Who: Haggar and you
Broadcast: No
Action: SS First Breath, Iskaulit
When: Late August/Early Sept
I.
[First Breath]
[ After a certain new arrival had made himself known to the fleet, Haggar has spent more time than she usually does aboard her "home" ship, mostly to frown at Loki's decorated walls and the very particular worlds they shift to represent whenever the cat that's taken to accompanying her around the ship brushes into them in her presence.
Almost like he's doing that on purpose.
In which case it results with her staring off against the cat instead. Because this is perfectly normal.]
Why you insist upon this, I know not, Kova.
[... Well, she's either having a staring contest with him or muttering at him occasionally if he's following her about. She didn't ask for this.
Sometimes he just sits outside the lab or her quarters waiting for her to emerge just to do this. As if she didn't have the ability to teleport.]
II.
[Iskaulit: Misc/Wildcard]
[ She's more cautious with her presence on the Iskaulit these days with regard to the fact that certain people she knows have been notably coming and going, so when she does visit her usual spots, 90% of the time she is in her familiar guise as Katie's double.
Notably, she takes time for meditating in the fox park, a usual favorite resting spot; or reading in the library, or frowning at a chessboard set up in one of the rooms -- or tucked into a quiet booth at one of the food or drink establishments, mostly there to quietly observe others until someone reminds her to actually make an order. Or perhaps an encounter in passing, even if she does her best to take the shortest routes. ]
[Locked To Katie]
[When one is bothered, they seek distractions. In this case, the distraction was movies, as it often was, with Katie. It was enough to willingly subject herself to this asinine sort of torment, but what she really wanted was a way to numb her mind and sort her thoughts without drawing any further attention to herself.
And at least she had left Kova on the ship. But her mind was no less crowded, as Katie herself could likely tell--a certain presence lingering in the theater, sometimes alternating to another, perhaps more menacing form. And last but not least, sometimes a different figure altogether appears, always glaring when he does.
Of course, she's not really aware of how prominent her thought-cluttering is, her eyes fixed on the screen as another movie rolls to it's ending, even if everything about her seems distinctly disinterested.]

no subject
[And none of it too helpful, since it includes all kinds of ridiculous broadcasts, and people are wary to speak openly of the more intriguing intel over it. But she'll gesture for her to follow her out of the library.]
Might want to make certain that it is off. It likes to be inconvenient, you know.
no subject
[ But it's just as expected--a lot of chaos, really, and Allura has watched some broadcasts with amusement and others with raised brows.
Allura glances about, then follows Lucy out of the library. ]
I've noticed there have been quite a few unintended broadcasts.
[ She'll take her communicator out and turn it off on the advice, in that case. ]
no subject
It was so odd to be speaking to her so casually. As casually as she could manage while being distracted and forgetting to slip in a few of her more prominent go-to quirks for "Lucy", but she was maintaining the tone at least, a lilt she had to work on, as opposed to her usual low gravelly voice or a persistently even tone. This guise required so much effort. ]
Whether it is due to the device itself, or remote interference from our hosts, none can say.
[ Or the augments, possibly. ]
It is unreliable for important recordkeeping, so other methods are used.
no subject
[ Allura has gone through many of the archived posts on the network and found many to be more of entrainment than educational value. Though that is likely the intent of their captors. ]
What methods are those?
[ She speaks in a lower voice, feeling as if this is supposed to be something kept between passengers. ]
no subject
[Very primitive by anyone's standards... except for those who were pretending to be from earth, so she allows a little shrug to accompany it.]
Paper notes. Anyone can add to them, but for some reason they are kept here.
[She stops walking, opening up a door to a room that seems filled with some odd mismatched chairs, a desk, a lecture hall that doesn't seem to have had much use. Though there's nothing visibly indicative of records being kept, at least not immediately.]
no subject
Of course. Something not so easily transferred en masse, nor hacked into.
Allura pauses at the entrance, glancing at Lucy, then steps inside. ]
What is this place?
no subject
This is the Lecture hall. I do not know if anyone arranges Lectures.
[Even if there is some evidence of the room being used for some teaching purpose.
She gives a wary glance around, before moving over to where the pattern in the floor looks slightly different, and gestures downward.]
... Here. It needs to be moved.
no subject
She stops behind Lucy and then looks down. ]
...I see. Up and over?
[ She's confident she can move anything she needs to, but she doesn't want to break it. ]
no subject
[Ordinarily she'd use magic and skip the manual portion of this, but now she stoops carefully, pressing the pattern in a certain spot that pops the floor panel, which makes it easier to lift - up and over to the side, gently.
What it reveals is a relatively small compartment, enough to seem empty unless one reaches for the hidden box in the shadows.]
It is a lot to read through, but various people have added notes to this... guide of sorts. When they think to add them.
no subject
Allura crouches down close to the ground to see what is inside. ]
It's a living document, a record of everything that's been learned. That's...invaluable.
no subject
It can be added to at any time. Although... I do not know if anyone has done so since the last time I browsed it.
[Which was admittedly well over a system or two ago and she had many other things preoccupying her mind.]
no subject
[ Allura nods, gaze falling to the box that Lucy holds. ]
May I?
no subject
[ She hands it over to her. ]
It may take some time to go over the contents, if you want to look them over in peace.
17 pages of shit omg
Yes, that would be wonderful. You've done so much for me in such a short amount of time. I only hope that I am able to repay the favor.
merry holiday season
In a way, this was but paying a courtesy forward, given the very reason she was aware of this at all was because of Keith not immediately recognizing her at her arrival.
It was a very deep irony. As if she would ever be able to extract any sort of "favor" from Allura herself, regardless of the help she had offered her now. She could deal with the dark humor of that later.]
Perhaps someday. I would not worry about it, however.
[But smiling--perhaps a bit enigmatically, she moves over to the door to take her leave. Definitely time to go.]
It was very nice meeting you, Allura.
