[The Lance on screen right now isn't exactly the same cheerful Lance most people are used to. He looks exhausted both physically and mentally, dark circles under his eyes, and it's clear that he hasn't bothered to take care of his appearance yet like he usually fastidiously does. Clearly, his little "vacation" hasn't made him be restful at all.]

Uh... Hey, I'm back. Looks like a few of us went all disappearing act again. But we're here now.

[He's quiet for a while, at an unusual loss for words.]

Looks like Earth's gonna have to wait a little while longer. I mean, I'm not too mad about it. This place... I like it here.

[Another pause, and he scrubs at his face.]

Um, yeah, that's about it, I guess? Thanks to everyone who took care of the pets. I know it's like a zoo here. Anyway. This is Lance, signing out.



[B - Action]

[Lance can be found both aboard the Huntress and Iskaulit, re-familiarizing himself with the ships. There's less of a pep in his step than before. Still, he goes to visit the animals, the pool, the bar, and various other places. Sometimes, he just walks. Feel free to bump into him anywhere.]

[After seeing his broadcast, Kaname's on her way to the Iskaulit to look for him. Of course, she finds him at the bar, sitting alone in a booth. Wow, how sad. She grabs some snacks and drinks from the back (she'll pay Nami later) and goes over to sit across from him.]

If you're going to pull a disappearing act, give a girl some notice, won't you?

[Biffy smells him before he sees him on the Iskaulit. And, well, stuck in wolf form or not, he's pleased to have his friend back. So he trots through the halls until he finds him.

Right away he notices something...off about Lance. Like there's something weighing on him. Which means that Lance will suddenly feel a wolf nose at his hand as he tries to do what he can to comfort him.

It's...the best he can do right now, friend. Sorry.]

[Hey, after what he's been through lately, some solo drinking is totally allowed. Even if he's only 19 and not some middle aged divorcee or something.

Lance blinks and turns to look up at Kaname, giving her a little smile.]

Sorry, Kaname. You know how these things go. One minute you're here, then poof.

[the_tailor]

[He doesn't notice the wolf before he's pressing his nose against his palm. Lance startles, but gets himself under control. Sure, maybe he should be more concerned that a wolf is just walking around, but hey. Not like he's being eaten or anything.

Strange, though, that he's never seen that anyone had a wolf as a pet here.]

Oh... Hey, buddy. What's up?

[He's beginning to think he should show his wolf form to all of his friends here at least once so that way this situation doesn't keep coming up. Though, at least with Kirk it made more sense since the man was also glitched at the time. Sighing softly, he looks to see his salon is nearby. Closed currently because he can't do anything there but it will work.

Trotting over to it, he sits by it and looks at Lance expectantly. The best way to figure out how to tell him that this is him? Try to show him.]

[Lance looks between the shop and the wolf. And doesn't put two and two together, not yet.]

Yeah, honestly, I could use one of Biffy's treatments and his awesome tea right now. Wonder where he's gone off to. Guess I'll ask Shiro when he gets better.

[A sigh, and he slumps against the wall next to the wolf before sliding down just to sit there.]

[Well, it was worth a shot. But he gives up on trying to get him to understand the moment he sees Lance slide down like that, hears him wanting him. He wishes he could say something but...

Walking over, he lays down and puts his head right onto his friend's lap, nosing at his hands. He isn't one to always offer to allow others to pet him but...Lance seems to need it. So he wants to offer that to him. Because he can't give him a treatment or tea right now. But he can do this.]

[Looking kinda rough there, friend.]

[He's a little surprised, but definitely pleased when he sees how affectionate this wolf is being. As if it can sense how bad he's feeling. He remembers, though... Dogs can be really empathetic, right? So it makes sense.

Lance starts to pet the wolf with one hand, taking comfort in the soft fur.]

I appreciate it, buddy. I was starting to think no one was gonna notice how I feel.

[A smile, if a tired one.]

Thanks, man. Good to be back?

[No one? How could anyone not notice? In his eyes, Lance isn't that good at hiding how he feels. Then again, because he cares about him, he knows he's been paying more attention to him.

But he can't comfort with words now so he just nuzzles his head against him and makes himself comfortable to be here as long as Lance needs him to be.]

Never first hand, but I've heard stories.

[She places the items on the table and sits back, waiting for him to take first choice.]

Yeah. This is time number three for me. Never know when it's gonna happen.

