[Vash's knew a pattern when he saw one. He set his communicator off to the side to make sure he didn't bump it in his scramble to deal with whatever insane item the Atroma was going to throw at him for his birthday this year. Still close enough to call for help if it was needed, but he was not going to have an accidental broadcast this year!

Which is why when his communicator starts to broadcast on it's own this year there's a clear view of Vash and Kitty already kissing each other in the Twin Roses's cargo bay. The two captains of the ship don't notice at all that their private moment is being broadcasted out to the whole fleet. Vash almost doesn't even notice when a small colorful bouncy ball suddenly falls out of the sky and bounces off of his spiky head.

It's enough to give him a bit of a pause. The second time one falls onto his head he knows it's not just a fluke.] Wha- [Looking up Vash takes just enough time to dorkishly scream and throw himself over Kitty as cascade of bright and colorful bouncy balls suddenly come raining down into the cargo bay.

The best thing about your ~~girlfriend~~ casual partner being a mutant means that Kitty phases the pair safely as the balls start to bounce and ricochet around the room. A banner that reads: HAPPY 136TH BIRTHDAY drifts down among the chaos. Soon after a bouncy ball with the Floot Loop logo smashes into the communicator and it tumbles to the floor. Turning off in the process.

But don't you worry! Vash will be back a bit later on his own looking grumpily into the camera as he shows the colorful mess on the floor of the cargo bay. Kitty and the banner now gone.] Anyone want a free bouncy ball or hundred? Come clean them off my floor and they're yours.

[Why no. He has no clue that all that got broadcast! Want to clue the birthday boy in?]

(OOC: I am back from my sudden hiatus! Vash will be the one mostly answering on this post, but if you really want Kitty to respond please say so! Sorry for suddenly needing to vanish for about a month. I will be getting back to everyone who has tagged Vash and Manji

[She smirks a little, looking up at him from under the cover of his protection as she keeps them phased.] Were you trying to save me? [Still blissfully unaware any of that was recorded. She'd be more surprised about being attacked with bouncy balls but he did say he was waiting for something from the Atroma so why not that?]

[He also said it would likely be something stupid. He smiles back in his own amusement over the situation. Her power certainly would have been extremely useful back home.] I don't know. Did I at least look heroic? [Oh hey, look at that banner floating down between the two of them.]

Oh yes, I think I might have swooned seeing the first one bounce off your ball-repellent hair. [She looks amused and starts to move in for another kiss but the banner stops her.]

Good thing no one was here to see that, mister secretive.

[Vash sighs as the rain of bouncy balls comes to an end. Although there are still a few bouncing here and there around their legs.] Do they really need to do this every year? [It makes him feel so old.] At least there wasn't any fire this time.

There's been fire? I feel like you could have warned me about fire. Had some fire suppressants ready. Something. [Shaking her head at him.]

Well, it doesn't seem like they're repeating anything. At least not yet.

But maybe we should put a few fire extinguishers in here in case we ever did get another "hot" delivery.

[Freya is just staring at the screen.]

Yes. I want one or two. How do I get where you are?

I can probably build in something better than that. [She bends down to pick up the banner.] I don't suppose you want to wear this as a sash today?

[Even without the feed that was going on, Remy would had still investigated given the sound of several thousand bouncy balls materializing on the ship and bouncing around the bay.

But since he did have forewarning, when he did show up in the cargo bay, it is carrying all three of his cats. Dropping them to the floor, there is a moment of calm as the three terrors tried to work out what was happening, before realizing they were basically in a giant toy pit.]

They goin' to get so over stimulated. [Then again, when did they get a chance to have this happen? May as well make the most of it.]

[Vash stands alone over the mess as he considers how to clean it. Wondering if maybe he could sweep them without the balls rolling all over the place.

He turns and watches Remy come in with the cats.] Oh! That's a good idea! I should get Kuroneko in here wherever she's wandered off to. [Throwing up in his bed. Happy birthday Vash.]

I'm on the Twin Roses. In the cargo bay. Come on over and you can have any that you pick up.

