject
[As for the personification of Death...]
I am not familiar with your planet but I am familiar with popular portrayals of Death. It is a pleasure. After all, this isn't an opportunity I thought I'd have.
[She really means that too. A chance to talk to Death? This is pretty great in her eyes.]

[He tilts his head in a nod.] GENERALLY, I WORK IN THE SHADOWS AND SPECIAL CONDUITS OF REALITY. MOST PEOPLE DO NOT SEE ME IF THEY DO NOT EXPECT ME TO BE THERE, BUT IN THIS PLACE, THAT BIT OF GLAMOUR IS RENDERED MOOT.
no subject
[Fascinating...]
I suppose it would be expected that the power you use to work from the shadows would be altered here. It would be difficult for you to be part of this apparent show otherwise.

[He'd be frowning if he could.]
I HAD NOT EVEN REALIZED AT FIRST THAT PEOPLE SAW ME FOR WHO I WAS. IT WAS STRANGE, BUT SOMETIMES I SEE RATHER INTERESTING FACES WHEN PEOPLE ARE ENDURING THE INITIAL SHOCK.

[Such foolish arguments exist everywhere. Science. Religion. Everywhere. Her expression suggests that in this case she's siding with Death. After all, a halt to progress is not her favorite thing in the world.]
Oh? Have there been many shocked by who you are?
[Save for her of course. Rather she finds it fascinating has been quietly pondering if she can gather samples from him to study. It's the scientist in her.]
no subject
OH, PLENTY. IT INFORMS ME ON HOW UNIVERSAL THE IMAGE OF DEATH IS, WHICH I RATHER LIKE. UNFORTUNATELY, I ALSO SEE THE GROWING TREND OF MISUNDERSTANDING OF WHAT MY JOB ACTUALLY ENTAILS IN RELATION TO THE SEVERING OF THE SOUL FROM THE BODY. PEOPLE SEEM TO THINK I DO SO WITHOUT CAUSE, BUT IT'S ALL PRE-ORDAINED.

[She's also been responsible for the deaths of others on...many an occasion. She did need to test her device somehow and then of course it did become a weapon.]