[Another blink. Well, several of them.]

Huh? ...Are you sure?

[the_tailor]

[For now, he just continues to stroke the wolf's fur. Lance wonders for a while if he should just stay quiet, but...hell, he's already started a tradition of unloading his feelings to animals. They don't judge. They're not too busy to notice him.]

It's stupid, I know. And I'm probably moping about it way more than I should. But I've never felt so...alone, I guess? I mean, being back here is swell because we're still really tight here. But the way things are going at home, I just manage to muck up one thing after another. So I get why I'm the odd one out. Still feels like crap, though.

[dandyofawolf]

[Well now part of him wants to go to all the people from Lance's world and growl at them for making him feel this way. But he knows that's partially protective instincts of being a werewolf. Lance may not be pack but he's something of an adopted pack for him. He cares about him and doesn't want him hurting like this.

So Lance gets a wolf head nestled against his stomach for extra comfort.]

It's not their fault, really. Shiro was....well, not Shiro. Keith was hyperfocused on him. Pidge and Hunk were still doing their own thing. And Allura was allllll over Lotor before he turned out to be a total monster. Which I called, mind you, but did anyone listen? Nooooooo. Don't listen to Lance, Lance is just jealous because he's crushing on Allura.

[Groan.]

I'd do anything for the team. I did everything. Try not to die, little buddy, it sucks. But I still feel like nothing's ever gonna be enough. Couldn't even help Shiro...couldn't do anything until Keith swooped back in and saved the day.

[Lance went through so much during that time that he was gone. So much. And to have him feel this way after all that...

Biffy lifts his head and nuzzles his nose to Lance's cheek. He...can't hug him properly. He doesn't have arms. So he just sits up and leans against him, putting his head on his shoulder. It's the best he can do in the moment to let him know that he still believes in his friend. That he won't let him be alone.]

[the_tailor]

[It's like the wolf actually can understand what he's saying. And even if he's pretty sure that's not the case, it still feels nice.]

I just wanna figure out how I can be good enough. Someone more than just the joke of the team. Sure, I'm an amazing sharpshooter, but other than that? Not much to offer. I can't even really work to try to keep the team in good spirits because I don't know if they're completely tired of me or not. If I'm just a total nuisance.

[dandyofawolf]

[Oh Lance. He doesn't believe that at all. He sees someone so caring and willing to do anything for his friends. To keep doing that even when one isn't sure if they're even wanted... Biffy closes his eyes as he keeps leaning against him like this.

No. He doesn't think he's a nuisance at all. He has sharp instincts and is apparently skilled with a gun. As far as he's concerned, this team is lucky to have someone as unique and wonderful as his friend.]

[the_tailor]

[He can't help it. Hoping he won't startle the wolf, he leans down and wraps his arms around him, hugging him. Right now, he just needs some physical comfort, even if it is just hugging an animal.]

Maybe...maybe when we get back to Earth, they should find a new red paladin. I don't think I've ever really been cut out for the job. Heck, if Shiro gets better and pilots Black again, Keith will pilot Red, and there you go. Problem solved.

[Sorry, Biffy. Lance has been keeping too much inside too long and he's just venting it all out right now.]

[He's not startled in the slightest. He just tucks his head around Lance's neck. In fact, he reaches out with one paw to rest it on his back as best he can. Hugging is not something that his easily done in wolf form.

Closing his eyes, he lets his friend say all that he needs to. It's clear he's been keeping this in for too long. If it's him who gets to hear it then at least someone does so that his friend isn't alone through his feelings.]

You trying to hug me, buddy?

[He gives a little huff of a laugh before hugging the wolf tighter to him.]

Man, I should hire you as my therapy wolf. Keith isn't the only one who gets to have a cool wolf in space.

<sub>[ Kirk had just turned back into his adult self that morning, which was a small blessing when he saw this. His younger self would have no idea what to do, and probably be a jerk about it as well. He hadn't been the best teenager. Maybe there was such a thing as fate.

He finds Lance in the pool area, figuring the younger man would want to come spend time here since he seemed to love it so much. He walked up behind Lance, reaching up and ruffling his hair gently. ]</sub>

I hope you're not thinking of taking a swim without a buddy.

[He nods in response to the question. It's the first thing Lance has said that has really been good for yes or no really. So, he nods. Yes, he's trying to hug him because Lance clearly needs this so badly.]
