welcome to the ss vanquish

Who: Anyone!
Broadcast: None at first but you can if you'd like!
Action: SS Vanquish
When: April 11th-17th

[A new ship and a bunch of new people. Some have been waiting on the Marsiva to be sorted for longer than others. We don't have a cook. Or an engineer. Or even one of the comms guys.

We have... girls. A bunch of cute girls and one cute boy, who is the pilot. This'll be interesting.]

[... Okay, now you're talking.]

Really? Sonata wants to see, wants to see!
geonomy: (☆ makes me feel alive)

Then come on over!

[Clay plops into the pilot's seat, eyes sweeping over the controls while she comes over. There's the autopilot button, which is already on, there's the control yoke, the joystick, the rudder petals...]

Okay. Let's see what this baby can do!

[First, he gets a hand on the controls, then he presses the button. The button. The button that turns off the autopilot and hands all of the power to him.

The ship lurches a bit, but Clay's got a pretty firm grip once he's got both hands on the yoke. Once he steadies the ship, he bring one hand down to the throttle, then slowly moves it upward, causing the ship to move forward.]

We have lift-off!

[Well, in that case, she'll sit herself down wherever she can nearby, as she watches him closely. When he turns off the autopilot, she leans in closer, to get a better look, and ultimately, Sonata is completely absorbed in watching him pilot, fascinated. She's never really been up in the cockpit area of the Flying Get, so this is super neat!

But then admittedly Sonata's a tiny space idol and it is not hard to catch said tiny's attention if something is cool and interesting enough.]

[There's a lot a pilot has to do to keep a ship going, even in a place with zero gravity like space! Clay doesn't want to go too fast or do any neat tricks though; those are reserved for when there's no one else on the ship and no valuables can be potentially broken. Plus, he's pretty sure it'd make Sheena mad.]

There's a lot more buttons and switches than you'd think there would be, right?

Mm, I guess so. Sonata's never seen a ship's controls up close before.

[Seems... legit, though? As far as she can tell.]
geonomy: (☆ old but i'm not that old)

I was about to pilot a space ship back at home, too. The controls looked different, but everything still works kind of the same. [Something makes the ship go, something makes it turn side to side and another makes it go up and down, among many other things. Pretty legit.]

So, Sonata, right? What's it like where you come from?

Sonata is an idol! Sonata is a member of the interstellar idol group AKB0048, 'the idols that come to see you'! We travel around and bring hope and love to people across the stars.

geonomy: (☆ but baby i've been praying hard)

[personal profile] geonomy 2015-04-19 09:51 am (UTC)(link)
Whoa, really? That's so cool! [And he means it; He didn't really expect her to say that she's an idol who travels the stars to spread hope and love, and it's amazing to hear.] So you're used to this space travel thing, huh?
sonati: (Aitakatta!)

[Admittedly, the average eleven or twelve year-old isn't going to have 'space idol' as an occupation, let alone a ten year-old, which was how old she was when she first demanded to join.]

Mm! Sonata's been with 00 for almost two years now. [She... thinks? Give or take a few months, perhaps, because her sense of time is a little off after spending so long in the Digital World, returning home, and returning back to Terminal Tokyo.] I'm only a kenkyuusei, but one day Sonata will be a successor.
geonomy: (☆ said no more counting dollars)

[Yeaaah, Clay doesn't know what any of that means, but he sure can tell that she's happy about it. So!]

Just to give me some context, what's the difference between a, uh... kenkyuusei and a successor?
