Okay, as it turns out... it's really hard to get in contact with people when you don't have their names or their ships or their numbers. [ Steffa's keeping an eye out already, so she opens the airlock with raised eyebrows. ]

I have to admit, that was quicker than I was expecting. Do you want to come inside?

[ He jumps a bit, then crosses his arms and gives a shrug. Playing it cool. There is nothing cool about him. ]

It depends how much of a hurry you're in, I suppose. The library's empty at the moment, though, so it'll be a bit more private, if you'd like.

Well, really it's just Krista's personnel room that we've put our book collection in. We're trying to build it up, and Hiro's programming a lending system, so we can loan them out to the rest of the fleet, like a library.

I guess it's... something to do. [ He doesn't seem very impressed, sry2say. He shakes his head. ] But whatever. Less people around, the better.

She leads the way to the library which is a bit more impressive than just "our book collection" - many many books of all sorts (including comic books), a sofa, a table, some beanbags. And, as she said, currently no other people. ]

[ It's not as bad as he was thinking, but to be perfectly honest it still isn't his thing. He sighs, moving inside and circling around as if to take the whole thing in its... glory. Bleh. ]

Well, I had to study and practice for years to learn how to use it as well as I do. It's not easy. I'm glad you didn't accidentally set anything on fire, I had trouble with that when I was little.

I know better than that.

[ He takes powers in all the time, after all. His self-control isn't the greatest but he has a good handle on keeping powers in line, anyway. ]

Any number of things... Healing, in theory, though I've never been much good at it. Freezing, telekinesis, lighting... there are less offensive spells, of course, but most of my practical experience has been with those.

[ surprised ]

Well of course, if you need it. You've already proven you're perfectly willing to give it back, and if I can help, why wouldn't I?

Oh, it's one of those powers. [ More like a set all in itself. He's not so great at reading the powers he gets, but he can feel them out given enough time. ]

Oh... I don't know. A lot of people are getting really mad, and it's stupid. What else do they want me to do?

It's ridiculous, you can't help what you need to survive, that's like getting angry with me for having magic at all.

[ she shakes her head ] But, as I said, if I can help again, just let me know, I've no reason to distrust you.

I think it was more with the face which—Jesus, I can't... [ He makes some frustrated motions and shuts up. Explaining himself hasn't helped anything because everyone's too stupid to get it. ]
