Grumpy Bird
Who: Robin
Broadcast: Yes?
Action: Marsiva & SS Goldstone
When: 4/12 - 8/12
MARSIVA
[Tim wishes he could say he woke up alert and already assessing his environment but the truth is, he's very slow, very groggy and extremely confused when he first edges towards consciousness. It's only the cold from the barren Hospitality Deck that speeds up the process. He curls up and tries to reach for blankets that his sleepy mind tell him should be there. Only their absence has him sitting up to assess his current surroundings.]
First Hour
[Tim's first priority is his own body. He appeared here still in his Red Robin uniform and after a quick pat down, he realise that's all he's been left with. No grappling gun, no bo staff which he is not happy about but at least his identity is still safe.
Standing he notices the large viewing bay first and is immediately drawn to it. Hands find themselves against the glass-like surface and he cranes to see all he can. The constellations are wrong; well not wrong but wrong for any system Tim has in his memory. He takes a couple of hurried steps back as if to take in the bigger picture. Shoulders squared, breathes coming in and out to a precise mental count, his head cocks to take in the screen playing out the default Drift Fleet Encouragement Messages.
Deep breathe in, slow breathe out.
Stuck out in an unknown system, on an unknown ship, for entertainment purposes.
Perimeter check. Yes, we can handle that.]
First 24 Hours
[The perimeter check happens. Tim goes over the entire Hospitality Deck with a fine tooth comb. First he goes over it in a basic walk through, then he ransacks the entire place; strips the beds of any sheets, opens every cupboard and every container. Then he puts everything back exactly where it was before. If it wasn't so sterile to begin with you'd swear it was neater than before.
Anything small enough in the Medical Bay will be sneaked away into pockets in the belt.
Samples of the water is steamed and then frozen and then defrosted before the food get a familiar assortment of tests. Unless he finds something that resembles coffee he does not consume any of it.]
The Next 48 Hours
[Sleep doesn't happen, it doesn't even appear to be considered. He walks along each wall, running his fingers along looking for seams and he spends a little time using the kitchen cutlery trying to pry it away at the seams.
He gives up.
He spends a little time pacing in front of the large viewing windows.
He eventually finds or clears a large empty area and falls into a series of katas. This continues for hours until Tim is a panting sweating mess on the floor.
Tim approaches the showers and glares at the walls suspiciously looking for cameras. He glares at the showers. He leaves, stripping one of the cots of a sheet and ripping it long strips from it. He then weirdly flips his cape over his head and shoulders. When he emerges, the strips of cloth are being used as a make shift zorro style mask and the cowl from the Red Robin uniform has been removed. Shower is had.
Unfortunately after re-emmerging, Tim seems to have gotten an idea and anything resembling a sheet or blanket is pulled from wherever it lives, chairs and cots are rearranged however he can manage and over a couple of hours a blanket fort is constructed in the Hospitality Deck.
Anything that resembles alfoil/aluminium/or that makes a crinkly noise is placed around the perimeter and through the most obvious entrance as Tim disappears inside.
The Last 24 Hours
[Tim sleeps.]
SS GOLDSTONE
[Tim jumps and is on his feet in seconds when confetti and welcoming music suddenly break the absolute silence of the Marsiva; or what was the Marsiva anyway. Surprised eyes scan over what looks like.. a lounge? It certainly looks more lived in than the last one.]
Hello? Is anyone there?
[He doesn't drop his defensive stance as he turns to take in the exits to this room. His cowl is still down but his make shift 'zorro' mask remains on. It looks silly.]
If you're an alien who has kidnapped me, I'd very much like to speak to you?
[Speak to you, beat you up, he can multitask.]

Re: video;
There might also be a social experiment in there as well. Dump people in enclosed spaces and see how they survive and interact maybe?
Re: video;
[Just saying, Robin. Juuuut saying.]
And that's pretty much the premise of this... "reality" show. And most of what we do here. We're paid more for whatever drama and shit we stir up on our own.
Re: video;
A Big Brother type of situation then. I'm not sure I'm going to be very entertaining to them then.
Re: video;
And considering you showed up here wearing a bedsheet? I'm pretty sure people are gonna find you pleeeenty entertaining. It just might not be in the way you want.
Re: video;
I'm not repeating the bedsheet incident. I'm sure there's something around here that I can make a domino mask out of.
Re: video;
[You're screwed, Robin. He would totally rock a sugar glider kigurumi without a single godsdamn care in the world.]
But you're telling me you made your own outfit? Like, the whole thing?
Re: video;
We'll see what materials I can scourge up.
And I didn't make this outfit completely, as I said this identity was once used by my brother; although I have done repairs and modifications to it.
Given the right equipment, it is something I can do though. [Although not usually something he does himself. Alfred is much better at it.]
Re: video;
I'll transmute whatever you can't find.
Hardest part might be finding a sewing machine. Unless you do it all by hand.
Re: video;
Fine. I'll see what I can find including a sewing machine because I am definitely not doing this by hand.
Re: video;
[Taako is committed now and he'll be pissed if he doesn't get a sugar glider kigurumi to do a dumb pair look with Robin.]
Maybe you can put tactical pockets in yours.
Re: video;
Any other requests?
Re: video;
[He winks and grins, glad to be getting this stupid suit even if he's just doing it to mess with this guy.]
Re: video;
Re: video;
[He's multidimensional okay!!]
But if you want to make it a rainbow sugar glider? I'm so down for that.
Re: video;
Re: video;
Re: video;
I feel like I've bitten off more than I can chew but I'm still going to try this
Re: video;
Re: video;
Where am I even going to find a sewing machine? How does this whole fleet not have one? What do you guys do when clothes need repairing?
Re: video;
Also I can use magic, sooooo.
[He doesn't necessarily need to go to a specialist to get things repaired.]
Re: video;
Re: video;
Who knows? Maybe someone picked one up for personal use on the Fleet and you can ask to borrow it.
Re: video;
I'll keep an eye out for what I need. It just might take a while.
What did you do when you first came to the Fleet?
Re: video;
[The dumping grounds of this section of the universe, apparently.]
And as for your question, do you mean like the first thing I did upon waking up or about my clothes? Because I got a shitload of clothing at the used shops on that planet. None of it was great, but they had salvageable pieces.
