001 | Waking up + Arrival on the Wonderduck
Who: Shinjiro Aragaki
Broadcast: Yeah. All of it.
Action: Marsiva | SS Wonderduck
When: June 27th-30th
Initial Broadcast | Action Aboard the Marsiva | June 27-29
[It actually wouldn't be so bad if his last memory hadn't been faceplanting after standing up against Takaya in defense of Ken. That should have been the end of it. That was how it should have ended.
But Shinji had learned a while ago, things rarely went the way he thought they should. Instinct brought his hand to his chest as he sat up on the cot. No blood, no torn fabric, no...gaping bullet hole where his lungs should be. Before he even sets about taking stock of where he is, he pulls off that coat, pulls up the black turtleneck beneathe. His left breast is clear, save for a nasty, though healed, bullet scar. It's clear from the puckering of the skin it was deep, if not a piercing wound.
He grimaces and takes a shuttering breath, shivering as he pulls the shirt back down and shrugs back into his coat. It was then that the displays around him started to catch his attention, and his confusion only deepens. He wanders a little aimlessly until the great expanse of space is sprawled out before him through the viewing windowed.
He releases a breath he hadn't realized he was holding.]
...what the Hell...?
SS Wonderduck | Action | Everybody, meet your new cook
[Okay, so. He'd been kidnapped. Cool. No, not really. He'd been graverobbed, resurrected, and stuck on a space ship. Okay. Sure. Whatever. That's cool. He'd been almost happy to note his Evoker was still in his pocket. Awesome.
Even though someone had warned him about this part, though, he still wasn't prepared for it.
There's a tall, lithe, beanie-wearing, maroon peacoat-sporting sourpuss covered in confetti on the bridge of the SS Wonderduck, though. He looks down at the colorful paper dusting the breast of his coat, shoves his hands in his pocket and scoffs.]
Cute.

...I mean, I guess it's kinda cool that I can fly a spaceship.

Apparently, he got to be an astronaut on a TV show.]
...pretty much. [And that's not something he really wants to think about.] So. What's good. [He wiggled the menu slightly.]

Honestly? Everything is good. My favorites are the spaghetti, the omelette, and the space tacos.
no subject
...that why the spaghetti's named after you?

[He's reminded of Akihiko...and his love of ramen. Sort of the same thing, right, but Italian?]
Mister Jarvis doesn't sound like a bad guy.

[Maybe Shinji would have to try to meet this guy...someday. When he was up to meeting a bunch of people.]
Uh...water's fine.

Anything else?

This just a part-time job for you?

[ He nods...really really sure where to go from here... ]
...what do you do on your ship?

What augment did you get assigned?
no subject
...cook.

[ What he does have, and what he doesn't really tell people, is a gift for it. He can watch someone make something, even on TV, and make it perfectly, presentation and all. ]

You ever tried to learn anything?

[ Granted, he's never really tried to teach anyone, either. ]

[ He shrugs, though. ]
If you don't screw it up.

I can't make any promises, but I'll try.

Yeah, we'll see.
