Who: Death and You
Broadcast: Yes
Action: Planetside
When: Today
Action – Planetside Scrapyard
Action – Planetside Scrapyard
It wasn’t at all hard to find people who took a liking to him or Poppy. Death is in the middle of a more organized scrap yard than most, surrounded by the more artistic types. He’s currently fiddling with metal sheets being fitted to a large grill type of device in what are supposed to be flower shapes. Some people just like to mix themes, he supposes. The metal is easy enough to fiddle with by hand, too, although he does make some cursory attempts to use proper tools for the job at hand. Each flower he finishes gets passed off for welding and more welding until the false verdant nature of the grill is deemed acceptable. Death takes a sit back with the other artists and lets them hash out smaller details like delivery. He is joined in his seat by Poppy, who takes to purring loudly as he watches the new gill get rinsed off for its first voyage.
Broadcast – Planetside, later in the day
Food is a common denominator that brings all together nearly as much as his job or the need to sleep. Death is among people who live for food cooked on a new grill, producing various, slightly singed items fit for a good meal. He has no plate of his own owing to a lack of a stomach, but Poppy gleefully munches on scraps of meat that he breaks up for her convenience. He waves at the feed briefly and turns his hands to petting his cat and reminding her that she is very much loved in all her purring goodness.
I LIKE THIS PLANET. THERE IS SO MUCH PEOPLE CAN DO TO TURN METAL INTO SOMETHING ORGANIC AND LIVELY.
video;
Hey, when did you--
...
[Wait.
Wait. This isn't.
What?]
....Hokay then. Wrong number? Or are there just more skull-headed guys in the world than I originally assumed.
video;
video;
It's weird talking to another version of Death when his version literally just got here. Why does he always find death when he is the one that wants to die the least?]
Mmhmmmm okay then. Hail and well met, Discy Death? I'm Taako.
[His eyes flick down to the cat in the video feed.]
And you could say I've met a Grim Reaper before sure. [Understatement of the year.] I set some Evard's Black Tentacles on him and then we went out to a pottery class. Life is wild-- well, Death, I guess in this case. Death is wild, huh?
video;
A PLEASURE TO MAKE YOUR ACQUAINTANCE, TAAKO. I AM SIMPLY CALLED DEATH.
[He doesn't emote due to his face being an actual skull, but Death does let his head fall slightly to one side in a kind of humorous gesture.]
IT SEEMS YOU HAVE MET A DEATH OF A DIFFERENT WORLD THAN MINE. MAY I ASK WHAT THEY ARE LIKE THAT YOU FELT THE NEED TO SEND TENTACLES AFTER THEM?
video;
He's going to have to find a nickname for this guy though because just calling him DEATH is going to get confusing for Taako real fast.]
Yeah for sure, Goth Metal Rock. And the first time we met he was kinda trying to kill me? So I really didn't have a choice. We made up later so it's fine now.
[Because he's hella fine.]
Are you always [He gestures to his face] rocking the Skeletor look or do you have a second face?
video;
YOUR TIME HAD COME, YET HE DID NOT REAP YOU? IT SOUNDS AS THOUGH YOU EITHER GAVE HIM QUITE THE RUN FOR HIS MONEY OR STRUCK A BARGAIN TO EXTEND YOUR LIFE.
[A kind of ripple comes over Death's appearance and for a moment he will hopefully appear over the feed as a middle aged man with a large black beard peppered with grey. Then he is back to his true self: skeleton in a black robe.]
I HAVE GLAMOR, BUT IT IS NOT NECESSARY NOW. THE PEOPLE OF THESE MANY PLANETS DO NOT SEEM TO TAKE NOTICE THE WAY THOSE BACK ON MY PLANET WOULD.
video;
But yeah, little of column A, a little of column B - we ended up making a deal.
[And then some. Kravitz had turned out to be really, well, pleasant. He watches the feed as Death changes to a middle-aged man and then back to the skull and bones.]
Huh. So. They just don't...notice that whole situation? [That seems highly unlikely, but apparently it's true. No one is screaming and running in the background.] Maybe Death is real chummy in this reality.
video;
[He made a deal himself a long time ago, but it's odd hearing such behavior described of what sounds like one of his own. Death shrugs.]
THE GLAMOUR IS SUPPOSED TO WORK WITHOUT MY DELIBERATE THOUGHT INVOLVED. IT MIGHT BE THAT IT STILL GOES ON, BUT WITH HOW MANY DIFFERENT KINDS OF ALIENS THERE ARE, IT IS HARD TO SAY WITH CERTAINTY.
I LIKE TO BELIEVE I TRY MY BEST TO BE INVOLVED IN A FRIENDLY MANNER WITH THE LIVING.

