[One afternoon Manji opens up his communicator.] Kogarasumaru! [He speaks with confidence that he probably shouldn't have.] You remember our fight, right? Well, I'm ready if you are. Shall I meet you at your dojo or somewhere on this junk of a planet? [Thanks to this thread Manji has a fight to pick. He could just call Kogarasumaru out privately, but he hasn't figured out how to do that just yet.]

Action: Junker Racing

[You know what else Manji can do that's really dumb? Try driving a car in a junker race with one arm. How hard can driving a car be when the most advance transportation you've ever driven was a horse?

And-- opps, yup. He's just crashed. In a spectacular fashion. Good thing he's immortal? Still, he may need a hand out of that wreckage.]

[Here he is. Minding his own business and having some tea. Oh and checking to see what people might be saying on the communicator since it is notifying him that something what was posted.

And what do you know. It's Manji challenging him. He laughs softly as he finishes his tea first before replying.]

I would be honored to accept your challenge today. Would you prefer steel or wood?

[Are you keeping him waiting?! No, probably just didn't see his message or something.]

No more playing. We should use steel this time. [Even knowing he's likely to lose Manji is getting exciting for this.]

Then the planet, please. I would like to be sure my dojo is not cut apart with real blades.

[Obviously he has no problem with the change. Shows no signs of hesitation.]

I suppose you wish to challenge me now?

[Someone finally got around to trying out vehicular travel and .... he's not much better at it, even with two arms. Vehicle Handling is not a thing he is proficient in so ... he may very well have been part of the reason you crashed, Manji.]

[Or not. But either way he's come to screeching halt himself in a place that most normal people would not stop to think of parking a racecar, hanging halway out and giving Manji a wave.]

Works for me. I don't care where we fight. There are a bunch of arenas down here. [As he's already on the planet.] We can fight in one not being used. [And possibly grow a crowd, but that's not why Manji suggested it. He's honestly just focused on the convince side.]

Of course I wish to challenge you now. Unless you want to back out. [Please back out. It's the only way he can painlessly save what little pride he has.]

[They can argue who hit who later. All that matters for the moment is Manji reacted really bad to the crash and managed to seriously damage his car.

He's dead. He's got to be with the way his arm is bent at an odd angle and with all the blood already pouring out. Clearly, he is a goner.]

Ow... [Or he's somehow still alive even with a chunk of the car jammed into his gut.] I mean... yeah, I'm good.

Fuck these things hit hard.

[Now that he's taking a closer look at the wreck Kramm's a little worried. He's from a world where death isn't exactly the end all be all, but you've got to have the supplies and a skilled Cleric in those cases. He has neither.]

[He hops out and jogs over the racetrack to Manji's car, slowing a bit now that he's getting all the grisley details as well as hearing a fully conscious and alive Manji complain. This was weird.]

Mmm.... yeah [He points at the bit sticking into Manji,] I don't think that's supposed to go there.

[Still trying to process how you're talking right now but he doesn't need details to try to pull the car off of him ... out of him?]

Calling out a fighter in a public announcement? Do you wish for everyone to watch?

[Everyone to watch him get his ass kicked? Not really, but he can't back down from his tough guy persona, right?]

You know what? I don't think it is either. [He says in a bitter, sarcastic tone of voice.] Just, pull it out will yeah? It's not so easy with one arm.

[More so when that one arm is currently broken, but that's okay. The worms in his body are slowly fixing it already.]

Oh don't you worry. I will.

[It will be about two hours later, but eventually Manji will find one and broadcast the location out to everyone. He really should learn how to make things private one day.]

[Clearly this guy did not know anything of him. Ulaz feels more inclined to show him at this point. He turns away from the screen for just a moment to pick up his own sword and set it down - respectfully, no slamming it down - in front of him, which would let Manji see it]

I am used to it. Kogarasumaru is the first who has bested me in a very long time.

[Well that's easy to find. And he notes with amusement that it's public again. Really this boy is adorable.

Still, he shows up with his sword and wearing his battle attire. Looking around, he takes note of the arena they're in before settling his gaze on Manji.]

A fine location you have picked.

[Manji found the clearest arena he could get that was free. There were a few bits of bigger debris that they could jump off of or run around, but mostly nice empty spaces for a proper fright.

