one ☀ video / action

Who: Mal
Broadcast: Fleetwide
Action: SS Caprine
When: After the shuffle!

[The first thing she did once she got a good handle on exactly what was going on - which, for the record, she did not need help with, she is a perfectly capable and independent adult vampire, it's fine - was dive into the engine room and begin to pull things apart. There is knowledge brimming out of her mind that she has no origin for or control over, it's chaotic and it's mad and she loves it.]

[She broadcasts from the engine room, looking at a wrench admiringly. She's messy and a little greasy, but it's a suave sort of messy and greasy. Gods only know how she manages this.]

I'd be interested to know how many people are actually upset about this. Being here. Because I know all sorts of things now that I never could have known before, and that's worth something, I think.

Also, have there ever been any riots here? I think I could do with a good riot sometime soon.

Always a tragedy when that happens. Though you do seem to have dressed for the occasion! That's something, surely.

[ A suave sort of messy and greasy indeed. ]

It looks it.

[ Which he says with some gusto. Just some, mind you. Mild to moderate gusto. ]

Have you had a look in your locker? They should have given you a sort of ...suit thing.

[ Jumpsuit, Hawke. ]

Too true. Or so I'm told!

[ He's never worn a uniform a day in his life. ]

The suit thing might save your suit thing, is what I mean to say. In case of ...I don't know, unfortunate spills or explosions or whatever risks one runs around engine parts.

[ Spoiler: he did not get that augment. ]

[ He laughs, a low, easy chuckle that wends its way up his throat in oscillations. ]

Now that you bring it up you do have an air of fastidiousness about you. I wasn't going to mention it. Seems impolite to slap on a stranger.

[ Do either of them seem pressed at all to exchange useful information? No? Fine. ]

My name's Hawke, by the by. Surely after such choice words have been exchanged - [ yes, he is talking about 'fastidious' ] - we can consider ourselves on a--well, family name basis, in my case.

[ Hawke likes to let people think he doesn't actually have a first name, so this is fine. ...actually fine, not in the 'everything is on fire' sense of fine. ]

It does cut down on all those pesky syllables. Truly, who has the time?

Two months. Give or take the odd spate of time where no one knows what's going on because everything's on fire. If that's a prelude to questions with real answers I can tell you right now you're barking up the wrong tree. I like to keep mine nondescriptive and slippery. Does mean I'm almost never wrong, though!

All right. [ He considers, with gusto. ] No, yes, no, Maker no, yes, although consider that you'll have to touch the thing to do that, and only every second Tuesday.

Perfect. I strive never to be exceptional. Too much pressure.

[ This is approximately as truthful, at least in terms of how successful 'less pressure' has ever been, as uh...nothing. Ever. ]
