How often do we come into contact with alien lifeforms?
I'm not talking about the kind that resembles us, which apparently exist here.

I'm quite sure aliens have better things to do than to kill weak humans. At least the ones here don't care for it.

They took over and then pretended to be the human they were now controlling.

Is there some way to be absolutely certain they're not going to hurt anyone?

Is there a way to be absolutely certain that humans won't hurt anyone? No. But my time here is informative. There are planets where aliens can be hostile, there are plenty that are not. If you wish to cling to your views, you're welcome to do so.

But many on the Fleet will be alien to you. I suggest you get used to it.

No and that’s the point.
We know humans are capable of this.
I’d apply the same caution to humans as I would any alien.
So it is the same. It doesn’t matter the species they’re all dangerous.

It’s not about getting used it it. It’s about making sure that I remain myself.

Unless you have some other value, I do not think anyone is interested in taking that away.

But then the value is simply due to having a body.

I have not seen any parasitic aliens on the Fleet. And they're quite rare in my reality.

So I am saying I do not think it is a real concern. I'm sure others on the Fleet would say the same.
