[ loki is no stranger to space ships. though the kind of ships asgard uses are quite different in nature, he's read enough to be familiar with the make and feel of this one. he quietly turns on the recording device, squinting at it. very primitive but it'll have to do. he straightens himself, as befitting a prince, quiet and somber despite the nervousness. ]

Greetings. I am Prince Loki of Asgard. I wish to know about my whereabouts and swift return to Asgard. My father will not be pleased.

[ a pause as loki thinks of what else to add before pulling out a large knife he stole from the kitchens. ]

Greetings, Prince Loki. I am the Vision of Midgard, and I believe we are outside Heimdall's ability to reach at the moment, or you would no doubt already have been returned to your realm.

My apologies; in that case we are almost certainly being directly blocked from his access. However, we're generally not here for terribly long. I'm sure you'll return home soon.

In the meantime, I know it's not precisely what you're used to, but you may be able to find a decent adventure down on the planet, or even interesting things to explore here in the Fleet. I doubt you'll get bored.

[This might possibly get him in trouble with Thor, but the Vision smiles a bit. Even a young Asgardian can probably take care of himself. He sends the landing coordinates nearest where the action seems to be.]

I don't believe there's an age limit, though you may want to check in with the administrators to be certain. You should be able to join in, and if there's an entry fee you should have enough credits in your account to cover it several times over.

Er, a virtual currency system and the amount you currently own. Your communicator should allow you to check the balance. We're all given enough to cover our needs here, including entertainment.

[ ah, his expression clears up a little. ]

Ah, I remember. They use that on other star systems.

[He nods encouragingly.]

That's correct. I'm a type of construct called an android, made by humans.

Midgard isn't a very powerful world, and they are sometimes attacked. I was made to help defend it.

But that's what Asgard is for! We'll help!

[ oh the irony. ]

[Yeah, that gets a blink as he shuffles through some potential responses until he can find one that's both true and not a massive spoiler.]

Most humans don't know about Asgard. Even among those who do, it's often considered myth and legend rather than a day-to-day fact of existence.

It's been many centuries since Asgard last visited openly. Humans only live for a few decades.

I do know that now, as does Earth - how do you suppose I know as much as I do about Asgard?