Manji is dressed in his usual black and white kimono as he stands in the middle with an excited grin on his face. He knew this was going to hurt, but it was also going to be a lot of fun.] It'll do.

So, you know my secret. I'm pretty hard to kill. Just don't chop off my head. [Because Kogarasumaru easily could if he wanted to and Manji knows this.] What about you? Are ya' like a human and will die like one if you're cut up too much? [Not that Manji thinks he'll land a hit today, but he's talking tough and just in case he gets lucky. He's not looking to kill anyone today.]

[Manji is careful to keep his expression neutral. Looking as if he had no interest in the way Ulza just showed off his blade.]

Oh yeah? Then perhaps me and you should spar sometimes. That's a decent lookin' blade you got there.

[Hopefully he'll find out Ulaz is evil so he has an excuse to steal it.]

[Kramm is a big beefy dude used to doing things designed for big beefy dudes, but that was in a world that the most advanced land vehicle was a horse attached to a cart. He grabs and pulls at the metal sticking out of Manji, but it's still attached to the car as well and, well. Metal is far stronger than wood, and though he's gotten a certain familiarity with metal since he's been in the fleet, it's been in the context of working with it and not fighting against it.]

[And in this situation, where his friend is pinned and impaled, even despite Manji's pretty blase demeanor it's stressful. Kramm struggles with the metal, getting increasingly frustrated, until that little defining piece of him snaps; with a primal, animal, guttural sound, he pitches into a full rage; his eyes go red and ropes of drool swing down from his snarling jaw.]

[He rams a shoulder into the join of the metal piece with the front half of the car and pushes, finally getting it to budge loose and move, and in the adrenaline rush he doesn't stop until he's moved it a few decent feet away from Manji.]

He stands staring at it, breathing heavily, then looks back at Manji. He'd really like something to punch right now but there is just enough coherence to know Manji = friend.]

[oh. Oh my goodness]

Can I watch you and Kogarasumaru fight? Please?

_{[ What? Oh my god, Manji, why? Do you have no sense of self preservation? Kirk's is minimal at best, but even he, with his very basic sword knowledge, could tell that Kogarasumaru was an Ass Kicker (TM). Respect, or probably get a sword point in an unpleasant place. ]}

[Manji would not be helping the stressful situation with the way he grunts and groans, complaining all the way through as Kramm works at trying to remove the bit of metal from his gut.] OUCH! That fuckin' HURTS!

[He does eventually notice that Kramm seems to be getting a bit more... animistic in his rescue attempt.] Hey, Kramm buddy? Are you al-Holy... SHIT!

[He screams out in pain as the twisted bit of metal is ripped from his stomach. He starts bleeding out from the newly opened wound. Manji rolls himself away and out of the car to make sure he's away in case Kramm decides to keep attacking the car.

Manji stares Kramm down for a moment as he waits for the pain to die down at least enough to speak clearly.] It's alright, Kramm. Calm down. [He's not sure if that will work, but it seems like a good place to start. He doesn't look away as he stares Kramm down. He thinks that's a trick that works on bears? Or that it the opposite of what he should do with bears? Hopefully it works on lizard men.]

[Hey, isn't that the dream eater? Can he be rude to a dream eater? Should he be rude?]

...sure?

[He didn't think they would like to watch a fight. Hold on his brain is rebooting.] I mean, no one else is askin' permission so you might as well come.

Now that sounds like someone actually being helpful! [A beat.] I think Kogarasumaru would prefer the cheap stuff.

[Yes. Kogarasumaru likes cheap beer. Totally, Kogarasumaru. Not Manji. Never Manji.]

[Usually he'd spike into a rage during an engagement that had more than one attack, so he is fighting against a primed and ready instinct to keep fighting; down one baddie, who's the next? But he also knows you don't rage on your friends.]

[He looks over at Manji, Manji's bleeding. they need a cleric. Kramm isn't a cleric. He stalks towards Manji with the intent of carrying him to a cleric. Would probably be helpful to say as much but he doesn't think to voice it.]

I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

_{[ His tone is saying I KNOW IT'S FOR YOU, BRO. ]}

[Not evil. Just really big and intimidating in appearance. Also he doesn't know it yet, but Ulaz's sword won't work for him]

We should. It never hurts to have more sparring partners.
