[ He's taken a little while to try to keep it together, to check the roster, to make sense of it against what he's learned about the Fleet so far, and to at least get himself leveled out enough to talk. ]

Maggie is, um... she's not on the ship. She's still on the roster, but she's not here.

[ A pause, a steadying breath, and onward - ]

I know that's supposed to mean she'll be back, but if anyone's been through this, if it was you or if it was someone you know here... how long are people gone when this happens? And they do all come back, right? As long as they're still on the roster? [ A moment - ] Are they okay?

[ That's... a lot to start with, he knows. It's everything that matters. And then, ]

[ Someday he'll post something nice and fun. Really. ]

[ A deep breath - he can handle that. Sure. ]

Yeah, she is.

[ Of course she is, but. That doesn't mean he's not going to protect her in whatever way he still can, and be frustrated with all the ways he can't anymore. ]

But do we know anything about it, though? What happens, how people just... remember more things?

Not really, no.. sometimes, you wake up changed with what you remember.

[ It feels like it takes a long time to get there. But it's possible that's just a matter of perspective, that he's too antsy to be objective. Daryl kind of hates being split up across ships for just this reason: it's hard to be there for their people when he's not... there.

But eventually the shuttle docks, and he steps into the Goldstone, not surprised to find Glenn waiting there. ]

[ Just... wondering here, based on what Carl's saying. He asks gently, with a bit of concern - ]

Has that happened to you?

[rheecon]

Hey.

[ He gives a little nod. ]

You know you didn't really have to come all the way over here.

[ Not that he's surprised, or complaining, that he did. ]

Yeah.

[ but also, he kind of did have to come over. ]

You holdin' up?

[ he knows, it's a stupid question. but he's not quite sure what stage of worry Glenn's in right now-- whether he's pissed or wallowing or just shellshocked-- so it's worth figuring it out. ]

It should mean she'll be back. [Which he already knows.] But it all varies. If she's actually missing and not just in a coma then it should be relatively short. [She's had more bad luck with the comas herself. People going under for a month or more and then disappearing instead of waking up.]

[She pauses.] Are you sure she's not just somewhere else and not answering her comm?

[rheecon]

[ He sort of knows that too. ]

Yeah... yeah.

[ He's... somewhere between and also touching on them all, honestly. ]

She'll be back.

[ At least half to himself. ]

[rheecon]

Yeah. I'm sure.

[ A pause, a deep breath. ]

I've heard a month, I guess... all I can do is wait it out, huh?

[ He is not okay with that. ]

A month is normal for comas. I don't hear about disappearing as much. But nothing would really surprise me.

[She nods.] Distraction helps. You're close?

'Course.

[ He's got no reason to know that, except people say it's true if your name's still on the roster-- not like when Carol went-- but he believes it. Maybe if he believes it hard enough it'll be true.

Then again it's not like that ever worked before. ]

Just figured you could use someone around.

[ Someone who gets it. Really, what he should've done is found something to drink, but he bolted over without thinking it through. Like it's gonna make a difference whether he's here, but he feels better being here. Hopes Glenn does, too, even just a little, not being on his own. ]

Woke up without an eye once, that was...a little spooky?

[ Mostly it was jarring, because he'd gone to sleep with both eyes, remembered, and then he woke up how everything was after he'd stormed the Savior's camp. ]

[ That's probably a good call, since nobody really needs Glenn trying to break onto the Marsiva right now. ]

But, uh... not usually.

[ Though he doesn't care as much as he should right now. ]

[ The truth is, he does already feel better for having Daryl here. He offers a weak smile, best he's got right now. ]

Yeah. I think I could.

[ He glances past Daryl to the shuttle for a moment. ]

No chance we can get to where she is, is there?

[rheecon]

[ That's hopeful - heck, Keith's here, which is enough. ]

Did you always come back with new memories?

[rheecon]

[ Oh, yeah, this probably should have come up, huh? ]

Close to Maggie? Yeah... she's my wife.

Mnn. [ He shakes his head. ]

She's on the big one. Just new folks there, mostly. Different part, too.

[ Also dead people, but he's not touching that with a thirty foot pole. ]

Yeah, actually. I did. I don't know if anyone's come back without new memories, though.

And some of those memories came with some physical changes, too, once, so... there's that.
