[They've been on a schedule in order to study this mist but the progress is proving to be slow even with this upgraded lab. Moira finds that remarkably irritating while at the same time accepting that there is nothing that can be done about that. This is what happens when not enough resources are devoted to the technology required to allow science to progress.

Still, it's been an interesting distraction. Even if she has to work with others, at least this means she can still look into this peculiar substance.

Which is why she arrives exactly on time without fail every single day the lab is available. And perhaps she takes some of the experimentations back to her own lab for what little she can do there. It's how she's figured out some of the side effects of the mist.

Yes, she willingly subjects herself to this.

She's fine today, of course. Studying a liquid she's created from a couple of the samples to try to figure out what chemical and biological components are in this mist. Looking to her...companions, she looks to see what progress they've made themselves.]

A shame this lab doesn't have better technology than this. We could have made greater progress than this if it had.

[ Loki is dressed in his black suit, instead of his usual leathers. It makes sense, especially among other people. ]

Where do we start?

[She looks over from her vial.]

Our first step will be in breaking down these liquids of the mist to their basic compounds. Discover what they are made from.

[ Loki's gaze flicks over their equipment in distaste. ]

Is there a way to do that here?

Time will tell.

[She makes a noise of disgust as she brings the vial over to get a drop out of it.]

I have already investigated the side effects. Now we need to know what has created this mist.

Then it is man-made?

I suspect not. So it is unclear if it is plant or chemical compound creating these side effects. Not to mention what else it could be used for and capable of.

[ Loki hums, picking up one of the vials. His hands glow slightly. ]

Do we have a record of the fauna on the planet?

I have been cataloging one for my own purposes. What it will tell us when we are not so familiar is unclear. I would suggest speaking to the locals to see what they have to say.

[All the same she brings up her findings and slides it over for him to look at. Then she watches what he does with his hand, clearly intrigued.]

[ loki's senses lets him notice things others miss. truthfully, his magic, while powerful, was not the best tool in his arsenal. the liquid shifts, colours separating before merging back together. ]

[ Escha shows up almost every day - when she's not exploring the world below, gathering her own mist samples, or working on her other projects back in her own lab.

Whenever she's here, she's happy to help anyone who needs it, and also more than happy to talk about her own experiments: isolation and concentration of the components that aren't "just water". But... she agrees with Moira - the lack of progress is frustrating. She sighs. ]

I know this place gives us terrible labs on purpose... I wish there was some better way around it.

[She lets out a disgusted noise as she gets a drop of the water out so they can run tests on it.]

The best we have is to improve matters for ourselves. Until then we must push forward with what we have now.