I wouldn't say no to more safety features around the ship.

[His nose scrunches at the banner.] No thanks. I'd rather use it to test the fire extinguisher once you get it installed.

Cool. I'm still new at this whole 'getting around thing'.

[The Vision had been chilling in Engineering when he got the broadcast, and--okay, so he had to go see the bouncy balls for himself, and he should probably help clean them up. Right? He's definitely not smirking a bit and wanting to tease Kitty about dating her coworkers. Definitely not.

He phases dwown through the ceiling and hovers insubstantial so as not toget pelted by any overenthusiastic toys.]

Er, happy birthday, Captain. I'd no idea you were so old.

I can give you our drifting coordinates. One moment. [After a bit of time the SS Twin Roses coordinates will be texted through.]

If you're a pilot your shuttle should be fine to come over on, but if you're not a pilot and worried about flying I could come get you and bring you over.

I dunno. How many old man jokes do you think I'd get if people knew? [He's laughing and smiling as he makes that light hearted comment that is intended to be taken as a joke. Yet there is a hint of the truth hidden in there. How many people will comment about how he's different from them?]

You mean from people who aren't me? Possibly none? I mean, we had a few immortals in Marina and they were pretty open about it and I don't think it was ever a big deal. I guess I didn't specifically ask, but Jack and I were pretty close and he never mentioned anything.

[Vash jumps from surprise. He was use to Kitty appearing out of walls by now, but the ceiling was still a new thing to him. Although he quickly recovers from his mini heart attack to laugh off Vision's comment.]

I'm not that old! Besides! What matters is what is in your heart and I'm still young at heart! So therefore I am young and not old! At least... I think that's how that works.

[Not realizing anyone saw anything, Kitty takes a totally natural and not at all sudden move back away from Vash when she realizes Vision is joining them. God, her powers are annoying when she's not the one using them. She also very nearly trips on some of those balls, but rights herself with her annoying powers since prat falls aren't really her thing.]

Hey, Vish...on. [Smooth. Everything is smooth.] Saw the banner, huh? [Wait, where is the banner? Isn't it crumbled up on the floor?

I went to a small gathering of immortals here once. It was interesting. [In how normal it was. Just relaxing and having drinks with people older than him. It was nice.] But I'm more worried about you! You know what they say about women who have casual a relationship with men older than them. [He winks as he says it. Still teasing because he's not actually that worried about her reputation as he knows Kitty can take care of herself.

It's just his natural defense to deflect and joke away from topics he's not sure he's comfortable talking about. He's been slowly being better about telling people his real age when, on the rare occasion, he's asked directly here in the fleet. It was still hard to break a habit you've been doing for over a hundred years.]

That I'm in it for your fake space money? Although casual really wouldn't even get me that. [But that isn't really the important part, was it? She leans in to kiss his cheek.]

Age doesn't define you.

You're not old. You're one of the least mature people I know and I mean that. [Smirking. The line between sincerity and wisecracking is so slim.]

I suppose that would explain why most people treat me as an adult. Counting the several years I spent in the Fleet before, I'm a bit under seven myself.

[He blinks, mostly at Kitty backing away. Come now, there's nothing to be ashamed of. Smooching your coworkers is completely normal. Right? Oh, wait, no it's not, that's why he kept his relationship with Wanda secret from everyone except Natasha (being that trying to keep a secret from the Black Widow is both futile and rude).]

Hm? No, I saw the broadcast. Don't tell me it was unintentional?

I am an engineer.

[She points at the screen.]

Who has stubbornly flown once and managed not to crash. [Freya pauses.] I can probably figure it out again though if you don't see me in 30 minutes then I'd very much like you'd to come and find me because I might be lost.

Eh?! Broadcast?! What broadcast?! I don't even have my communicator on me! [It's off to the side, knocked over from the bouncy ball attack.] Did you broadcast anything, Kitty? [Not that he really cares that much if people know. It's more the lack of control and privacy that's gotten him riled up. That and it's Vash being Vash.]

What did you see? [When did it start? When did it finish? HE NEEDS DETAILS?!]
