Sept 19 - 22

[SURPRISE... Keith was small again. Except... this time? He didn't remember the Fleet. He's not as young as last time, either. There was some panic and angry lashing out at a few people to start, but, once he settled down, he started to explore.

He stuck mostly to the Huntress and the Iskaulit. He'd look familiar to anyone who knew Keith, really, and especially to those who had seen him de-aged last time (though he was a bit older than before). However, be prepared for grumpy stares and lack of trust. Keith was not trusting by nature thanks to how things went for him after his dad died. Adults were especially the bane of his existence.

Care to meet a young emo teen? He might have just pick-pocketed you.]

Sept 23 - 25

[Keith stalked along the corridor, his paws padding softly on the metal floor. He'd woken up as a panther, but he wasn't going to just stay put in his room until it wore off. It was annoying, because he didn't have hands and he couldn't speak to anyone. It also meant he couldn't do his assigned job, either.

So, he was trying to pass the time by strolling around the Iskaulit. He was relying on others to get him back and forth between ships, and had gotten Lance to help him over there that morning so he could jog around the ship with Shiro for their normal routine. Granted, a panther jogging with a man that had dog ears and a tail wasn't exactly normal, but here they were.

It was hard to resist the catlike traits and something at the edge of his peripheral vision shifted, getting his attention. He froze, his tail twitching sharply, before suddenly dashing off down the hall.

Look out, passerby! That panther is about to run you over!]

[Keith raised his eyebrows in surprise.]

Ah... uh... [He considered it, and then looked determined. He nodded.] Yeah.

Good. So do you know anything so far?

[Keith had had decent skills when he had first fought him on the castle, but he was smaller now and he didn't know when he learned any of that]

I know that, if you punch a kid as hard as you can, you have a better shot of winning faster.

[Keith...]

Yes that is true. [He can't fault him for knowing that. In a real fight, it is good to know] Is it worth it though to go after someone like that? Also what if you are training, not in an actual fight?

[Keith shrugged.]

I've never had a reason not to. None of my fights were just training.

[Discipline issues, indeed.]

Sometimes having control is better than just using all your force. It is more impressive and will let you build your skills as opposed to just using all your energy at once.

[Keith considered that.]

So... how do you do that, then?

It's not too hard. It's easy to punch as hard as you can but your form is likely not good. Working on your form, building on it for strength is different than just attacking.

[He holds up a hand, inviting Keith to show what he could if he wanted to]

[Keith straightened up a little at the offered hand, considering it for a moment, and then nodded. He brought his hands up, balled tightly into fists, and then struck out with a right hook.]

[Ulaz easily took the punch that Keith made into his hand. He could feel the strength that he put behind it]

Impressive. Your form could use some work though. It's good for a few strong punches, but not if you needed to be able to converse some energy. I think we can use one of the punching bags for showing that. I can show how to do a proper punch.

[Considering it had worked for him thus far, Keith frowned a bit, almost annoyed looking that he was being criticized, but he didn't talk back. In fact, he was a little thrown off by how Ulaz said it was still impressive, even if it wasn't perfect.]

Okay.

[He notices the frown, even if it is slight. He didn't like being criticized even at a young age. Not that Ulaz had done much of that, he could have gone into something more detailed if he had really wanted to]

Not something you have heard before?

[Keith shook his head.]

Not really.

[Sorry, Ulaz... Keith wasn't much of a talker to begin with, but he was even less so at this stage in his life.]

[And with that he's going to get up]

The gym will be better than the obstacle course if you care to follow.

[Keith watched Ulaz stand, still a little thrown off by the height, but he'd deal. He seemed to consider the offer for a moment, and then nodded.]

Okay.

[He'd follow.]

[With that Ulaz started walking in the direction of the gym. He was carefully slowing down his steps so that Keith would be able to keep up with him without running after him. He is at least aware that he is tall]

[He wasn't a little kid, Ulaz! He could handle it!

But, still... there was an unspoken appreciation for the gesture. Ulaz's legs were a lot longer than Keith's right now. Ulaz was shorter than usual, sure, but Keith was a lot shorter.]

Do they have like... practice weapons here, too?

[Well he is little compared to Ulaz and a kid?

But that was a consideration he'd started making in the fleet in general since it seemed like almost everyone was shorter than him]

They do if you'd want to try something like that.

[Shiro may not like it, but at least Ulaz knew how to properly use practice and live weapons]

[Keith considered it, and then nodded.]

Okay. Yeah. I do.

[He's stick to that.]

Then if you do, we can. I would like to remind you though, they aren't toys. It's not something to play around with.

[He's at least putting that forward before doing anything to show a small one any sort of weapon]

I know that.

[Keith sounded defensive as he said that. Like, really... he knew this was serious. He wasn't looking to play.]

I had a feeling you did. But I know others will comment on it and I have reminded you.

[It didn't take long for them to reach the gym and he leans the way over to where they had the practice weapons. He glances over at Keith before looking at the weapons and picking one]

I think this one is a good option to start with.

So, like... you're covering your back against people maybe saying something about you teaching a kid how to work with a weapon.

[Keith sized up the weapon Ulaz held out to him with a quick glance before taking it in hand. He turned, swinging it around a bit. He visibly had good instincts. It wasn't just haphazard swinging about, but he was getting a feel for it.]

Of course. If it should be said, you were told they weren't toys.

[Ulaz watched as Keith swung the sword. If he had never used one before, he seemed to have a natural knack for it. Which made sense given his weapon as a paladin was a sword and he had his mother's blade]

Good.

[Ulaz picked up one as well]
