Who: Wanda Maximoff
Broadcast: Yes
Action: A music store in Relnyx
When: Today
Look at this!
[Yes, there are little wisps of red at the edges of the feed. No, your communicator's not broken. Wanda's just holding hers aloft with her powers to show a good look at the instrument in front of her. It looks like a theremin, or what would pass for one in this corner of the universe. The vertical antenna is instead a spiral with lights that slowly shift colors, and the entire thing is a shiny chrome.
Wanda moves her hand (the one that isn't glowing for good measure) over the horizontal antenna and it makes a sound not unlike a synthesized string section. The notes change as her hand position does, and while it's not a particular melody, Wanda clearly thinks it's very cool.
She does the same thing with the other hand, and the space beside the vertical antenna almost sings. Someone offscreen says something to her, and when Wanda changes her technique to include vibrato it sounds like a very good synthesized voice.]
--like this? [Apparently the answer is 'yes,' because Wanda grins and turns back to the camera.] They have so many strange instruments here, but I've never seen one like this.
It is not what I'm used to, but it would be something to do while we drift.

It's... sensing your hand? [Is that what's happening?]
no subject
Something about the waves from the antenna.
no subject
Will you be bringing one back to the ship?
no subject
They have a simpler one but I think this one has more possibilities. Two people could play it if we wanted to.

action;
Because we don't have enough threads idk.The Vision had promised to go out with Wanda to the stations to have a Real Date, and shopping definitely fits the bill. He hadn't expected to end up in a music store, but then, he really hadn't had a good idea what they'd end up doing. So he's leaning back on one of the walls as he watches her try out the demo theremin, grinning.]
We could find the space for it easily, I think. They fold up rather small.
[An essential facet of anything designed for spacefarers.]
no such thing!!!
I didn't think about that. [Wanda laughs, ducking her head. She'd been so starry-eyed over the strange instrument that the practicalities of actually purchasing it hadn't quite caught up.]
What do you think? It's not a guitar, but...I like it.
[The motions the salesperson had demonstrated were very her, at least. She knows it's fancy tech but it feels almost like magic.]

[It's very much in keeping with her style, and it looks like it would be pretty easy to customize with paint or decals without interfering with its function.]
And there are no doubt tutorial videos on how to make particular sounds, and something like sheet music for some recognizable songs?
[Or recognizable to people in this system, anyway - if they want any Earth classics they're going to have to figure it out themselves or ask someone more musically inclined.]
no subject
[All the better to sell them more things, right? But Wanda doesn't mind indulging in some creature comforts - some new clothes, comfortable bedding, and something to keep her hands and mind occupied. Picking up an instrument at home had helped her a lot.]
Do you want to try? [She shifts over a little, although she certainly doesn't mind if Vision comes to stand behind her. He really doesn't need to worry about invading her personal space anymore.]
no subject
I--suppose I could.
[He looks doubtful - playing music isn't really his thing, even if he likes listening to it. And the hand gestures the theremin uses seem awfully abstract to him. He'd prefer something more mathematical, like strings or percussion. Be that as it may, he sits down next to her (he's not using it as an excuse to get a little more contact with her, certainly not) and starts tentatively waving his hand around in the desired fashion. He looks pleased when it produces a few notes and he experiments for a bit, not managing to make any kind of melody.]

Whoa, that's really cool! Have you seen anything else interesting in the markets?
no subject
[For amphibious beings, apparently. That or to be a showstopper in the many water features of Relnyx.]
sorry for the delay!
[What kind of instrument is it, he wonders. Strings? Winds?]
I'll have to make a trip to the markets myself later. This planet seems really interesting.
no subject
There is definitely more than the last planet. I don't even know how to describe some of the things I've seen.
no subject
[He nods, deep in thought.]
Yeah. I don't think it's really hit me until this planet that we're in space. I mean, sure the technology was advanced everywhere else, but seeing all the different ecosystems aliens can live in is amazing!

You and Makie can start a band now. [She can't really imagine how this instrument would blend with a shamisen, but she isn't a musician so she doesn't really have to, right? If anything goes wrong she can probably figure out some extra sound proofing measures for the ship.]

We have pots in the kitchen. I'm sure we can find someone to drum.
[...she's mostly kidding. Like, 95% kidding.]

And find everyone else earplugs, I think. Or find a room on the Iskaulit far from everything else.

Maybe we can all play together someday. I am not sure how it would sound, but it could be fun.