Re: video
How are you doing otherwise? Enjoying this utter scrap heap?[Kramm loves it!]

People can be pretty creative. I mean, I'm not good at like the whole artsy-stuff, but its always fun to see what others can come up with.

YOU SHOULD COME BY SOME OF THESE LOCATIONS ON THE PLANET IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN SCRAP ART. THERE SEEM TO BE A MULTITUDE OF COMMUNITIES DEDICATED TO THE ARTS.
Action
He waits until the work seems to be done before approaching.]
Nice cat.
[Death, meet a son of the god of death.]
Action
I HAVE A STRONG FONDNESS FOR CATS. A SENSE OF KINSHIP, PERHAPS, NOT UNLIKE WHAT WE POSSESS BY THE VERY NATURE OF OUR BEINGS. [He pauses briefly and the blue lights in his eyes flicker.] YOU ARE A DEMIGOD.
no subject
I am. [He's not even surprised.] You feel like death. [A pause.] You are death?
no subject
[He offers a hand to Nico.]
I AM THE DEATH OF A PLANET CALLED DISCWORLD. MY DOMINION IS THE COLLECTIVE SOULS OF ALL THAT LIVE ON IT. THIS IS MY NEWEST CAT. HER NAME IS POPPY.
no subject
[He accepts, clasping Death's hand.]
Nico di Angelo. You already know what I am. My father is the god of death ... among other things. [Greek gods were bad at sticking to just one thing.
He gives the cat a considering look.] Animals don't usually like me. [They were more sensitive to the whole death-aura vibe. It didn't mesh well. But cats were different, for reasons previously mentioned.]
no subject
[Death picks up Poppy and holds her up so Nico can see her better. She's a young cat, not quite fully grown. Her head extends towards Nico and she sniffs the air he occupies.]
CATS AND I GET ALONG WELL. THEY SEE ME FOR WHAT I AM NO MATTER WHAT.
no subject
[He lifts a hand for the cat to smell. He's been told he smells like death. Doesn't matter how many baths he takes. So ... thanks, Dad.]

What are you making?
[He questioned, a little curious. I recalled their first meeting that Death didn't appear to know the difference between a nut and a bolt. So to see him creating something was a complete turn around.]
[Action]
[He lifts up more metal plates and focuses on them intently. The metal joins together without any appearance of welding. Death carefully pulls at the metal until a petal-like shape starts to form.]
THEY HAD TO SHOW ME HOW TO DO IT, BUT I'M RUBBISH WITH MANY TOOLS. EVEN OFF THE DISC, I HAVE MY LITTLE CONDUITS TO WORK THROUGH, THOUGH.

[Hux was uncertain of the term. Their technology was so different and vast from others that it often confused him. He had to figure out things on his own what people referenced to.]
Perhaps, I could offer some kind of assistance?
[Even if he was unsure, he might be able to help in some way. It would be a challenge, something he approved of.]
no subject
[He picks up a couple of pieces of scrap and offers them to Hux.]
THE TRICK OF IT ALL IS TO GET AS CLOSE TO AN ORGANIC SHAPE AS POSSIBLE. I'VE SEEN A NUMBER OF PLANTS, INCLUDING FLOWERS, IN MY TIME.
