Dammit I'm a Killer, Not a Chef
Who: Makie and you
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: Iskaulit
When: Now?
[Figures. She finds a job with a charming enough gentleman and he up and vanishes from the Fleet.
Probably that's a good thing, and really Makie wasn't terribly attached to her new job. But Jarvis put a lot of love into the Melting Pot, and the idea of it becoming abandoned in his absence is disheartening. It may be that he's left it to someone. She doesn't know. But nobody's turned up to claim it.
So.]
I assume those that know him are already aware that Mr Jarvis has left the Fleet. Does... anyone know if he wished anything to become of his restaurant in his absence? I'm not sure whether I should try to find a new owner or...
[She trails off. Clean everything, pack it up, distribute leftover food that's still good to the bars... you know, close it down completely. It seems a shame.]
--------
[She visits the memory tree later, to add Takeshi's name to its branches.
In a week or so, she'll be back to add somebody else. Good luck to you, Sam.]
((ooc: if anyone had plans to take on the restaurant, sing out, it's all yours. Makie's just kitchen staff and wants it to go to a good home.))
voice;
I wasn't aware... I thought he was absent, but I didn't know him well enough to look into it any further. I've been cooking with him at the restaurant.
voice;
I apologise. I didn't intend to break the news in such a fashion. I work as a kitchen hand...
[Though this voice is unfamiliar. She hesitates.] I don't believe we've met. My name is Makie.

[People come and go; you learn to live with it. At least this time it wasn't someone he considered to be close.]
I've seen you around- you've probably served my dishes, too. My name is Mikleo, and we haven't met because you're not able to see or hear me yet. I'm a- ...a spirit, of sorts.

It's nice to meet you. Sorey... comes to see me sometimes. He's very fond of you. I hadn't realised I was working with you, though.
no subject
That's alright, many people don't. It's part of why I stay mostly in the kitchen- I didn't want to startle anybody with a floating plate of food.

I will be sure to keep your presence in mind. It must be inconvenient to have so many not make way for you when needed.

...is there any way of ever seeing you?

About the restaurant, I think we can keep it running ourselves, even if it's on limited hours. [He's certainly not going to be cooking every day, his life is busy enough.] I like the idea of there being a restaurant.
no subject
...so do I. I'll do what I can to help, in that case.

He took me on to bus tables and take orders.
video;;
I seem to have accidentally broken the news to several, by the sounds of things. I am sorry.
I think if you could help still, that would be wonderful. I just... I'm no chef. [She smiles faintly.] I take orders and wash dishes.
Re: video;;
[ He shrugs. ]
That makes two of us. I can't remember the last time I cooked something. I mean, at least decently. Has anyone shown interest?
video;;
Mr Jarvis did not do all the cooking, however. Perhaps one of his assistants would be willing.
video;;
video;;
It's nice to meet you, in any case. My name is Makie.
video;;
Nice to meet you, Makie. I'm Carl.
video;;
I'll let you know as soon as I hear anything. Or perhaps someone will make an announcement. I'm not... really in charge of this, I suppose.
video;;
Don't have to be, you know. We're all kind of in this together. We'll figure it out, right?
video;;
You're right. I'm sure we can arrange something.
video;;
Even if we have to stumble through it until we find a leader.
video;;
Perhaps in the meantime we can still try serving some of the simpler things.

[He could just watch this announcement, but that sounds like more work then just getting Makie to tell him.]
no subject
Mmm.
[I am very committed.]

Actually, I've been meaning to ask you somethin'. How would you feel about sparring together sometime?
no subject
...though that is an interesting question. Not altogether out of the blue, but she gives him a curious look.]
Any particular reason?
no subject
[Should he be mentioning dojo stuff to her? Eh, probably fine. She didn't exactly seem gun ho about continuing Anotsu's work here.]
no subject
[She remembers Kogarasumaru, though. The fine-boned young man who opened a dojo and was looking for students. She's not exactly student material, so she left it be.]

I want to train with someone I know won't hold back. Also I know I wouldn't need to hold back against you. [As long as you were being serious of course.]
no subject
...honestly, she's come across much weirder by now. She doesn't bother asking why Manji feels the need to beat him. The answer's always the same for swordsmen.
She could do with a sparring partner. One that can take what she dishes out.]
I have a room I practice in close by where the swimming pool is.
Keywords seem appropriate right now.
That shouldn't be too hard to find. Just let me know when you're free to meet up. I'm good pretty much any time.
psh don't know what you mean
Weekly. Saturday.

...I think it would be good to spar against someone that I cannot kill.
[Is that an answer? She looks forward to lopping your limbs off. :D]
