[ loki is no stranger to space ships. though the kind of ships asgard uses are quite different in nature, he's read enough to be familiar with the make and feel of this one. he quietly turns on the recording device, squinting at it. very primitive but it'll have to do. he straightens himself, as befitting a prince, quiet and somber despite the nervousness. ]

Greetings. I am Prince Loki of Asgard. I wish to know about my whereabouts and swift return to Asgard. My father will not be pleased.

[ a pause as loki thinks of what else to add before pulling out a large knife he stole from the kitchens. ]

Also I have a knife.

There is a cat on this ship. He would not take well to it if you were.

I have never had a problem with animals. I can turn into one.

[ She is ending this communication now. Awkward. She will be around the ship though, even if he's more likely to come across her alien cat first, since Kova likes to roam the halls and is attentive to changes. ]

[ loki takes to wandering the ship. thor has already explained a lot to him, so loki has no fear looking around, peeking at the corridors and watching the strange magic on the walls play out. when he spots the cat, loki gently bends down, extending his hand without a word. ]

[The cat is cautious at first; while Kova has gotten a good deal friendlier after being on board for a few months, he's had to adjust to people suddenly being altered with glitches, too.

There's familiarity in Loki's scent, so he approaches the outstretched hand after a moment.]

[ loki's slow smile grows, as he reaches out to scratch behind the ears. this creature was smallre than freya's cats but loki was familiar enough not to be scared or worried. he could probably turn into a cat too. ]

[ The cat makes a pleased sound. This was acceptable for him. He allows the ear scritch, though walks around in a circle, controlling how much he's pet. His fur is fairly smooth.

Down the end of the hall, a door opens and a woman steps out, but for the moment makes no sign of having noticed the pair. ]

[ loki is thoroughly distracted with the cat, even letting little strands of green magic float from his fingers to entice the cat into jumping and chasing after his fingers. ]

[ The magic that Loki produces is unfamiliar, but to a near dispassionate watcher it is less about what he is doing and more what the playing represents, and that is a haunting sense of déjà vu, vague and uncomfortable, but oddly compelling enough to observe.

The cat enjoys his distraction, however; it is new and curious for him and frankly it's a lot more rewarding than being suspicious and hissy all the time. The cat stares at the magic, occasionally reaching up to bat at it. He might seem small, but he's fairly longer than most, evidenced by his stretching. ]

[ loki giggles. ]

Chase it! It won't hurt you. It's just a small illusion.

[ There's a small cat noise, as if he's affronted by the thought of being frightened by an illusion. Much too perceptive for a cat but still one nonetheless, so Kova finally leaps instead of simply batting at it, indulging in the play.


While the watcher continues the quiet observation even if it only remains discomfiting. ]

[ loki finally notices a presence and he looks up to spot Haggar. ]

[There might have been a slight waver between the delivery of the "Lo" and "ki", almost as if another name tried to slip out instead.]

I see you have met Kova.

[ loki nods his head, smiling. ]

Is he yours?

[She glances down at the cat, who has moved to wind himself around Loki's legs at the distraction.]

... That is correct. You seem to have won him over quickly.

[dothelokimotion]

[ loki pets kova again. ]

I'm good with animals. This one's rather small though.

Size is not everything. Although one would think he has an appetite for a creature at least several times his size.
