001 - Late & Long Hellos [OPEN]
Who: Freya Vaughn
Broadcast: Entire Fleet
Action: SS Heron, SS Iskaulit, maybe Marsiva
When: 14th – 21st –ish [Backdated a little.]
VIDEO | arrival | Backdated 14th
[Freya is not accustomed to waking up in strange places. Okay, that isn't completely true. She has woken up in strange places but she generally remembers how she gets there. She might be shaky and forgetful with names but sights and scents were always crystal clear. At first she smells metal, a lot of metal, and then her clothes.
When is the last time she had washed them? She opens her eyes, looking around and then closes her eyes again. When that doesn't work she shifts, wiggling a bit in the bed to moved something sharp that's stabbing her in the back. Oh! Her backpack is under her. That is not a great place for that. She wiggles again and looks a little bit like a fish on a bed.
Maybe she should get up? Yeah. Getting up sounds like a semblance of a plan; like 12% of a plan.
Freya is short and curvy. Her hair is long and messy, falling in wheat colored blond waves over her thin shoulders. She's wearing a black tank top, showing off the tattoos she has on her shoulder, arm, shoulder blade and then behind her ear. She's silent and calm for about ten minutes until a very loud voice is unknowingly broadcasted.]

[The feed cuts.]
[Freya comes back with the video propped in her lap. She got the 411 and decides that she might as well continue to use the Skype function. It seems to be the trend, not that Freya makes a habit of following the cools kids of the space-ways. Not that Freya has ever been to space before.]
Okay, my creative swearing montage is over though it seriously needed background music like, Rocky style, Eye of the Tiger, or something.
[There is a decent pause before Freya continues again.]
So I got the details but I have a series of ridiculous questions and movie references to make. I also really want background music. If this is a TV show there should be background music. Anyone got an Ipod? I'll go as far back as a boom-box as long as it's small because, well, I'm small. I can hold up a penny for reference but I don't have one.
SS HERON | Engineering/Halls | 14th – 19th
[It's been a whirlwind of a day. Freya wakes up on one ship, has confetti thrown in her face a few hours later and told that she's going to another ship. They should really make up their mind about this kind of thing. Not that Freya minds because the new ship is small and cute. She also gets to tinker in the mechanic room without someone breathing over her shoulder.
So, that's cool.
When Freya arrives on the Heron, she bee-lines to the mechanic room. Her mission: find goggles. Engineers in space should have goggles. It isn't actually a necessity but she's doing what she needs to do in order to be comfortable with the messy she's found herself in. Not that she minds being relocated but Freya's never been a fan of long trips in tiny places. It's why she doesn't like cars. Working on cars is fine but being in them is painful. She'd much rather run everywhere, except that you can't run in space.
Well, maybe you can but not far.
After her a lot of searching and loud clamoring noises, Freya explores the rest of the ship and locates her room. The food is . . . interesting. She'll have to test that later and see if her allergy might kill her here but it's not currently the main focus of her exploration. What does capture her attention is the very uncomfortable swivel chair in her room. Freya eyes the exit to the room, then the chair, and then proceeds to take the chair apart and relocate it at the end of the long hallway that spans the center of the ship.
She puts her feet on the wall and pushes off, giggling the entire way down the hall. That is, until she hits someone or something and falls over.]
SS ISKAULT | Maab's Sceptre | 20th
[She's been told by at least two sources that there is a mountain somewhere on one of the ships. Once she locates where to go, she jumps in a shuttle –-without bothering to ask how it works-—and somehow manages to get there. As Freya's motto goes; 'If you have an understanding of Physics, anything is possible.'.
Reading instruction manuals help. Even if no one ever reads the instruction manual.
Freya doesn't get lost but she does wander around a bit before finding the mountain in question. She inhales a deep breath, tasting cold air, rock and water. There is something different about it, the faint scent of magic swirling around it but it is definitely real and definitely awesome. She doesn't find any trails up the mountain but that doesn't deter Freya. She steps through the gardens and begins heading towards the top of that mountain.
It might not be something she can climb in one day but she'll give it a decent try.]

[Freya doesn't elaborate more than that though she looks like she's being entirely serious about it. After all, getting people out of vents is messy and possibly difficult work. Bull looks like has has the height and the arm strength to pull it off.]
no subject
How about this: you don't go getting stuck in vents.
no subject
If you say so.
[Her expression quickly breaks into a smile.]
Okay, I'm not serious. Anyway, what do the people on this ship do for fun? Besides going to other ships?

[Something else they have in common though Freya needs to check out this Carol person.]
So I've heard. I'm planning to check it out once I get my barrings here. Kinda peaking into every nook and cranny.

[Eventually she'll get an itch to run or cabin fever and then everyone should be weary.]
You don't ever get bored here, do you?
no subject
[ He rolls his shoulder in a shrug. ]
Besides, sometimes being bored's better than...you know, zombies.
[ That happened. That sucked. ]
no subject
[She doesn't like staying in one place for long.]
Wait. You're comparing zombies to being bored.
[Freya curls her fingers towards him as if to tell him to cough up the rest of that story.]
Keep talking friend.
no subject
I had to kill a friend that day, so...no. I think we'll leave it at that.
no subject
[That's awkward.]
Sorry.
no subject
Don't be. Shit happens all the time, if not to people you know, then to people you don't, sometimes at the same time. I just don't want to talk about it, Pixie. No hard feelings, though.

[She lifts her shoulders in a shrug.]
How about you show me where the mess hall is and I get out of your metaphorical hair?
no subject
[ He does point to the far end, though, where there's a ladder leading up. ]
Chow's that way.
no subject
I'm going to Chow.
[She pauses for a half second before pushing her chair towards where he'd pointed.]
Chow!
no subject
See ya, Pixie.
